I know deep down that someone IRL would enjoy Mythra slapping me.
I'd enjoy it only if it makes you realize how what you're saying makes no sense and does more job at insulting Mythra than it does at beating yourself up, which it still does a good job at.

He's not out to annoy or destroy you, at all. None of us are. But the combination of you taking our posts literally and how sensitive you are means that pretty much every post we write to you has a chance of being perceived as a personal attack, whether we like it or not.

And I don't like the fact that I might be insulting you when it's FAR from my intention. But I'm still taking the risk of talking to you anyway, mainly because I'm an idiot, but also because I'm sure that, eventually, you'll be able to change... hopefully.

It does make no sense.
I lost all direction in life, okay?
Also you are not insulting. You are fine.
Honestly, maturity is your only hope for me changing. Because it is very difficult for me to change.

Heroic Sacrifices are best when two conditions are fulfilled.

A) There is a connection between the sacrificed and the one being taken down by the sacrifice. It can't be a character just cashing in on sacrificing themselves for extra last minute plot armor. The act of mutual destruction has to be intimate enough to justify their plot armor expending themselves together.

B) There ought to be meaning from not only the fall of the villain, but of the protagonist being gone as well. If the end result is not affected by their death then the reasoning for it really just comes down to the author trying to have a stronger emotional impact on the reader from the climax.

I agree on senseless sacrifice, the only gain from it can be to show the reader and other characters that a certain method, typically the assumed/standard method, no longer works, so their death amounts to a lesson and the beginning of a dilemma. However, that can be achieved without a Senseless Sacrifice. Someone can perhaps still die but I'd probably be more inclined for it to just be a fatal error rather than voluntarily offering up their life; otherwise, sacrifices have their meaning undermined when instead the author could be adding weight to making mistakes in the cast's situation.
Yeah I agree with that. The trope is only largely fulfilled when there's a strong connection between the hero and the villain who the sacrifice is done on. Or alternatively it could be another hero in the story who's also strongly connected to the villain somehow. Like the story builds to a huge conflict between he two characters before a final showdown where the hero gives up his life to take down the villain once and for all.

And yeah, there has to be meaning for both characters dying. A lot of fictional works have the tendency to just bring back the hero or villain after a sacrifice has been done and your left wondering why that was even done in the first place. One example I can think of from the top of my head is Vegeta's sacrifice in the Buu Arc. It accomplished jack and the villain was totally unharmed. Vegeta would also return later on in the arc making that whole sequence worthless.

The only time where I think doing a Senseless Sacrifice is fine is when the villain prevents said hero from performing the sacrifice. Like maybe the hero has everything all figured out but the villain being the slimy schemer figures out a way to stop said sacrifice and even get an even greater advantage over the hero(es).

Chutes and ladders? Chutes and mother flipping ladders!?

Bruh it’s Snakes and ladders!
A new debate has sparked.

Are they chutes or are they snakes?

:troll:

The very first time I played CAH, the prompt was "What is Dἰck Cheney's favorite thing?", and I played "Dἰck Cheney."

I've never been able to top that.
OH MY GOD, THAT'S ****ING PERFECT!

Way better than my blank card on "War. What is it good for?"

Candyland, because I liked the pretty colors as a kid.

God I had a version of it on a disc for my computer and I repeatedly played candyland against myself on PC and if that isnt an analogy for the rest of my life goddamn

So she's a sister then.
It's actually the opposite for me. My older sister back in the day annoyed the hell out of me and had so many naggy tendencies that made me livid. Of course I annoyed her as well a lot so it's a two way street.

Guys I just had an awful realization.

I was looking at my units in Heroes, right? And then disaster struck when I realized I got Caeda her Wing Sword however long ago but never actually refined it.

I...I don't know how I missed that until now.

And now poor Jeorge needs to wait even LONGER for Parthia to get refined. One day, Jeorge. One day.
Caeda earns it more. How dare people talk **** about her stays. She needs to send a message like mine:
She destroys things like it’s nothings. Her glacies can destroy pretty much any unit regardless of weapon triangle. Her seal is only one set, the other is speed which makes her even more likely to outspeed things. This is why she’s one of my favorite units in heroes

This post though:

“we should get compensation orbs for not getting compensation orbs”

I like the way this man thinks!
