That moment when you're watching a video about Metroid and you see a piece of your fanart in the video....

Actually this kind of happens often...

That's like when I'm browsing 4chan and see my screenshots from games posted around, mainly of Rosalina. Also that one render I made that people seem to like and keep spreading around.

Or that one time there was a video on YouTube about how hot Rosalina is and someone used a screenshot from a video of mine.

I've come across my own artwork in places I never uploaded it sometimes, it's a weird feeling.

It'd be nice if it actually brought in more people, but that never seems to be the case.

The difference here is that your actual art that you work hard on is getting spread around.

I make art too, but that's not what gets spread around.

It's the random screenshots and stuff I take because I'm a Rosalina slave.

At least the render is something I somewhat put thought into.

That usually depends on whether they credit you or not (they are supposed to actually)...but there are other factors that play into it like the subject matter, quality of work, etc...

A lot of my Metroid fanart was done for the Metroid's Database Bestiary, which posts a direct link to my Deviantart for each entry so I do have a decent following of Metroid fans on dA...Not particularly a huge following but still pretty decent...

I haven't been keenly following Etika for quite some time aside from his live reaction to the last Direct, so this is new information to me.

It was two weeks ago and I don't really know much details beyond that it just happened to him a couple other streamers while they were hanging out.

Maybe you need to explain what exactly you're talking about.

Iggy has this stupid chan grab where it's almost impossible to escape unless you do a crouched light attack and even then he can go for his own crouched light attack so to counter you need perfect frame reactions

Just had a thought regarding the Custom Character in Sonic Forces.

A lot of OCs in games, and, particularly in fan-fiction, are just inserted with little elaboration on why they exist. They just sort of hang with the main cast for no reason.

One thing I think Sonic Team could do to avoid this problem is, if the game has a hub world system, pepper it with other anthropomorphic NPCs. I mean it's not like they won't already have the assets from the character creator anyway, so it wouldn't be much of a hassle. Maybe have an online function where other players' characters show up in your hub world. This way, it avoids the tired trope of "random OC comes out of nowhere and is part of the main cast". If we can actually see other anthro characters hanging out at the resistance camps that Sonic and friends set up, then that would establish that our custom player character isn't some random Mary Sue insert that appeared from the void, but they're simply another inhabitant of Sonic's world, like all of the other ones we can see.

Yeah, but it gets posted somewhere and people have no idea where it came from so I never actually benefit from it.

I've been trying to make a career out of my art, and that's really disheartening.

If that's case then you should say something, politely tell them that you are the author/artist and that you would like to be credited for it...its best to do this through a PM of course...

If they decline then report them, most websites enforce copyright and plagarism (at least they are supposed to)...

You're the one that has put in the work you have the rights to it...

So my friend casually posted on another forum about how he apparently played a demo of N. Sane Trilogy at his local Best Buy. So...apparently the game has demo kiosks at Best Buy now?

If you're interested you should check it out I guess.

Hmm. . .so far it's a curious reaction.

A lot of games either leave me unfulfilled or just outright put off by the demos even when the full game is actually quite good (Pokemon demos what are u doin stahp). This on the other hand feels like a quality product to kick back and relax to off the bat, it's just a bit obvious from the start that the game likely builds up over time. The question therin is not "is this is a good game," but "am I in the mood for a nice long SRPG right now." Because if it's not leaving an iffy impression from the demo so far when so many other games have, then yeah, quality's not really in question.

I am not surprised at all you managed to put over 300 hours into this even just from what I've played, LOL. This is deeeefinitely the kind of game that seems like it would take a while to see everything in.

Alright, this has been a long time coming:
Why Gaiden's plot was actually ahead of pretty much most of the series feat. Spoilers for almost all SoV plot points

Spoiler

-Rigel isn't just an "evil empire", it's given its reasons to invade and most of its commanders are good people, as seen with Zeke, Rudolf himself and his right-hand General who I forgot the name.
-Zofia is not inheretely good, their king was negkected his kingdom and forced the queen into marriage, and their new emperor is arguably even worse than any other villain in the game. Not to mention the reason for its downfall was them being given everything on their hand by Mila.
-Basically, Zofia and Rigel are Hoshido and Nohr if they were given proper gray morality.
-Rudolf is not just an evil emperor and actually wants to unite Valentia for its good. If he fails, Alm is there as a failsafe.
-The Duma Chruch isn't another Religion of Evil and it's all because of Jedah that it's being used that way(and the fact that most of the mage enemies have lost their sanity, as evidenced by the Witch description, shows that they're mot really doing that on their own free will). Hark, the previous "pope of Duma" is actually a chill guy and helps Celica and co.
-Duma himself, he isn't a god of evil because of evil but just really pissed people decided to wake him up earlier(estimated time was never).
-Both protagonists having flawed philophies based on their true descendancy that is actually integrated into gameplay
-Only, like, 3 people want to suck Alm's **** instead of the entire cast.

GameXplain's was pretty good if I say so myself.

I agree, I actually found their review very helpful as they clearly understand what it's meant to be and discuss what good or bad those featudes do
