i think 10 is the best amount to have for rankings right now
15 might work
20 is excessive and seems to inclusive

but truth be told past like 5 or so people there's a pretty solid gap. like, the gap between sheik/marth/falco/fox and the rest of the characters. not an insurmountable gap, but an obvious and distinct one.

i think 10 will be pretty easy but after that theres sooo many people that could make it into the top 15. it would just depend on how they're playing that day.

i saw we do 10, then we expand to 15 later on.

Hmmm I say we wait for the turn-out on Quakfest and other tournies maybe even wait for the end of the year and we can call it the New NorCal Rankings of 2009.

That could give us time to be absolute about the rankings in case we do Top 15.

yea. but seeing as ppl always want a rankings, and i believe we can legitly make a top 10 ranking from what we've had in the last couple of months. i say we make top 10 @ quakfest's dinner.

everyone already knows who's going to be top 10, so at least it'll be pretty accurate. we'll just hafto think about that last spot or two and the order.

i say one person from every area who frequents tourneys the most from that area.

one from san pablo, one from east bay (zoap), one from deep (sheridan), one from our area (probably justin or one of us two, since we all go to tourneys the same), one from more up north (modesto, davis, sac, etc etc,), and one from the SF area (even though we could be counted in that list).

and hopefully have ppl who are ranked be the panelist. to remove bias (even though its impossible). cept for sheridan. he gets it jsut b/c he's sherindizzle.

well a lotta ppl are arguing for a list jsut so they can have something to work towards.

it's not ABSOLUTELY necessary, b/c if u have a brain and have been to the last few tourneys, then you already KNOW who the best are.

Anyone who msg me about me not going dont. I got midterms/essays/projects to do that weekend and all due that week. So dont beg me to go.

Also Shroom deserves low tier because he got 2 stocked against my pichu and he lost with C Falcon. No Johns.

Also we have enough quakfest/davis, SJ tourney to pull off a top 10 tier.

It just that some ppl just appeared and are going to be more active again like DBR + Lunin + pink maybe? Who knows, but top 10 is definitely possible now. It will help rank us.

However if you think about the WEST coast smash league, We could see how many ppl come from other areas of the united states , if any, and use that as part of the ranking system.

Well, what Justin and I were talking about was just making tiers. Like Pocky says, it's just a tier list of Norcal players that are NOT ordered within them. To this end, I'd probably go something like:

Yeah like I said before and like Falcomist mention a official ranking would be more possible/viable next year/after the west coast major smash league tournament, but thats not to say a top 10( plus like 2 or 3 honorable mentions) wouldn't be possible.

Too bad you can't make Quakfest Falcomist we will miss your f-smashing marth XD.

pink shinobi has done decent for a while.

he beat lunin a few months ago. he also beat zhu's falco and made him go marth.

he also went to the last ncb and got top 5 i believe.
