I know Sakurai goes insane sometimes, but he never goes THAT insane.
Considering everything we got so far, 10 palettes per character is starting to feel like nothing.

He gave us every single veteran, Ridley, K. Rool, 34 Castlevania tracks, 103 stages (and there could be more too), rougly 900 songs, managed to make clones look like a good thing, all in one game.

And that's just the freaking beginning.

Man if Skull Kid, Isaac and Geno become playable then all 5 of the characters I wanted but thought never would happen would be playable.

As it stands I still don’t believe this game is real.

Also, reminder that the game has been rated. Which means it's already completed and that the remaining three months is probably only balancing and bug fixing.

And take the time to realize that the game was first teased in March of the same year. Most of the game was already done by the time we got any info on it!

Sakurai's a freaking GOD for pulling that off without getting any leaks until said teaser.

I’m glad we got no spoilers. That would have been pretty lame to get stuff like Snake returning spoiled.

We got 3 months left.

Let's not jinx it.

Just had a thought.

What if we got 10 palettes for every character in Ultimate?

Would make sense with Squad Strike having a 5v5 mode, right?
Depends on how they go about character selection.

Odds are, Red-1 and Blue-1 would both choose their characters first. From there, their match can either start, or the rest of the teams are able to select characters beforehand.

If you have to hit 'start' to lock them in before Red-2 and Blue-2 can select their characters, than the taken alts may refresh and become available again. In Smash 4, if the two of the same character with the same palette were on the screen together, one would be darkened or lightened. So multiple characters with the same palettes wouldn't be too big of a problem.

However, if during the character selection process you end up with all ten player pucks on the screen at once, then 10 palette swaps is certainly possible.

God I'm rusty at classic Mega Man, got a game over and everything.

It's definitely fun though.

That’s...somewhat concerning. Some of the shadows in Ultimate look really jagged, more so than Smash 4's, this is most obvious in Kirby's screenshot, but it shows up several more times throughout. I personally think Ultimate's new lighting makes some characters, especially the more cartoony ones like Wario and Ness, look weird, almost like they're made of plastic. It's nowhere near as bad, but it kind of reminds me of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite's overly shiny models. Smash 4's lighting is flatter, but it's less unsettling in many cases. I was hoping this was just because it was in development, but I guess not.

I mean, they can always fix that.

The game's just fully completed when it comes to content.

Those extra three months? They're there to polish off the rough edges.

So, in a way, it's not as concerning as you think. Much better than just releasing it as soon as it gets a rating.

Damn this is really good. Every model is on point and I can’t even think of anything wrong here. Not to mention it would explain why we haven’t seen poke floats yet.

Hope it’s real
"Bandana Dee" is one tell.

Plus clipping and lighting issues people found.

Here's a new very likely fake hoax.

Pretty good effort though.
Looks really weird. The lighting on the characters is inconsistent, Skull Kid looks oversized compared to Dee, and Skull Kid is in his iconic floating cross-legged pose, just angled sideways.

Poke Floats 2 looks cool, though.

If it's fake, kudos on whoever did this. They put effort into it and it shows.

Plus, they don't purposefully make their screenshot potato quality. Another good point in my book.

Yeah Skull Kid is... weird looking.

So is Dee though.

Those are all pretty minor all things considered.

Someone did point out that the Kirby warp star icon is not tilted which is a pretty big mistake

And BBTAG is getting a patch, mostly minor stuff.

Best Girl got great buffs.

Trying Mega Man 11 on Switch and ehhh I'm mixed.

The new mechanics are cool in theory but the problem is they force it on you way too much, which is counter-intuitive because both the Power Gear and Speed Gear share the same cooldown and if you overheat, it takes ages to recharge, and you have to wait for a full recharge after an overheat.

There are many sections in the level where Speed Gear is literally mandatory to pass an obstacle but if you are playing for the first time and don't know about them and run in with like, half Double Gear charge, you're either taking damage or straight up getting insta-killed depending on the obstacle. Speed Gear also makes Mega Man and his shots move slower too. I feel like he should be a little faster during it. This screams of the sloppy design from Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 3, and that one obnoxious boss in Mega Man 2 where not having enough of your special weapon left going in would screw you over in some situations, only it's with your gear meter. The only saving grace is that at least Double Gear auto charges, but it charges quite slowly especially after an overheat, to the point where the only safe way to play the game is to wait a good ten seconds or so for the gauge to fully recharge whenever you are safe.

Sliding is also really finicky this time, half of the time he stops as soon as the sliding animation starts and I don't know why.

IMO the main fixes they need to implement are either not have mandatory Speed Gear puzzles and just have it be a helpful mechanic, or just greatly buff the Double Gear recharge time. Power Gear is pretty useless right now since you need Speed Gear so often, at least as far as this one level is concerned. The mandatory puzzles are at odds with the sluggish recharge time of the Double Gear.

Also there seems to be a notable input delay and sometimes I get random, but severe performance drops that at least half the frame rate for a good few seconds. It's not even in specific problem areas of the level, it seems completely random. I don't know for certain but I'd wager those are Switch specific issues.

I've tried for close to an hour to beat it and haven't even reached the boss yet. I was planning on recording a run but I've done three recording takes so I'm worn out.

Also you fight the mini-boss twice and it's health is pretty beefy and once again, they want you to spam Speed Gear to the point it's easy to get stuck in cooldown, especially if you weren't fully charged going. Overall the stage is a long slog.

Not really related but I thought this was funny.

The Mega Man 11 demo is not bad. Still shows I suck I Muga Mon games.

Also, I highly doubt Sakurai would show up for the Direct.

Got to the boss.

He seemed real easy.

Then he went full Kaiju and regained health.

I died.

That gif happened to me on one run lol.

Made it a point to always destroy that mook ever since.

Yeah no these performance and input drops are really getting on my nerves.

Hopefully the PS4 demo is better but I'm not sure I'll even bother booting up my PS4 for it.

And of course r/MegaMan downvotes you and tells you to git gud if you point out any flaws with the game.

When it comes to the final minor fixes, I really hope they out more effort in Young Link's design. Mainly his expressions. Sakurai stated that characters are more expressive this time around, and I don't want to play the angry milk child who smirks like billy badass after a drink.

I mean, I will regardless but come on, fam.

So this was the opposing team that I faced in my last Fire Emblem Heroes match:

An entire team of Ryomas! Yeah, I knew where this was going...

Literally, three dancing lobsters were just waiting behind the fortress and started dancing in unison when Ephraim barged in.

Thankfully, Ephraim beat them all with his superior dance moves!

Beat the MM11 demo, really enjoyed it.

Died more times than I'd like to admit lol, but never really felt it was the game's fault. Gear system is pretty fun to mess around with, I like that the Power Gear alters move properties. I also like that Rush has his own dedicated button now.

Block Man threw me for a loop. Beat his giant phase with a little bit of health left, thinking it was over... and then he has a 3rd phase and I ended up dying lol. Definitely a learning experience there.

All in all, I'm sold on the full game... which I didn't even realize was coming out so soon lol.

I love sleeping but wake up that means immediately I have to go to work.
