Sad day. When's the wake, and the burial? This was when I actually started taking part more in the community.@BluePikmin11 @PushDustIn @vaanrose
It's been a fun ride, but I am here to announce that within the next month (~before E3 hits most likely) the site will be going through a new upgrade that will eliminate the Social Group section of Smashboards.
Every thread within the various Groups will be sent to the archive boards so that no one's posting data will be deleted. If there are threads one would like to be saved please tag/PM me so that I may move them to the proper board.
Despite being dead, I'd imagine moving some of the threads from the Leak/Rumor Group to the Wii U/3DS board for easy access would make the most sense.
Puppet Zelda? Is it cause you could see up her dress.I played a bit of Ocarina and Majora's when I was younger using the N64 emulator, but I don't remember much of it other than I loved to use the cheats and fly to the Moon.
- Midna
- Wolf Link
- Link is pretty cute, I love this incarnation. :3
- The Ganon's Puppet Zelda fight for a reason.
- It made me cry all the times I played it in the end. And it made me wish for a sequel.
Its fake.I can't believe that gamefqas leak might be true.
Captain Toad, Crash and Spyro are confirmed for Smash, I guess
The leak is fake, guys deleted his account. The leak said that some details about the online service would get revealed May 7th.
And here we are, details revealed and all. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt at this point, just on that point alone.
When you learn you work best as a night staff member, and all the night shifts are in different towns.Who needs to drive when you can run or bike everywhere?
Urgh, programming, I never did get that side of game design down...Of course you would.
Still, I'm realizing I might not have made the right choice.
Some recent mafia games, not to mention many semesters, have shown me that working under pressure isn't really my strength.
And considering how perfect everything must be in programming... Yeah...
The Gamefaqs has no legs, details dropped in Japan on the 8th, and here the 8th here in Europe as well.So the gamefaqs leak has some legs to stand on now?
This got a lot more interesting.
Could we be seeing a repeat of Chaos_Zer0?
Probably not
EDIT: This attached files thing is annoying and ugly.
I', sorry, i didn't mean to start it with a simple bad enoguh dude to save the president meme....I feel, very dizzy and lightheaded. I don't know what came over me.
First, this unnecessary political argument happened in a Smash server I owned. Then I felt my anger rising because of my low tolerance for political **** that doesn't belong. Then someone changed the subject to some PC game I never heard off. Then, I leave to Twitter to make one long winded rant about how and why I've always hated politics. How it ruined friendships I had with older IRL friends, how I tore them apart in the end over a damn election, how I went third party from the start just to spite both the Democrats and Republicans, how I would furthermore say I would care less for those that disagree with my anti-political views, and how I went into some nonsensical rant about how politics should go **** itself and the world would be a better place without it.
I feel much better now. That is one thing I wanted to let out for a long time and I feel good. There's a reason why want no part in politics or why I am tempted to block anyone who wants to be forceful with them. I am tired of bending down and pleasing anyone. I am my own person and I hate politics as much as I want. And now I realized about how much sanity was lost since those last few weeks. And chances are that I gained new enemies after what I said back there.
So, that's when will here you glorious rendition of the NintenZone rap.5 Weeks
As in 5 weeks until the world is changed forever.
No, I call Uni a fake Canadian, not fake American, also I'm pretty sure he dissed my favourite Zelda ship, so I will delibrately ignore him, plus harem protagonist, I will never join his harem.as the night drawn to a close and morals low, uni did something to raise everyones spirits
decided to throw a party for everyone so everyone can get joy, a long lasting mood boost, and social experience, he threw it for all of his friends
which consists of me praline, and grim (only because grim is pretty making everyone get +20 favor towards him) either way we all gather and we shove off to party
which consisted of some talking, awkward dances, and chess matches...to be honest it went literally better than i thought the party actually would
either way it did get some benefit, a lotta people gained favor with eachother (except lily who kept slighting uni, probaby saying hes a fake american and stuff) and everyone got a +15 mood for 10 days, good on ya uni!
oh....but i guess shiny overheard we were all partying (best we could) and got so disheartened he couldn't join so he broke again....he basically just walked around his cell refusing to sleep or eat...poor guy, i feel so bad for him but theres literally nothing we can do...
