Been through the main story since before vacation, actually.
Mikhail's characterization I'm fine with, but there was something about his performance in his early scenes that just seemed...off. I remember leaving the first battle with him and Patroka thinking their VAs phoned their performances in. Rewatching the scenes, doesn't seem like that exactly, but it's still somehow...sloppy.
Maybe it was a result of trying to match their performance to the characters' lip movements - Mik, at least, seems to get markedly better when he doesn't have to, which we makes him a great deal better in some of his later scenes. Doesn't seem to matter as much for Patroka, though, who's just kind of overall atrocious.
Actually, this is a good point.
In the English Dub, even the better one, all the character have atleast one scene where their perfomance sound just...weird or even bad. And like you said, this is probably due to the actor trying match the Japanese lip movement, which end up causing more problem than anything else.
In fact, the best perfomance are either when the lips aren't shown, or the in-battle dialogue. Since there is no lips to match, you can definitly feel that the actor's voice are much, much better at selling their lines.
But I admit that Mik sound weird at the start, but he get wayyy better at the story progress, Patroka tho...well, her VA did a fine job with Agate. So I don't know what they were trying with Patroka, but then again, she sound alright in battle.
Malos's voice tho, even if he has a sloppy moment or two, his voice is just a
joy to listen to, I love it.
Not to mention Ganon might get a ****ton of buffs everywhere else.
We already see that with his aerials having so much less langing lag. Neutral air's in particular almost seems inexistant.
Yeah and, you know, the game isn't finish, so changes are always a possiblity, just sayin'...
