A lot of the units, I think the Green Earth ones and some Orange Star are based on WW2 tanks and aircraft. The Green Earth CO's themselves are based off European WW2 figures I think (at least Jess IIRC). Kanbei himself is based off a samurai from Feudal Japan. That still isn't WW1
And also
Where do you see WW2 in here?
Man you'd think you would get control over all of time, space, and reality after eating that but it all amounts to nothing in the end. That's really disappointing. It's only one of the gems, so no.
Just bingeing Jojo when I can. You?So what has everyone been up to lately?
Just chilling. It's been a few hours after work but I usually feel exhausted physically and mentally after shifts. So what has everyone been up to lately?
It's still clearly not set in that time period though. My point is that VC's setting is based off WWI, which really wouldn't fit AW just by comparing the weapons, tanks, uniforms, architecture and so onA lot of the units, I think the Green Earth ones and some Orange Star are based on WW2 tanks and aircraft. It's been a long time but I need to check that again lol. But yeah the intro to AW2 gives a very WW2/Cold War vibe so take that as you will.

I'm currently playing VC4... and...Also, currently playing Valkyria Chronicles again.
**** this forest mission, I hate it
I haven't play VC1 but since VC4 has basically the same gameplay as VC1 (The same world to), I totally agreed with you there for the most part.Just beat it lol. All I needed was a few lucky headshots(Nils ****ing hit a goddamn headshot with a Lance the absolute madman).
I really like how VC makes you do side objectives during missions. They aren't given to you or anything, but rather incentives to do more than just the main objective, such as killing certain enemies that have a command star attached to them or taking camps to stop reinforcements.
I also love how much the terrain affects the gameplay, there's your straightforward covers and grass to crawl on but there are also things like elevation that you need to take into consideration(I have the higher ground!) or things like mines. Highlight of this mission was me throwing a grenade at an enemy soldier and sending him to a mine near him, which then exploded lol.
And this is not even getting into the story, characters and wordbuilding. God, I really need to gush more about this game because it's fantastic.
I often consider Valkyria Chronicles series the "Fire Emblem/ Xenoblade" of SEGA lol.Funny. I was just playing the VC4 demo the other day and I thought to myself this is exactly how Intelligent Systems would make a new Advance Wars in 2018 lol. In terms of it's aetsthic and setting.
The game is more based on WWII but more basic world setting... no huge neutral states or anything...VC's aesthetic wouldn't fit AW at all though, its setting is based off WWI while AW is completely modern.
Same, except replace “after shifts” with life in general.Just chilling. It's been a few hours after work but I usually feel exhausted physically and mentally after shifts.
Actually decided to practice speaking in front of a camera. I'm a lot more comfortable with speaking to real people and in front of crowds instead of being one on one with just a camera, but it was interesting.Just bingeing Jojo when I can. You?
Ok, actually yeah, I got that confused. The game is more based on WWII but more basic world setting... no huge neutral states or anything...
Well that's me as well whenever my mind and body decide to screw with me.Same, except replace “after shifts” with life in general.
Fair enough. I just got a good laugh thinking this would be the direction IS would take if they ever did return to the series. It's still clearly not set in that time period though. My point is that VC's setting is based off WWI, which really wouldn't fit AW just by comparing the weapons, tanks, uniforms, architecture and so on
I've been binge watching Hunter X Hunter. Already 70 episodes in.Just bingeing Jojo when I can. You?
Nah, like I said it's pretty much the same...Ok, actually yeah, I got that confused.
would expect more bombers in a WWII based story but who needs that when you got valkyries
I guess I’m a more casual binge since I’m 7 episodes into Stardust Crusaders lolI've been binge watching Hunter X Hunter. Already 70 episodes in.
Is that the part you started with?I guess I’m a more casual binge since I’m 7 episodes into Stardust Crusaders lol
Nah I started with Jonathon Joestar’s arc... whatever it’s called. Is that the part you started with?