morning came back to work for the rest of us, thanks to that party and having bedrooms pretty much all of us are now happy, even more happy our hops fields have yielded so we now can start working on brewing them as soon as we can get the wood to spare to build the kegs and brewery center, either way happy thing
and a cougar when mad hunting us, and by that i mean he hated praline, every single animal we pissed off always seem to go after praline, why do animals hate you praline? anyway your too far away for anyone else of the stoopid gang, or lily to help you out so you were kinda on your own against the beast
it became quite the bloody mess as it tore into praline while she sprayed bullets all over against it nailing it
and in the end she is victorious, she basically mutilated the cougar, surprised it took so much and fought as much as it did but parline won in the end, honestly her injuries aren't even anything bad, they look worse than they actually are, patch it up and sleep it off and you'll be good as new next day~
oh hey 16 hours later and shiny finally collapsed, hes sleep depraved and completely starving, wonderful, well at least hes back to himself.....as best as he can, so we can fix it..
closing the night at midnight for the 14th to begin most are resting, we got plans to improve shinys jail, hes now back to being great thanks to his mental breakdown but its only temporary, hopefully improving his jail cell will also improve his chances of joining us. food for thought, one last thing to note here before the day begins
i built butts a bed lol, and put it in its owners room lilys, felt kinda bad for the creature just roaming around anywhere at the base instead of sleeping with its owner, and we had plenty of leather and cloth, so i built it a bed out of exploding cow leather and put it in here so now butts can snuggle up in comfort happily, with that a new day begins and hopefully things improve.
Can't wait. Hope we get another set of game games starring Yor, Nibor, Morhc and Anicul.Fire Emblem: Lustrous Daybreak, featuring the new protagonists: Kei and Aiamich
Actually quite a number of new Nintendo IPs have come out, they are just mainly eshop games, so they may not factor in that much.Oh there's a ton of reasons why I'm 99.99% sure that leak is fake. I just have a gut feeling they're too predictable as well.
Seems like people ask for them more because they're "Sony" characters, the same way they asked for Shantae and Shovel Knight because they're "indie." Although I expect the latter two fared far better during the Ballot than the former two due to the aforementioned fad anyway. Ballot's probably gonna factor in hard due to Sakurai not having extra time pass from swapping out to make another game between Smash for Wii U/3DS and Smash Switch for more new IPs to exist.
Honestly I don't see many people asking to see Crash and Spyro being in Smash like Cloud and Sonic, cause not many people really care about being able to have Mario duke it out with Spyro and Crash all that much. Cause I mean the main appeal of Sonic and Cloud getting in, was being able to have Cloud fight Link, and Sonic fight Mario, can't really feel the same can be said for Spyro and Crash. Well maybe Crash, but I think most people don't really care about seeing a Mario/Crash crossover all that much.Don't know if I would call the indie bits a fad per se.
Shantae's always had flash-in-the-pan press - which honestly is kind of bull****, her games are good. Meanwhile Shovel Knight's kind of fallen off the plateau since King Knight doesn't seem to be generating the kind of hype that Plague and Specter did. And it's been a few years for either of them, which in internet hype time is basically forever.
But they've each got pretty respectable cult followings, both for their own games and for Smash. Hard to rule em out.
I'm biased as **** there though.
Anyway I wouldn't discount Crash and Spyro per se either, but if they get in, I expect they'd be DLC. While their re-releases were likely in the works around the same time as Smash, there was no indication of how the Switch would do (prompting Activision to want in on it), nor any indication how the Crash and Spyro remake trilogies would do (confirming whether they'd need to plan for long-term support of the franchises), in any kind of timeframe that would have got Activision and Nintendo talking about a base-roster inclusion.
By the time all those cards had flipped, Smash's roster was probably finalized and off for polish, and however big Activision is, they ain't "interrupt Nintendo's QA process" big. But - especially if the Switch port of Crash Trilogy goes well - I feel like there's gonna be a have-your-people-call-my-people moment about it and we might see some really interesting DLC.
How I wish Sega would do another Adventure style game...I remember this.
There was a problem fetching the tweetThat video went around so much (and it was very well made, won't deny that), but it was pretentious af.
Which is unfortunately a trend I see with the older Sonic fans.
I always thought people just saw the Legend trilogy as meh, not bad but not as good as the originals.I'm pretty meh on the online Switch service. But It's 20 bones for a year so I ain't gonna get my knockers in a twist over it.
I'm also pretty lazy when it comes to subs. I still don't have PS+ even with all the fighting games I play. I'm so lonely though, there's only so much training mode labbing I can take before I finally crack. Why does this keep happening to me.
