Good night everyone.
How do you all feel about me?
Do you think I should leave SmashBoards forever or do you think I am a really amazing guy?

I think you should stop thinking about what others think about you.

Before I go to bed and you all talk about how I will become the next president and change the world in a good way Octopath stuff, I have a question for you all.

What are the pros and cons of me?
You're cool...
Really? I am quite warm actually.
Naah I am just kidding. Thanks.

One thing I have a hard time doing is appreciating myself. Like the only noteworthy thing is that I do very good in school and that is it.

I haven't enjoyed most of what I've played on it so far unlike on Wii U. Mario Odyssey was great but it's nothing mindblowing and I don't think it's the masterpiece critics made it out to be. Four weeks in and I was done with the game 100%. I only own 3 Wii U ports myself and those were purchased for specific reasons. I have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which was the only game I had along with the system for a month until Splatoon launched (the system was a gift) since it had no games, and the first two Bayonetta games were only purchased again because of how much I enjoyed playing them on Wii U. Though nothing will beat the first time playing them, the portability of the system allowed me to go in-depth with the two games, specifically the first one with its last two difficulties.

Paid online, while reasonable from a business standpoint, was instrumental in creating my pessimism way back in January last year. Smash is just another multiplayer game and while I'm looking forward to it like everyone else it's not something to lose my **** over unless I like paying for simple online functionality. Got the funds needed for that junk (Nintendo Switch Online, not Smash Bros.) so I'm ready regardless. It's going to be great. After playing Splatoon three months straight after launch, I found myself getting bored of multiplayer titles (ARMS, Mario Kart, Splatoon, and now Smash coming out) on the thing, but they keep shelling those out. Not that I mind, but I'm not too interested in "sharing the joy" or whatever. Not stating facts or whatever, but I don't think it's that great a system at the moment. It's more on the mixed side. Right now I look forward to Smash again as I mentioned and not much else. I hope they come up with something redeeming for 2019. I do want to fix something that might be a key part on my pessimism and that's my **** taste in games. If I could play Bayonetta and that was out of my comfort zone, then it's best I try other things too. Don't know where to start though. Personally based on the games and the games alone, I'd consider Wii U to be the more enjoyable system right now. Maybe I just bought one at the right time and not at launch, which is why I don't say it's a piece of trash like most Nintendo fans do. Anyway it's just my opinion, not something big to be honest. Just because it's selling well doesn't mean it'll appeal to 100% of the population. Or maybe that's how I see it in my awful view of the world.
20 bucks for a year's worth of Switch Online ain't bad at all IMO, especially since I only bought a Switch for Smash Bros. in mind. Though I'm not particularly a fan of other online-centric games. Didn't like ARMs when I played with a friend, I'm **** at shooters like Splatoon, and I feel like MK8D would be barren since I predict a new Mario Kart would be coming within the next few years. I read up on it too, by default Switch Online is going to give a bonus for those who subscribe, basically competitive online NES games is the tl;dr.

Yeah the library of games isn't that much as of now, and not many multiplatform titles don't seem that appealing because of the Switch's obviously inferior specs. I don't think Nintendo should keep going on the track of being inferior on purpose, even if it was the late Iwata's philosophy that graphics don't matter. Maybe not for their first parties, but I think to compete with third party multiplatform titles it definitely has to present itself.

The only games I intend to buy during the period between now and Smash's release was Odyssey (done and 100%'d) and BoTW. Anything else would really just be extra depending on the circumstance. If I'm really really really bored, I could buy Hyrule Warriors DE since I know for a fact it has so much content it would likely keep me until Smash is out and I wouldn't even be able to 100% it by the time it releases. If Super Mario Party has online, I'm going to buy the **** out of that, and if not I won't even touch it.

So who else here is keeping up with the DuckTales reboot?

Mostly asking out of curiosity. :p The show's been pretty great so far, for the most part.

Good night everyone.
How do you all feel about me?

Lol, true.
You really shouldn't be asking us if you'd be better off not being on this site.

It's one thing to ask how people feel about you. Getting some constructive criticism or advice can help, but also remember that everyone's flawed and different, so you don't need to try changing anything or think less of yourself for every last negative thing people may have to say about you. But whether you'd be better off not being on the site very often or not, that's something only you can determine. Nobody here wants you to just leave, I can say that with confidence.

Really? I am quite warm actually.
Naah I am just kidding. Thanks.

It might be one of the only noteworthy things you can think about yourself, but doing well in school is still most certainly not something to just be taken lightly.

