This actually effectively disconfirms Banjo, imo. At least as part of the main roster.
How?
Well.....
Phil said that yes, he'd be willing to let Banjo appear in Smash. "Willing to" strongly implies that it's something that hasn't happened. You don't say you're willing to do something that's already happened.
He certainly wouldn't have said "Yes" to a random question on Twitter like that if Banjo were already in; an NDA would be in place.
And before anyone says "They could add him last-minute!"......The game is allegedly coming out this year, and it has to be in the last stages of development in order to actually make that release window. I don't think there would be enough time to add him, nor do I think Banjo is a big enough name in 2018 to warrant a delay like Sonic did for Brawl. This is coming from a huge Banjo-Kazooie fan who'd love to have him, by the way.
I'm not even sure Sakurai would even humor the idea. Keep in mind that he rejected Banjo for Melee when Rare was with Nintendo.
There's no way he's getting in main roster. BK's been out of focus since Nuts & Bolts, and out of true relevance since the 64 era.
But there's been a minor collectathon resurgence with the hype surrounding Yooka-Laylee and the actual performance of A Hat in Time, which might warrant consideration of a new game.
If it was me in their shoes, I'd hold him back for DLC to gauge interest in the character. If we see him at all, my money's on there.
Banjo is a stupid ****ing character from a dead franchise that people often forget has more than 3 games and if Nintendo were willing to work with one of their major competitors they wouldn't use someone who wouldn't draw in any potential buyers at all. Anyone who thinks Banjo has a shot will GET shot by a nerf gun if they keep pretending that Phil Spencer saying he'd like to see one of Microsoft's competitors heavily advertise a Microsoft IP means anything
Kind of wondering if there couldn't be some kind of Nintendo-Microsoft-Rare collaboration to bring him back.
They've demonstrated they have at least some working relationship with consistent cross-compatibility (hi Sony, have your daily get ****ed!) and consistent support of Minecraft on Nintendo platforms (which may be due to lots of pushing on Mojang's part, but the game's a massive deal for Microsoft at this point, underscoring half their tech projects).
That doesn't make such a game likely. And it's entirely possible that they go the Nuts & Bolts route and release something Xbone exclusive. But Nuts & Bolts flopped, so if they planned on getting any money out of it, that'd be idiotic.
Again, nothing I'd expect to hear about unless we see the already unlikely scenario I outlined above. But you sound like you could use the reduction in your sodium intake, so here, have an itty bitty bit of hope.
This is why I bother bringing up either scenario above.
He could well have ignored the tweet. Stirring the pot will simply bring more conversation and word of mouth.
Primary reason for that would be to gauge interest.
Doesn't mean anything for Banjo besides they haven't forgotten he exists and all my points above stand, including and especially how unlikely any of this is. But I find this maneuver interesting all the same.
Think that's plenty of opinion piece for one day though. Let's drop in on the next topic.
I get that Nintendo wants to prioritize the exclusive indies or those with earlier Switch releases or exclusive content, but when it results in a presentation as dry, short, and underwhelming as that one, they really should be broadcasting to people how games like Hyper Light Drifer and Nidhogg 2 are coming as well, especially if they’re going to be revealed the same damn day. -_-;
Also Hollow Knight and it’s impending release date reveal.
I still think Sakurai would opt to throw Slime into Smash before Geno. I certainly know Square would, since, unlike Geno, we've actually seen DQ characters in Mario games in the past decade.
DQ: Rocket Slime really turned me on to the Slime as a character. The DQs and DQMs I'd played to that point failed to do so, but Rocket Slime succeeded.
I would lose my utter **** if he got in.
Probably trophy at best though. Doubt he'd even be the assist kind.
.....he's very much the kind of character that I expect, but don't actually want. Part of it is because I don't care about ARMS and think an ARMS rep would make for a boring newcomer.
Sorry if I'm a little too small to be entirely of service. I tend to be more about the feel of a hug than the aesthetic myself. It's why I don't really stock hug images but I only feel fully comfortable in bed most of the time if I'm nestled under my bean bag.
Played through most of the Orange Box back-to-back when I first got a hand on it. HL 1 and 2 are related, certainly, but they're still very different beasts.
I dunno if I got that tag. I just randomly stumbled upon footage linked from Kirby of all things. He's way too fast and acrobatic for a tank turtle pokemon. You'd think he'd be a lot slowly and heavy feeling.
I've never played Pokken so I don't know how the game works. So I dunno if that is the norm.
However, I do think Mega Blastoise looks a lot better in the game, especially his ultimate attack thing
Last call for Branded King and I'm sniping reds and blues for Chrom and more F!Morgans respectively.
So naturally, as per protocol established in the Counter banner:
Not once. But twice.
+DEF/-RES and +DEF/-SPD respectively.
****'s sake.
What am I supposed to do with these besides make Professor Pumpkaboo
froth at the mouth?
Yeah yeah, didn't get what I wanted wahh wahh.
+Def/-Spd merfs one of his major advantages for the equivalent of one more piece of defensive tissue paper.
+Def/-Res trades a mediocre stat for an abysmal stat and ends up with two crappy ones.
Boy's got enough trouble slotting in red over Leo if I want a red tome. And if it doesn't need to be a tome, there's Sigurd, Ike, Tiki, Seth, the Black Goddamn Knight...
Yup, Arjuna was the other Archer, and we finally got an actual archer playable. The Archer class isn't really made up of archers.
The other Servant is Darius III as one of the Berserkers, shouldn't be too hard to find his video.
(Was real busy yesterday_
Everyone and their fujo sister expected Arjuna as soon as an archer class servant was confirmed.
Darius was a real left ball choice tho.
Don't know if anyone say it, but since we are in spring, that mean that, we are going to recieve news for the new blade in Xenoblade 2! At any second now!...
A Skill Forge would hopefully make it less of a hassle to get harder-to-get skills and would allow us to get skills exclusive to Seasonals and Grand Hero Battle characters, like B Tomebreaker, Iote's Shield and Grani's Shield. It would also help get some really pesky 5-star exclusive skills like Shield Pulse and Flier Formation.
Actually, you know what another thing they could do for a Skill Forge? Allow 4-stars to get their 5-star skills in exchange for currancy. Seriously, let us have a way of getting Quick Riposte 3 for 4* Subaki without having to pay 20,000 Feathers.
Make it something like 50 Sacred Coins to allow a 4-star character choose 1 skill they learn at 5-star to become available for them. So that way, we can have an easier time getting skills learned at 5-star, like Quick Riposte 3, Guard 3, Cancel Affinity 3, Watersweep 3, Live to Serve 3, etc. As well as + weapons.
And Sacred Coins can work as currency for a Skill Forge, considering we use Sacred Coins as currency for upgrading Skill Seals.
Just a note if you plan on playing through the series, the first game's controls can be a bit wonky at times, but are massively improved in the second and third. Andromeda never happened.
If you have any questions about anything, gameplay, story, etc, just ask. Mass Effect is one of my favorite series ever.

