honestly it's someone's own money so if something doesn't appeal to you, don't buy it

however, I will say that if someone likes the current game enough (as is) to buy it, but their least wanted/hated newcomer is announced, then it would be silly to pass up this Smash game; one character (that you don't even have to play) shouldn't invalidate the game you were already interested in in my opinion. every time i've said "x, y, and z have to be in or i wont buy!!!" it was jokingly.

but it is someone's money so really anything is valid

This is a difficult question.
On the one hand, yes, I do think the game looks great and I would definitely want to play it.
On the other hand, the roster is certainly an important aspect of it in my opinon. I may very well skip a Smash game if I don't like the roster, and this time there's one character that could seriously hurt it for me.

Who is the most powerful blade in XC2 in your opinion?

I'll be the only one to give a serious answer.

Lore-wise, it's Pneuma and Malos because they're Aegis', the former with reality bending abilities and the latter with unlimited destructive power. Not counting them, it's Jin and Nia. Jin's abilities are frankly stupid with him being able to move at light speed and manipulate elementary particles. Nia has healing abilities that work on a cellular level and has absolute control over them, demonstrating that she can literally give people super cancer with that ability. And it even works on Blades and Aegis' (it just doesn't kill an Aegis, but it can still keep them in check. Nia just unlucky in that Malos didn't fall off the cliff). She also revived Niall who was actually dead with her power.

In terms of gameplay, there's a lot of really strong Blades but I would say Mythra, Nia, Poppi Alpha, Poppi QT Pi, Shulk, Fiora, KOS-MOS, T-elos, are the best and all you would ever need. All for varying reasons that would take too long to get into.

Also an honourable mention to NG+ Pandoria on Zeke, as well as Sheba on Zeke. The former because of the Eye of Shining Justice ability, and the latter for that situational OHKO build that you can make with her.

I was going to pass on this game if Wolf wasn't in it. Smash 3DS/Wii U left a real sour taste for me, to the point where I wasn't even super excited for the game when it was announced. So I'd say backing out if a specific character isn't in it is fair. There were several characters that I sincerely hoped wouldn't return to Smash, and honestly, if it weren't for the idea of every character ever returning, I don't know if I'd be in for the game.

I'm gonna give a little bit of tough love here, but yeah this is irrational because think about it.

You are actually not in control of your feelings here, you are letting someone else, an outside source dictate not only your feelings for a character, but feelings for a game that is much more than this mere one character.

You need to take a step back and reassess your feelings and realize you are being controlled by a memory that has nothing to do with the game, nor the character.

I think it might be pretty petty, but in the end, it's your money, you can spend it however you'd like for the reasons you want.
