Maybe I'm just kinda miffed that we got another Eirika when we could have gotten more SS units.
Like Gerik.
Or Tethys.
OR DOZLA!!!
On one hand, I would like to see more characters from their respective games rather than constant repeats of one character. Although admittingly, I don't seem to have a problem with Seasonals. Mostly because they are more fun stuff rather than trying to overtake other characters.
On the other hand, depending on what they do with the repeat character, I could let it slide. I mean, the idea of an Eirika trained by Lyon and using Magic is an interesting take on the character. And Roy taking up his father's sword and riding a horse rather than the Binding Blade, Ike taking up his father's Axe, Lyn referencing her father's bow skills and whatnot.
I mean, the idea of characters with different takes or concepts is not a bad idea by itself. It just clashes with fact and expectations cause while we would like to see characters with different and potentially interesting takes, like if we got a Fallen Chrom from Lucina's time, but it clashes with the fact that we want to see new characters and want the many different characters and casts of the Fire Emblem games to be playable as well. Cause really, if Knoll came out before or with New Eirika and also had Gleipner, we'd probably have a less critical view on her.
There is the possibility that Gleipner will still be given to him if and/or when he comes out, since Heroes with the same PRF weapons aren't uncommon. And not just Falchion. We have Michalis who, last time I checked, never wielded Hauteclere in his main game and yet he wields it in Heroes alongside Minerva.
We have gotten Forges for Linde, Merric, Seliph, Eliwood and Julia that allow them to become their more recent versions from Delthea, Sonya, Sigurd, B.Roy and Deirdre. We are bound to get characters with an already out PRF weapon, like if Ares comes out, I've no doubt he'll have a Mystleteinn like Eldigan.
And that's not even including the fact that Weapon Crafting is a thing. Raven is getting a Prf Weapon from crafting, Basilikos, an Endgame weapon that was used by the character Brandon Reed and could be used by
any character with S-rank in Axes. So characters getting PRF weapons given to them through weapon crafting Is Not Impossible.