Ah, so Phantom Blood. I just wasn't sure as some people start with Stardust Crusaders as it's the most popular.Nah I started with Jonathon Joestar’s arc... whatever it’s called.
That's why I want all six of them for the ultimate, almighty snack.Man you'd think you would get control over all of time, space, and reality after eating that but it all amounts to nothing in the end. That's really disappointing.
Well I figure I might as well start from the beginning so I understand all the references.Ah, so Phantom Blood. I just wasn't sure as some people start with Stardust Crusaders as it's the most popular.
Yeah I agree.
Oh shut up.
You have a license for that there -thon?
Who's the Morrigan? :VYeah I agree.
Nobody that I’m aware of. :UWho's the Morrigan? :V
Why is the Morrigan?Who's the Morrigan? :V
Probably Avatar the Last Airbender. The reason being that I haven't seen it since I was a kid and that keeps me from revisiting it.Here's a topic for ya'll: if you could erase one enetire show or series from your memory to watch it for the "first" time again, which one would you choose?
I'm not that far, but looking at the ratio of the amount of chapters for the chimera ant arc compared to the amount of episodes there are of the chimera ant arc. It definitely seems to be get way more time than the rest of the arcs in the anime.Hunter X Hunter is pretty good, though at times the pacing is a drag, particularly with the narrator.
I’m nearing the end of the Chimera Ant arc, and that narrator has taken up like 90% of the last few episodes’ dialogue.
Though this seems like a problem specifically for the anime, can’t imagine the manga having this same issue.
That is hard to answer. Pretty much any crime drama where the anti hero is the protagonist. Those always offer really good plot twists and edge of your seat situations that are fun to experience. Here's a topic for ya'll: if you could erase one enetire show or series from your memory to watch it for the "first" time again, which one would you choose?
I’d just choose a crappy show so I could forget I ever watched it... like Johnny Test. Here's a topic for ya'll: if you could erase one enetire show or series from your memory to watch it for the "first" time again, which one would you choose?
Too lazy to look for a nurse Morrigan, otherwise it'd be me :VNobody that I’m aware of. :U
If I had the ability to erase that show from my mind, I'd do it too.I’d just choose a crappy show so I could forget I ever watched it... like Johnny Test.
Gravity Falls so I can re-speculate about things. Here's a topic for ya'll: if you could erase one enetire show or series from your memory to watch it for the "first" time again, which one would you choose?

Didn’t he already do that game like 5 years ago? Finally watched the last part for Chuggaa's Earthbound Let's Play. Man, it's now my favorite Let's Play of his ever!
Close yet farOh, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is only 50 days away now!
the development between Dipper and Mabel...oh my gos was that perfectGravity Falls so I can re-speculate about things.
Seriously, speculation was such an integral part of that show's fun for me and it sadly means the magic vanished after I watched all the episodes.
I'd like to bring that magic back because seriously, that show is amazing. Even more so when you don't know ****.
Late on that Dock Doki...hope you’ve seen some stuff about it to be prepared>Watching Shokio play Doki Doki for the first time
>Gonna switch to my phone
>RelaxAlax is playing Doki Doki mods
Yo it's Doki Doki season.
Avatar would definitely be a good pick. I wasn't exactly able to watch it fully in chronological order as I was dependent on TV airings so getting the full experience™ would be really funProbably Avatar the Last Airbender. It's kind of like how in the begging of the green island arc I had a problem with the huge amount of exposition regarding the cards and stuff. Can't imagine it'd be that big of a hassle in the manga where it's easier to skim over stuff. Two different mediums after all.
That kinda goes adainst the question though :vI’d just choose a crappy show so I could forget I ever watched it... like Johnny Test.
I think that the speculation really only worked when we had to go months without an episode. Now you can jusr click "next episode" and looking for clues online would just get one spoiled.Gravity Falls so I can re-speculate about things.