Well, of course it isn't that bad considering the price, but what I'm really against is locking basic features behind a paywall. Things even a toaster or Raspberry Pi can do for free. Since Nintendo is a corporation with the sole goal of making money like any corporation, they give no ****s about their consumers and do whatever it takes to get their way. Taking that into account, I very much expect them to increase the subscription price one way or the other. Either later during Switch's lifecycle, or for the successor. Like some people say, the price is only $20 because Nintendo tried to "save face." Their reputation, really. I don't believe them a single bit on what they say about this service. I'll only pay because I have to if I want to play games online. This isn't just meant for Nintendo but for the other two as well. I hate that practice and would even proceed to do something as ridiculous like pitching a bill to someone that prohibits corporations from locking basic features behind paywalls, if I had the resources. Like I mentioned, I've already got $40+ on my Nintendo Account funds, so part of that will go for this year and the next will go for 2019-2020. Using the other two monthly subscriptions isn't worth it. I'd say they're robbing you for those. If it's so cheap like most shills say it is, then just pay the $20.

I get new Nintendo systems to play the latest Nintendo software (duh). Although part of why I got a Wii U was because of Smash Bros. (plus Mewtwo, which was free through an offer). I learned the hard way that buying systems for one game isn't worth it through my Xbox 360, which I later sold to a pawnshop after one and a half years of usage. Luckily, when I got my Wii U, Smash Bros. was already out for a month and there was a library shaping up, so it was the best time to get one and I don't regret it. I like ARMS, but I play it with my Pro Controller. Splatoon got old fast because of what I mentioned (playing for three months straight) and when I go back to it, I don't seem to miss much. Mario Kart is fun as always but can get boring. Apparently it was Gunpei Yokoi who came up with the philosophy during the Game Boy, but it still applied after his passing on Nintendo's products. While I'd say Nintendo is doing their own thing with Switch (like any other console they've released after GameCube) they did design it in a way that's very friendly for third-parties. The NES games for Switch Online don't interest me too much. The idea of modified NES games with online sounds cool, but it came out too late, and plus with my disappointment it doesn't do anything to change my mind. I'd just pay to play the games I own online and that's it. Emulators already have this feature (netplay) so it isn't really new.

I actually don't mind BotW for Switch, and with a save data transfer tool (Wii U to Switch and vice versa) for that game with homebrew, both of which exist, I'd give it the go-ahead. However, doing it poses several risks, one of which is getting your Switch console banned from Nintendo servers. So right now, doing that isn't worth it, but I'm fairly optimistic that the guys at the homebrew scene will find a way to change that. I never played Hyrule Warriors and my only experience with it was when I played on a Wii U retail unit inside a demo kiosk (yes, really) in November 2014 and was confused with what to do. This cemented my Wii U purchase and I began saving up. But back to HW, maybe I was confused because you've got this horde of enemies. This same Wii U unit had the Bayonetta 2 demo installed already, but I chose not to play it because I was in public and thought people would lose their minds about it for obvious reasons. So my interest on that goes way back.

You betcha. Super Mario Party will have an online mode, but that's for the minigames only, not the full boards. I think the problem is how can you go through player turns on a board online without anyone getting disconnected.

Hey, it's your boy-but-not-really, Blue. Who is writting on his phone.

Just wanted to say I bought Kirby Star Allies & Fire Emblem Echoes.

Kirby was because I needed something happy and easy, FE was because I got it cheap and because I was interested in the game for awhile.

Also, not counting warrior and revelation, I have every FE on 3DS. Funny coming from a non-FE fan like me.

On that, see ya later.

Probably won't buy it then. I don't mind the whole minigames online thing, but not being able to play actual modes and boards online detracts me. I mean, I don't even have friends who know what Mario Party is. I know it sounds pretty rough to play online straight for like an hour at least, but I can dream.

Hryule Warriors is good though, you just have to get used to the controls and how to play a Dynasty Warriors game. I had the 3DS version and got far into the story, but never did much of the maps (like, the big chunk of content for the actual game) and eventually got lost in the sea of rampant DLC. I gave it to a friend because I knew I wasn't going to buy the even more ****ton of content that would come out, plus I got a little bored because I was playing it constantly (plus it was the 3DS running this gigantic game, framerates were an issue). But with the Definitive Edition, everything's already there for you and I can guarantee it's a blast from how much I played it. I think I played Ganondorf and Toon Link the most, they just made fighting so not monotonous with their playstyles.

If mother****ing Jirard can't even complete it, it's definitely a worthwhile experience I think.

I still want octopath but because it's sooooo long and it will take me longer than most to finish all stories I think it will have to wait until next year. Still want Splatoon DK and hyrulr warriors too but no time haha.

Also just got premium!

I am restarting BOTW because my other account is boring.
Going to pick up DLC soon.
You told me you HAD the DLC yesterday.

Now you're telling me you don't have it at all?

Which is it?

oh yeah
i forgot botw had dlc

That's gonna really hurt cause I normally don't buy DLC. I just hope it isn't my face about it or I'm missing a lot from probably not getting it.
Korok Seeds are less of a ***** with the DLC because Korok Mask.

Glad we are having a Hardin banner, but waaah I want another Legendary Hector banner.
Stop being greedy.

How do you all feel about me?
Do you think I should leave SmashBoards forever or do you think I am a really amazing guy?
I'll be honest, I think neither of those things.