I know the GBA games were received alright but I usually see nothing but negativity for the Legend trilogy (whether it's Youtubers or random average joes online.)
But I started seeing it more after the Reignited Trilogy got revealed.
Only 20.99
I think there was mention that they would add later systems on down the line.Weirdly enough the most enticing part about the price for me is the NES games. Assuming the library grows at a steady pace and gets a good selection, just one year's subscription would be much cheaper than what it would have cost to get them all on VC. Granted you need to keep the subscription active to play them but sufficient expansion should make it seem like you're paying to get more games, not paying to keep access to ones you already have.
I think I'll have to wait till September to see how much I feel like paying. I'd like to play Smash Switch online and keep playing Rocket League online but the rollover to a paid service has me feeling very apathetic. I don't subscribe to PS+ partly because I'm cheap, partly because most of my library consists of single player games and also because during semester, I hardly touch my PS4. Smash alone is something I buy consoles for, so it could get me to start paying for online. At the same time, I can basically live off computer matches in Smash when I'm not playing with others in person.
What are you a genwunner of though?View attachment 143314
You're safe here.
Best case even if there's a bunch of genwunners like me we're all tolerant folks. Worst case scenario it gets buried safely under forty FEH posts within the hour.
Don't think the Switch could do DS games though Opo.The thing I'm most miffed about is the lack of Virtual Console. Namely, things like the GBA/DS games from the Wii U one would've been my bread and butter on the Switch. Ah well. Guess I better go buy any remaining NES/SNES games I still want on my 3DS in case Nintendo stops the service all together.
I don't know. The Virtual Console has been one of my favorite features since its inception, so I'm just sad to see it go.
We really need to get you a gif of Pikachu do ba dum tishh on a set of drums.No.
This is a PC fan.
Most people who upscale on PCs from Nintendo games, don't always have the copy of the game they emulating, so its not legal.Nintendo Switch owners: Emulating NES games at upscaled 1080p, have to pay for a subscription to keep them.
PC gamers: Emulating every Nintendo system up to the Wii U and 3DS, at native 4K60 and above, sometimes with upgraded texture packs. Don't have to pay for an online subscription service. Can play these games like Smash and Splatoon on official Nintendo servers. Can use the game copies you already own.
I don't mean to put Nintendo-only gamers down, but there actually is an objective argument to be made.
Hope Octopath Traveller is present.Square Enix are having their own conference again after skipping the past two E3s
There was a problem fetching the tweet
can't wait for more pre-rendered trailers
Yeah, you say the Wii U was able to Gamecube emulation, but here's the question man, could it be done without hurting the hardware, or causing problems for the actual system? Cause when the Wii U plays digital Wii games, it boots into Wii mode.If you're trying to suggest that emulation is inherently illegal, it's not. Nintendo is literally selling emulation with services like Virtual Console.
I will be emulating my Wii U games that I already bought by dumping the files onto my new PC when it's all set up, and doing this requires a Wii U. Nintendo already got my money.
While some people pirate games to play them in an emulator, emulators are not intended for that purpose. The primary purposes of emulators are game preservation (because there is no guarantee that Nintendo or any other company will actually re-release their games. Like how GameCube Virtual Console never became a thing despite the fact the Wii U could natively run GameCube games as it had the hardware inside it), allowing people to keep their games on one machine, and allowing people to play games exactly how they want to (better resolutions, using whatever controller they want, etc).
So unless you can provide 100% that Gamcube VC could happen to a standard Nintendo would want it, best not to assume Nintendo just choose to leave it out on purpose.
A kettle of fish, that its quite tasty....Naaaaahhh the primary intention of emulators is for people to pirate games. At least publicly released ones.
There's gotta be like a half a dozen guys that actually give a crap about backing old games up, the rest of the people downloading them just want free games.
Not that any number of gaming companies haven't "borrowed" online emulators and emulation work for themselves, but that's a kettle of fish sitting in another kettle of fish.
Wel, maybe a VC could happen later on if we ask for it enough times. If there's one thing that disappoints me the most about all this Nintendo Switch news, it's the lack of the Virtual Console. I was really hoping the Virtual Console on the Switch would expand to include the Gamecube and Wii games, but it seems like the only hope for them to have re-releases on the Switch is through HD ports like Twilight Princess and Windwaker had on the WiiU.
