Y’know Nintendo should make a strategy rpg using pokemon. There’s 800 of them so they could keep the game from getting stale too!

Running +Res Handbell+ with Glacies and Quickened Pulse Seal would yield a similar outcome?
It should. Though at that point using the Handbell would feel a bit pointless to me, since it's better suited to a defensive build than an offensive one, and losing Quick Riposte means you lose the ability to play mixed-phase somewhat.

I feel like Splatoon 2 is... Confusing.
You gotta use your instincts.

I don't think while I'm playing, Shiny, I just go. I mean I get creamed against any S/S+/X tier player as a result, but I'm at least functional...ish.

Welp, I finished all 8 stories from Octopath Traveler. Even though I'm pretty sure I still have stuff to do, I'll give my impressions on the game, and on the spoiler I'll talk story related stuff.

So first I'm going to say that Octopath Traveler is my first turn based JRPG. I've played games like Pokémon and Mario & Luigi that could be considered turn based RPGs, I played real time JRPGs with Xenoblade, and strategy RPGs with Fire Emblem, but never a "normal" RPG like Octopath. Coming from a noob experience, I really liked it! Battle system felt really cool, the boosting mechanic and the breaking mechanics were really well implemented in my opinion, and the boundaries of the combats were expanded in different ways with every new boss battle. Possibly the worst part were the random encounters, but it's a minor nuisance.

One of the best part is the presentation, it's beatifully done. However I must say that the sprite graphics are both a blessing and a curse. They are good because they make it stand out, makes the game more memorable, and some sprite artwork it's really beautiful. However, some story scenes would have been way better if they were 3D modeled, because the limitation of the 2D sprites really took away the effect they could have had. I have no complaints about the enviroments though, those really stand out.

I also enjoyed the music and voice acting. Apart from the combat themes which are great, I really loved that they gave each character their own theme. That's something I really enjoy from fighting games, so having that in this game was certainly a joy, because having certain cutscenes with their themes in the background felt good. And the voice acting was on point, specially for Olberic, Alfyn and Cyrus.

Now moving into story points, I'm going to rank the stories from favorite to least favorite, but of course in spoiler. If any of you guys have finished Octopath I'd want you to read the part at the end because it's something I want an answer for
1- Olberic: it was the first story I finished and my favorite. Olberic it's a really cool character, and seeing him travel to find the reason why he's fighting was exciting. That duel on chapter 3 was probably my favorite part.
2- Primrose: "My name is Primrose Azelhart, you killed my father, prepare to die". It's a simple story, but very effective, specially because Prim is a really good character. I liked that the story tried to go to the cliché of "did revenge really fulfill your heart" and all that, but she went trough with everything. I still don't know what the hell Prim's father knew so he had to be killed, I'm guessing it will have to do with the question at the end.
3-Cyrus: he's a mix of Miles Edgeworth and Layton, with all the logic and puzzle solving, and I loved him. He was also rather funny with his problems with girls. And he ended up not giving Therese the d, that was the only bad part about the story.
4-Alfyn: "We like Greg Chun". God Alfyn is such a likeable character, even though his story wasn't anything special, it made me get sentimental. Nothing special I can say about him.
5-Therion: the search of the 7 3 dragon balls stones. The highlight for me was the relationship between Cordelia (WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHY AREN'T YOU A RED HAIRED) and Therion. It ended with the typical "you have nothing because you are alone in life", but Olberic story also did that so whatever.
6-H'aanit: she was my least used character in the game. She's a good girl, but it was a bit boring. Also I don't understand the point of chapter 3, I got some herbs to fight the red-eyed monster but I didn't need them at all during the fight lol.
7-Ophilia: pretty boring and really predictable. I admit that the ending was really sweet and touched my heart a bit, but Lianna and Ophilia did some stupid things... I really hate when characters do stupid stuff lol.
8-Tressa: "The real treasure was the journey we made all along!". Complete filler and irrelevant story, I couldn't care less for Tressa lol. I did use her on my party quite a lot, but still, I didn't enjoy her story too much.

And now, for you guys who have finished the game, the question...

Where the hell is the Gate of Finis???

I thought there would be a special chapter where all the characters stories collided because it got mentioned in several stories. Some of them leave plot point unresolved (Why the hell did they kill Primrose's father, what happened to the apothecary that saved Alfyn, why was it important the diarie of Tressa, where did the Red-Eyed monster came from, what the hell were the cultist from Ophilia's story), and in 3 stories they mention it specifically. Cyrus' story was all about it, Olberic got betrayed because apparently the Gate was there in Cornburg (Or however it's said, they localized the names so I don't know if that's properly translated), and the 3 dragon stones Therion get are for opening the gate of Finis. I refuse to believe this game was planned to have a sequel, so where it's that gate? Maybe none of you have the answer though, I dunno.

So that's my Octopath experience, good 60 hours to finish. I'll try play a little more since there's some stuff I missed, but I don't think I'll try 100% it or something like that. I recommend it, was a fun expierence. I don't know what to play next though, hum...
I have yet to even buy the, so glad that you have finish the stories.
I on the other may take more time to play Octopath Traveler once I got it.

For now though I can only play XC2...
Actual XC2 gameplay in handheld mode:

...Eeeeeeeh.

Out of the SRPGs I've played (So like three bashed FE titles and Disgaea 5 other than this), Pokemon Conquest was by far the most dull out of them all. Kind of proved the opposite point to me that pureblood Pokemon crossover spinoffs are boring as sin.

It used to be that I didn't do multiplayer due to **** internet. Now it's because of my sleep and work schedule, unless people are willing to play from MIDNIGHT TO 6AM!!!

I just acclimate myself to singleplayer

Yeah, everyone is gonna mention Conquest but I reall feel like Nintendo should cross over their franchises more often.
A Pokemon game with FE's gameplay would be amazing, especially if they just set it up like any other Pokemon game, you explore a region, fight gym leaders, catch Pokemon; except it's a turn-based RPG.

Inversely, a FE game where you fight and "recruit" FE characters ala Pokemon would be dope too.

I don’t want a game like Pokemon Conquest. I’d like like Mario + Rabbis but with only pokemon.

So are there odds of us playing other modes of Spla2n?

I mean Turf War is always fun but it doesn't hurt to spice things up once and a while.

And there's no way Pokechu is SS tier in all modes

Salmon Run is always a good time, even though it involves less players.

Still, wouldn't mind doing the other multiplayer modes either.

Salmon Run is a good time until I walk in at the top possible rank from a bunch of good runs and everyone else is a step above newbie and we all get rekt, LOL

I'm 30 minutes into Ghost in the Shell and I don't know if either it starts slow but I'm not really getting why it's considered such a revolutionary film.
Either I'm missing some context amd this is just like Ocarina of Time where time didn't do it any good or it's like OoT and people overrate it.
I'm not saying it's bad, that's the last thing I'd use to describe it. But I just can't see it as this masterpiece everyone claims it to be.
It handles robotics themes much better than most modern stories but it's really just a nice political cyber-futuristic drama.
"Time didn't do it any good."

That's what happens when you're so revolutionary that everything that comes after you builds on your success.

Remove Ghost in the Shell from the lexicon and you fundamentally change the entire face of anime. Hell, remove Ghost in the Shell and you fundamentally change the landscape of American blockbuster cinema. Same with OoT and video game design.

If you think a hugely influential title is overrated, you just can't see the forest for the trees.

One reason why I like TF2 was because the animations that they made on YouTube were hilarious.
Everyone was likable and had their own funny personality.
