When I was a mod/admin on AllisBrawl, I had a very loose, hands-off approach to moderating. As long as nobody was intentionally trolling or posting porn, I basically just observed and let it sort itself out. I think that's the best way to moderate; only strike when absolutely needed.

But I swear-- and this is probably just me being old here-- the internet in 2007-2011 was so much tamer than now. There are avatars people use now that would've been a bannable image post back then. Some topics that don't seem at all appropriate for the setting carry on for pages at a time because we're all semi-immune to the crazy fetishes found on the internet.

I enjoyed my time as an admin eight years ago but I would not take the same role now. JFC.

That's why I jumped ship and went to AiB. We got to be fun there.

I remember the day we finally had more active users than Smashboards for the first time and we all celebrated by coming over here and posting **** about it. Which... kind of defeated the purpose, actually.

While I'd totally LOVE a new Punch-Out!!, I do have worries about how people will react with all this social justice warriors **** we're going through now, considering the series' use of stereotypes (then again the arcade Punch-Out!! was ported on the Switch with no complaints despite there's an Italian named Pizza Pasta).

I mean, if they are handled as well as they were in the Wii release, I don't see an issue. I mean, Punch Out Wii's characters had a whole lot of detail and effort put into them that they still felt like characters. Not to mention it was pretty cool to see the majority of them actually speaking in their native language.

Absolutely. They kinda cornered themselves a bit by putting "Brawl" in the name.

The biggest problem was that AiB made its name by incorporating its own social media features, proprietary tournament software, stage sharing and competitive record keeping to make up for Brawl's utter lack of any of that. But that soon became redundant and outdated in the wake of reddit, twitter and Nintendo at least somewhat catching up with the times. They tried to make AllisCrossing and AllisFighter to branch out but it obviously didn't work out.

Unfortunately, we may be getting to a point where it needs stricter guidelines or watch. This time wasn't anyone's fault as it was exclusively a troll (though I don't get why their posts were quoted so much), but the fact that this wasn't the first time it's stepped into topics that are not exactly for all ages and it's been locked multiple times over shows that the thread is consistently getting pulled off the rails and the lesson that should be learned from the hammer coming down isn't getting through. If it happens again then it's clear that the current way it's going isn't working out, and it may be time to lock down the rails and straighten things out.

Kazuki Takahashi still owns the manga, (some?) Monster designs and the characters. Konami just has the rights to distribute and produce the anime, card game and rest of the fluff.

That rest of the fluff DOES count video games though. Now that I think about it, Yugioh is one of the few JUMP licenses not owned by Namco so maybe there is something to that.

Yugi wasn't in J-stars either.

The Social Ultimate thread is basically this thread with a helluva lot more people. I get confused sometimes looking at both.

I have no idea why stuff gets so heated in there though, even moreso than prerelease Ultimate times.

Any lizard or leopard gecko experts? Or experts with bugs? Me and my mother recently did a clean-up on my leopard gecko's cage when:
-I found out that there were black beetles(that, according to what I checked on search, looked like black carpet beetles) that looked like they were going into my gecko's tail.
-I smacked them off just in case they were biting her.
-There was a spot on her tail that looked like there was a wound on her tail.
-I got my mom to check on it and we found out that there were eggs in that spot on her tail.

While these beetles were around in her cage for a while, I never saw them actually doing anything to my gecko until now and I don't know if the beetles actually laid those eggs in her or if they were trying to eat them off. Cause besides the beetles, while we were cleaning her cage, we did find a big spider in her cage that had made a web around the left side of her cage.
I've been trying to look up on search for more information on if there are beetles that put eggs in geckos or whatnot with spiders since we found out about the eggs, but I haven't gotten a clear answer from search yet. I've been trying to find out soon in case these beetles could potentially be dangerous to our cats or dogs.

Anybody have some idea or suggestions to what I should try looking up or whatnot?
