Well, it's another day, huh? It honestly feels like time has slowed down rather then sped up at certain points, but that's probably just me again.

And don't worry guys, I made sure to say happy birthday to Coricus yesterday even though it wasn't on Smashboards. :p

Alrighty @Shishœ let's get talking. I've finished the York New City Arc in HxH and am now gonna give my thoughts!

- The fight between the Shadow Beast and Uvo was pretty cool.
- So was the 1v1 between Kurapika and Uvo!
- Phantom Troupe I'm surprised by how they're portrayed. They're murderers but they also care alot for each other. All of them are really out for taking Kurapika down for killing Uvo. Guess that shows how much each of them mean to each other.
- The plan of operation when they were trying to capture the leader was well thought.
- Melody's ability with hearing beyond the normal human was pretty swell.
- LMAO at Hisoka's face when he founds Chrollo couldn't use Nen to 1v1 him.
- Kurapika's badassery and overall character development in the entirety of this arc.
- How every character was used in this arc and all of them were done very well imo.

Yeah I probably missed a couple of more highlights that occurred during this arc but these ones are what stand to me in particular.

What I'm getting at here that since this arc seems to be mainly Kurapika centered, he seems to change alot from it. Before the gang do anything, Kurapika tries to find a way to take down the Phantom Troupe while making sure Gon, Killua and Leorio stay out of it. He always tries to do everything by himself as we've seen. Eventually he accepts the help. After also realizing that his recklessness in pursuit of the Phantom Troupe was also what put Gon and Killua in danger, he manages to find a way to turn this around while prioritizing the safety of his friends. I really liked how he changed during this arc.

Overall, the York New City arc was great! I know I'm done because the narrator says at the end of Episode 58 that the next place to go is Greed Island. I'm excited to see what the next arcs are.

I've been seeing comparisons between Kurapika and Sasuke both story and ability, about how their eye abilities and that they're motivation for revenge for their family clans. But Kurapika is a FAR better and likable character in that aspect than Sasuke. Even though being a better character than Sasuke isn't exactly difficult or impressive.

This is the arc that solidified Kurapika as my favorite(god why was he put in a bus for so long) and I really like the Phantom Troupe as villains.
I don't sympathize with them at all but their reasoning and motivation is understandable. I also like that they act as a group unlike other villainous groups that go solo or in small groups so they can get 1v1'd by each hero.

Also, it's clear Kishimoto took a lot of inspiration from HxH so I wonder if Sasuke being the complete opposite of Kurapika was intentional as a character who'd do anything for his revenge. The problem is that he had no idea where to go from that and it became a snowball without end.
But since I watched Naruto long before HxH, Kurapika ends up being a very refreshing character as he's not willing to sacrifice anyone for his own revenge.

Real-talk, what is a valid description of Kamen Rider?
It looks like Power Rangers, and one character can replicate their DNA, and the other is a Joker. One also has pet a puppy and one gives a thumbs up. That is all I know.
