Microsoft should buy Capcom. Then Microsoft, Rare and Capcom can all rerelease older games over and over again.

I'm much more interested in a new Rare game than a sequel to an old 3D platformer. I think history shows that if they did make another Banjo game, no matter how much work they put into it, people would be disappointed. I think it's good that they're moving forward, making an original IP.

Most of the old Rare staff is gone. Even if they did make a new Banjo-Kazooie, I don't think it'd live up to expectations. It's not the same Rare.

I'm a huge fan of Rare's old works and what happened to Banjo and all the other old Rare IPs is horrible. But at the same time.....I think it's too late for a revival, and it's probably for the best at this point that they all stay dead.

They don't even need Rare though. The new Killer Instinct was developed by a different company entirely, and people ended up liking it. Some say it was even better than the Rare developed KI's. It's just a matter of whether or not Microsoft actually wants to make it.

Banjo-Kazooie is far more unique than Killer Instinct. There's quite a big difference between capturing the feel of KI and capturing the feel of B-K.

Classic Rare were like Aardman (Wallace and Gromit), the humour was just spot on and unique, no other company has ever managed to capture it.

I really do wish that Microsoft would just sell the Banjo IP to Nintendo.. Hell, they should just donate it to them for the good of mankind.

Honestly, I don't know that Nintendo would be able to recreate the humor you're looking for either.

Fair enough, Killer Instinct 3 does have an entirely new feel to it. Modern day Microsoft definitely would not be able to replicate BK.

They're the closest bet, really. Besides Playtonic.

Wut ... were Banjo ?

The 360 retrocompatibility is a nice touch .

The Minecraft Tech Demo was impressive !

But seriously ? Nothing Rare ? Just a Pirate Game ?

Microsoft : 12/20

Microsoft/Current Rare clearly can't. If Nintendo owned the IP then they could let Playtonic work on the games for them.

OK I'll step out of my fantasy world now.

Oh I love Aardman :')

Sounds like the best thing to come from the Microsoft presentation was backwards compatibility, which is something Nintendo's been doing for years. *sips tea*

Lucky sod.
I would love to work there, they put so much time and effort in to their products/ films.
Chicken Run still to this day is in my top 5 favourite film.

So, this is the new place to go now the Leaks thread closed up, huh? Might as well tab the first page on my 2DS, then.

Shantae smashified @ Mikegamer0608 Mikegamer0608 this is pure awesomeness
I think that might be the worst Smashified yet.

It's a good drawing, but it doesn't look like something out of Smash. If they used that instead of the Rayman one in that leak months ago, nobody would've fallen for it. It just looks so flat.

I actually think the one from the Shantae thread is a lot better.

The Shantae Smashified looks nice, but I will agree that it doesn't look like it would fit with the official renders. To be perfectly honest though, I think it looks better than the Banjo one.

I still say Rayman or Inkling are the best.

I think this one is brilliant.
Compared to the smashified one.

i personally enjoy both. One's more cartoony while the other's more realistic.Nice balance and it adds more 3d models to the very few there are

Just my own two cents on this whole Rare nonsense.
I love Banjo. I love Conker. I love all those characters, immersive worlds, redefining games.
They're dead.
We probably won't get another Banjo game. We probably won't get another (true) Conker game. Rare is moving away from its past and to say a formal goodbye to its thirty years of history, they've released Rare Replay. But now they're moving away from that, moving into a territory that they frankly don't even belong in, nor do players want them in. No one in the freaking world's going to want to set sail for hidden riches because they kinda already did that in Wind Waker--
--Seriously, the similarities are uncanny--
--but Rare wants to explore online multiplayer with boring NPCs and missions like Nuts and Bolts
OKAY THAT'S IT
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REASON WHY THIS HAD TO HAPPEN

Honestly none of the smashified pieces of art have been up to the standard of the Rayman, and none of them would have fooled us.