Additonally, admittingly, if I had to nitpick, it'd probably also include the option of upgrading a skill to the next version if the character has 1 and 2, but not 3, or if a character has a weapon, but not their + version. Cause I have too many characters with Quick Riposte 2 as well as regular weapons, like my F!Corrin with a normal Lightning Breath or all of my Gronraven tome users that don't have Gronraven+

The first game, BOTW is a great experience so I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it.
The second game is Mass Effect, but which one? I heard some games in that series were really good.
I never heard about Mass City Rampage DX until you showed it to me.

Says the guy who got bored with it in less than 10 hours
But jokes aside, I agree. It's a really fun game if you enjoy having a lot of freedom in your choices. It's very clear the game wanted to focus on the journey rather than the ending due to the fact that only the Plateau tutorial has any kind of forced linearity in your playthrough (and even then, you're free to tackle it however you want, the only forced part is having to complete it before anything else).
Everything else? Do that stuff if you want, when you want, in the order you want. There's even more than one solution to most things as well. But the game isn't perfect. The enemy variety isn't really the best, the story is pretty lackluster if you don't read the diaries (both base game and DLC) and those Korok seeds... those mother****ing Korok seeds! Still a fantastic game due to its sheer adventure potential though.
DLC adds a decent amout of stuff too. Trial of the Sword gets really creative at times (not to mention its concept is inspired from one of the best Shrine quests) and completing turns the Master Sword into the powerful weapon it deserves to be while the Champions' Ballad really help flesh out the characters, adds some of the best Shrines in the entire game and do I need to mention the bike? Oh, and that boss fight you get from it. Holy ****ing ****, it's so good!

I know, but like Smash, waiting for a game that you love is horrible.
Not to say that they have to release a update in like a week or two, I just want to know more info about it. I have like so many ideas for what that new blade could be, I'm just too excited to play with new toys.
Well.... something tells me it is either really horrible or really good. Hopefully really good....
If you want to see my reaction, you are getting text, not a video.
