Everybody (who can wavedash) knows the feeling: you're standing near the edge, do a wavedash for whatever reason, and you do it just too horizontally so you dodge over the edge, making you fall to your doom. But now there's hope!

I was reading some brawl info on this site: http://www.destructoid.com/hands-on-with-super-smash-bros-brawl-48983.phtml

and somewhere it says that after a mid-air dodge, you can perform your second jump.
So if you wavedash or airdodge over the edge, you can just jump back! Isn't that great!

But theres something else which happens more often, even to the best melee smashers: when you're hanging on the edge, and you want to get back up with a wavedash, you might do the wavedash too vertically so you dodge downwards, making you fall to your doom again. Will this be solved in brawl too? In other words: can you also do an UpB after an airdodge? What do you think?

I thought you can't wavedash in brawl?

Hopefully this is true because it can save you sometimes if you mess up.

The problem with your post is that the people already have to be moving in the direction of the asir dodge, so they probably won't accidently do it off the edge anyway.

Though brawl does seem to be alot less technical than melee...
No wavedash
Auto sweetspot
Auto Lcancel from fastfall
Slower pace
Free smashball (handicap)
Increased DI and freeze frames

I'm sure that brawl will be fun, but I'm also sure that after a few months there will still be a large SSBM competetive community if brawl lacks the depth of skill that melee had, but who knows.

I think brawl will be a great game, but I don't think it will be as advanced in competitions as Melee is. We will just have to see. I'm sure once it comes out new tech will be discovered and it could have all kinds of new depth. Or it may come up short. Hard to say, but Melee is there as a backup and you can't go wrong with that. :)

Yes you can, according to that article I posted in the first post. In melee you can't, obviously.

I didn't know you can't wavedash, but if everybody says so then it's probably true. Still, it's cool that you can jump after an airdodge, and the question remains: can you also perform an upB after an airdodge?