I was especially hoping to see Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn appear in a Switch Virtual Console so that people don't need to pay tons of money for physical copies of them or resort to ROM hacks just to play them, but it seems like the only hope they have for becoming accessible to gamers today is through HD ports/remakes.
I always had the stance if you can't acquire games legally in your area, or if its from an arcade cabinet out of circulation, go all in on emulating that game.I have a hard time taking a stance against emulators. While I think piracy hurts companies and is a scummy way to play the stuff you like, I have pirated games before and will not deny it.
Hell, I pirated Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and loved it. I pirated SF3rd Strike because there was no Japanese Arcade machine for me to buy.
At least with that last on I can buy it for the Switch.
But anyway, my point is if I were to say "don't pirate that you rapscallion!" I'd be a hypocrite. So I just shut up and don't download stuff I can buy.
Actually Nintendo apparently isn't making that much money from their mobile games. Actually no, they can't buy server space and recoup the cost, cause well, shareholders woll get in the way. Plus just a note, Nintendo is a console manufacturer and video-game maker, they don't have multiple types of business like Sony and Mircosoft.Like I said to ChikoLad, I get your point about it. Things cost money. However, these are three large multinational corporations with lots of businesses. I'm no expert in financial matters, but can't they easily use the earnings provided by their other businesses to recoup the costs of the "servers"? Wouldn't that be logical? Microsoft has Azure, Windows, Office, Surface, etc., Sony has other electronics businesses besides PlayStation as well as Sony Pictures. And Nintendo is making lots and lots of money in the mobile space.
If they want to charge you for it, then that's greed in my eyes. I really doubt Nintendo's service will dramatically improve. I don't think it will, and I'm not saying that because I've been upset about this. I'm legitimately doubting that the P2P junk you see right now will be replaced by real servers.
Also it probably would be easy for them to all buy server spaces, they would just have to have the CEOs and board members take a good pay cut and then they could charge something like 1.99 for online a year, and well those pay cuts would pay for server up keep and staffing the servers.
Yes.The 19.99 quip?
I pinned that as a joke immediately.
Does this make me the Pumpkaboo whisperer?
Sorry been busy, had more job interviews....You know, since I got my dice yesterday, I kind of wonder what the status of that D&D game a few of us were planning on having is. Last I checked the PM is in stasis until Opossum uploads their character page and Starlight_Lily was working on building the lore still, but I feel like it's been days since I last checked up.
*checks*
OK more like. . .two weeks?
Dis sad that people no longer care much about watching what their kids are doing these days. That's not going to happen because people don't know what they want, so they want "what the other companies have." And that's not happening because the Switch is a system with no microphone port and bluetooth based controllers that could pick up interference from a wireless devices.
They could give away free unicorns with every subscription and most people wouldn't be impressed.
And every time Nintendo includes a communication system on their devices with even a little leeway either the media freaks about pedophiles or it gets actually flooded with pedophiles and Nintendo is seen as a substitute babysitter regardless because kiddy baby company, so yay there.
That's something completely different."Rest in Peace, Virtual Console"
I thought the Virtual Console was still alive though. They just renamed it to "Homebrew" or something
That's actually a solid poiint Uni.I mean, not trying to support those who want voice chat on the Switch but...
Not getting a dedicated microphone port didn't stop Nintendo from putting voice chat in the past, it ain't gonna stop 'em now.
Online Mario Party? We need to go back to the old style, so I can see everyone's salty reaction when someone gets all hidden blocks with stars in them 4 times in a row.Ares just got more terrifying. He can actually effectively use the AoE Specials. The AoE Specials were reduced to 4 cooldown when the skill update happened. Basically, the killer effect of Dark Mystletainn reduces it to 3. Now, when the AoE Special is used, the AoE Special will go back to 3 Charge. Ares will attack and most likely finish off the enemy, bringing the Charge to 2. After combat, the AoE Special will be back at 0, meaning that Ares can in fact use it again when he can attacks again. Just wow...
Of course there will still be people unimpressed and want what the others have and whatnot. Although it may have been better worded had I said, "if they want to get as many people sold on it."
Online Mario Party needs to happen! I want to see the salt and tears reach the highest levels.
Although admittingly, the only thing I want to see more than online Mario Party is if Gamecube games do become a thing and also have online.

praline am I old and bald?
Why am I old and bald?
I'm neither of those things.
Definitely in your Mid-Life crisis. Not geriatric.
