That still isn't WW1
And also

Where do you see WW2 in here?
A lot of the units, I think the Green Earth ones and some Orange Star are based on WW2 tanks and aircraft. The Green Earth CO's themselves are based off European WW2 figures I think (at least Jess IIRC). Kanbei himself is based off a samurai from Feudal Japan.

It's been a long time but I need to check that again lol. But yeah the intro to AW2 gives a very WW2/Cold War vibe so take that as you will.
It's only one of the gems, so no.
Man you'd think you would get control over all of time, space, and reality after eating that but it all amounts to nothing in the end. That's really disappointing.

It's still clearly not set in that time period though. My point is that VC's setting is based off WWI, which really wouldn't fit AW just by comparing the weapons, tanks, uniforms, architecture and so on

Also, currently playing Valkyria Chronicles again.
**** this forest mission, I hate it
I'm currently playing VC4... and...
**** the enemy Grenadiers in some mission lol. Glad you don't have this class in VC1.

And yes, I will get VC1 eventually.
Just beat it lol. All I needed was a few lucky headshots(Nils ****ing hit a goddamn headshot with a Lance the absolute madman).
I really like how VC makes you do side objectives during missions. They aren't given to you or anything, but rather incentives to do more than just the main objective, such as killing certain enemies that have a command star attached to them or taking camps to stop reinforcements.
I also love how much the terrain affects the gameplay, there's your straightforward covers and grass to crawl on but there are also things like elevation that you need to take into consideration(I have the higher ground!) or things like mines. Highlight of this mission was me throwing a grenade at an enemy soldier and sending him to a mine near him, which then exploded lol.

And this is not even getting into the story, characters and wordbuilding. God, I really need to gush more about this game because it's fantastic.
I haven't play VC1 but since VC4 has basically the same gameplay as VC1 (The same world to), I totally agreed with you there for the most part.
I could either go wipe all soldiers before capturing the enemy's camp in order to win, or go more turns and take down all enemies to get more EXP points but this will make your mission rank lower (I think the rank depends on how many turns you make, the less turns the higher rank you will have)

Here are my thoughts on VC4:
Voicing acting for VC4, definitely better than XC2 (I really like Raz in this game where he just swears lol) but I hope this game go with European accent to make it more realistic and authentic to its inspiration from Europe and WWII.

I can't say much about story yet, it's okay but hope it gets better, characters are awesome, worldbuilding gotta be honest... is average and not too feasible for an actual WWII setting. I can still complain that not sure why this setting has no big neutral state... you only have Gallia and that's it... what about other countries or Kingdoms that will take advantage of this war?

That being said, while I need to understand the battle system more and yes this is a bit "comparing apples and oranges" I have to admit Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a great alternative for those who are looking for JRPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but can't stand with the complicated action based battle system, weird voicing acting, and weird designs in the game. That being said, both game still has some fanservice troupes... I highly recommend you play VC4 demo, it's probably the best demo for JRPG on Switch. You can play this demo for at least 5 hours before finishing up to chapter 3.

Funny. I was just playing the VC4 demo the other day and I thought to myself this is exactly how Intelligent Systems would make a new Advance Wars in 2018 lol. In terms of it's aetsthic and setting.
I often consider Valkyria Chronicles series the "Fire Emblem/ Xenoblade" of SEGA lol.
Same with Fire Emblem, Valkyria Chronicles is a tactic JRPG.
Same with Xenoblade, it was debuted on PS3 the 7th gen console from Sony in 2008.
VC's aesthetic wouldn't fit AW at all though, its setting is based off WWI while AW is completely modern.
The game is more based on WWII but more basic world setting... no huge neutral states or anything...

Just bingeing Jojo when I can. You?
Actually decided to practice speaking in front of a camera. I'm a lot more comfortable with speaking to real people and in front of crowds instead of being one on one with just a camera, but it was interesting.

Same, except replace “after shifts” with life in general.
Well that's me as well whenever my mind and body decide to screw with me.

Fair enough. I just got a good laugh thinking this would be the direction IS would take if they ever did return to the series.

Nah, like I said it's pretty much the same...
For that question, you mean air assault bombers? In this kind of war bombers are pretty useless when you have you allies nearby... also there's a huge chance you will get shot down.

And yeah, the Valkyrias, not getting there yet but from what I see they are always the main antagonist in this series.

Also kind of makes you wonder why Valkyria series never gets any backlash while Battlefield V does when it comes to female frontline soldiers in the game... I think this is because Valkryia Chronicles deems as just a fiction world "inspired" by WWII while Battlefield V devs keep insisting that there are female fronline soldiers in actual WWII, when that isn't the case... yes there are female snipers in WWII but in Valkyria Chronicles though all class have both genders.

Hunter X Hunter is pretty good, though at times the pacing is a drag, particularly with the narrator.

I’m nearing the end of the Chimera Ant arc, and that narrator has taken up like 90% of the last few episodes’ dialogue.

Though this seems like a problem specifically for the anime, can’t imagine the manga having this same issue.

Here's a topic for ya'll: if you could erase one enetire show or series from your memory to watch it for the "first" time again, which one would you choose?

Probably Avatar the Last Airbender. The reason being that I haven't seen it since I was a kid and that keeps me from revisiting it.

I'm not that far, but looking at the ratio of the amount of chapters for the chimera ant arc compared to the amount of episodes there are of the chimera ant arc. It definitely seems to be get way more time than the rest of the arcs in the anime.

It's kind of like how in the begging of the green island arc I had a problem with the huge amount of exposition regarding the cards and stuff. Can't imagine it'd be that big of a hassle in the manga where it's easier to skim over stuff. Two different mediums after all.

That is hard to answer. Pretty much any crime drama where the anti hero is the protagonist. Those always offer really good plot twists and edge of your seat situations that are fun to experience.

I’d just choose a crappy show so I could forget I ever watched it... like Johnny Test.

Gravity Falls so I can re-speculate about things.

Seriously, speculation was such an integral part of that show's fun for me and it sadly means the magic vanished after I watched all the episodes.

I'd like to bring that magic back because seriously, that show is amazing. Even more so when you don't know ****. :p

To answer my own question, I'd choose Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I feel like I didn't appreciate the series well enough(part of me rushing through some arcs and part to not being able to watch it with a smooth internet connection) when I first watched it but goddamnit, it's really one of the best anime out there and having the chance to experience that train again would be a blast

Avatar would definitely be a good pick. I wasn't exactly able to watch it fully in chronological order as I was dependent on TV airings so getting the full experience™ would be really fun
I’d just choose a crappy show so I could forget I ever watched it... like Johnny Test.
That kinda goes adainst the question though :v

I think that the speculation really only worked when we had to go months without an episode. Now you can jusr click "next episode" and looking for clues online would just get one spoiled.