I don't think you're really amazing or outstanding, but given that you're in a period of self-discovery where you're likely not sure where to go or what to do, it's not exactly a bad thing that you're not amazing yet. But I don't think you should leave the boards unless you want to.

What are the pros and cons of me?
Let's start with the cons so we can end on a good note.
  • You constantly use the victim card whenever bad things happen to or because of you
  • You can never pick up context in a post
  • You never think before posting, leaving to many upsetting situations, most notably the one in Shish's second Mafia game
  • You're constantly seeking for attention
  • You're a drama queen, constantly making a mountain out of a mere road bump
  • You try to imitate us instead of just being yourself despite us saying this very advice to you at least a hundred times
  • Speaking of... you never listen to our opinions despite the following con
  • You're extremely dependant on the opinion of complete stangers, to the point where you value theirs over your own family's (which, again, isn't saying much since you don't listen to us in the first place)
  • You're self-deprecative in ways that aren't even used for humor, instead being solely about beating yourself up (a lot less than before, yeah, but not completely gone)
  • You barely changed during your two-week hiatus because you didn't even make any effort to work on yourself despite the fact that it was the exact reason you took that hiatus to begin with
As for the pros...
  • You do fantastically well in school. Keep it up and your future's gonna be brighter than most of the NintenZone, I'm sure of it. (It's already looking brighter than mine...)
  • When none of the cons apply, you're a pretty sweet kid just trying to fit in with a bunch of cool people (I can say kid, I'm an adult :p), which is kinda cute in and of itself.
  • When you're not thinking too hard about copying us, you can be pretty funny. Especially the times where you're unintentionally savage.
Sorry if it's lacking in the pro department. I've grown pessimistic enough from life experiences and being poorly raised and that it's become a challenge for me to find any positive stuff about anyone, myself included. But I made the effort, so that's something, right?

One thing I have a hard time doing is appreciating myself. Like the only noteworthy thing is that I do very good in school and that is it.
Dude! I would literally KILL for good grades because I've been having consistent **** grades for the past 3 years, which culminated in me being forced to choose another field to study on.

I LITERALLY LOST A ****ING DREAM BECAUSE I COULDN'T BE GOOD AT SCHOOL!

A dream I ended up realizing I might not have wanted it in the end, making it a lot less impactful to have lost it, but still, I lost a dream and need to rethink about what I need to do, where I need to go, years after I should've already done that kind of thinking.

So "doing very good in school" is definitely not something to just cast aside like it was nothing, especially if you're a straight A student as you so claim because that's some freaking good **** that's far from easy right there. I very rarely, if ever got even a single A!

Your school grades should be making you ****ing proud of yourself, not the opposite.

Okay, you do not look like Chris Pratt at all.
Told you I wasn't that handsome lmao

I have a feeling that we're not getting any Smash news this month.
I really hope I'm wrong.

This whole selfie conversation made me remove the one selfie I posted from the selfie thread, and it was only the upper half of my face.
Should give you an idea about how much I'm willing to share with you guys, at least for now.

Welp... I am a man of my word, so...

You weren’t kidding about a ****ty camera. I can barely see you lol

So Yo Kai Watch is kinda retooling itself, embracing some of the horror elements it had before. Even the mascots of the franchise got redesigns.

I actually really like this. It helps it stand out from the other monster collecting franchises by not being too cutesy (Pokemon) or too "cool" (Digimon). Plus it ties into Yokai mythology better.
Jibanyan looks weird lol

By "long" I meant "boring".
I have basically nothing to do today other than posting on Smashboards, playing video games and watching stuff on Netflix.
Lol really? I wish I could do any of that instead of going to a workplace full of ****ing idiots. :V

You know what I meant.
Let’s wait until the 22nd before saying that.

That one leak, as insane as it is, got some stuff right and made some bold predictions (such as mentionning Lt. Surge instead of Misty before the latter was shown) that are now actually plausible.

I don’t believe in it, but it’s got credibility.

Normally I would agree with you but I learned that socializing >>>>> sitting on my ass all day doing nothing.
I love video games, don't get me wrong, but they get boring after a while of doing nothing but playing them.
Besides I spend more time here on Smashboards than actually playing video games. Didn't even properly start my Ultra Moon playthrough...

Cuphead completely kills it, imo. The devs stated that it's gonna be exclusive to Microsoft platforms.
Also, it's in 8 days.... those 8 days are going to be reaaaaaally long.

The reason I haven't started my USUM playthrough yet is because I don't know what to do with my team.
Like, I have a specific set of favorite Pokemon from Alola, but I've already used most of them in Sun and I'd rather use Pokemon I haven't used before...
Decidueye is the exception but there's a reason for that (plus I originally wanted to use Primarina or Incineroar), but aside from him the only Pokemon I know I'm going to use on my team is Palossand since he's one of my favorite Alola Pokemon that I haven't used before.
For the record, my team in Sun was Decidueye, Crabominable, Alolan Raichu, Lycanroc, Salazzle, and Golisopd.
Help?
