How do you feel about promotional characters in any fighting game?

Are they welcome additions or forced?

I'm not sure what you mean by "promotion characters". Are you referring strictly to third-party guests (Sonic, Akuma, Ezio) or characters implemented into a game because they're currently popular (Cable in Marvel 2)?

Again, this is less my opinion on him and more that all the person that liked him and his video are feeling horrible due to Jon controversial opinion. Opinion that aren't great to begin with.
Really, I just hope he doesn't forget the person who make him who he is now and not become be a greedy piece of **** that is going to treat his fan like garbage if they say anything that he doesn't approve. I love Jontron video, I want him to succeed, I want him to have a good time, I don't want he become another Arin, DSP, Spoony, etc...I just want to see the Jon that I like. The one in a room making jokes about bad video game/movie. Not seeing him on Twitter ****posting like whatever term you want to use.
But hey, who care really? That's just my silly opinion on a silly subject.

Jon, in another vain attempt to appeal to conservatives, espoused unsubstantiated claims about racial tensions (riots in Sweden which don't occur, crime rates that aren't real, etc) and just generally awful things (oppression in the US isn't real, colonialism was a good thing, race mixing isn't good even though he's half Iranian).

Defending something like this as "just being free speech" is the weakest argument you can possibly make in defense of an ideology. Something being legal doesn't make it right.

Pretty sure she means the latter. Moreso promoting a new game/series (like most crossovers) or partnership stuff (Pepsiman in Fighting Vipers).

Like a certain someone being added to Smash for boosting Fates sales.

He's untainted relative to almost all of the popular Youtubers but he was a toxic **** in League. I'm so glad he branched out and stopped oversaturating his channel with content;his videos got way better after he went into more original content.

Though Dino is a mistake.

all crossover games are promotional in nature, but Sony's roster isn't nearly as prolific as Nintendo's so they had to branch out quite a bit

They had four other excellent guest characters and then there was Dante.. just, why

I really do hope there's a PSASBR 2. If that game were refined more mechanically and had less "nothing" characters (like Nariko and Guy from Starhawk), I don't think people would regard it as a mediocre Smash wannabe.

It was missing out on FAR too many PlayStation Classic Characters. Crash, Spyro, Lara Croft, *cough* Cloud *cough*. Then they decided to shove **** like Zeus in our faces when nobody wanted him. Dart, a character that a whole lot of people wanted in, got shafted because the pack with Zeus didn't sell well. Gee I wonder why. Isaac Clarke was awesome but Zeus? Really guys?

Oh no I knew that was the case. That's the same reason Lara wasn't in as well. That still doesn't excuse the fact that for a fanservice inspired game the fanservice was seriously lacking.

Pepsiman should have been an international character.

While true, no other game with crossover characters felt as much of a promotion as that. Sure, there are Smash characters who got in due to promotions from Roy to Corrin, and Akuma is in Tekken now, but stuff like that at least feels natural. "Marvel VS Capcom"? Exactly as the title says it. Project X Zone? They all feel in character and as if they're part of the game. Playstation Allstars was just a mess. Big Daddy who got in for one reason. "New Bioshock game!" Dante was primarily on the Playstation to the point he's an exclusive character for Viewtiful Joe iirc, but they got Donte instead because "New game!" etc.

No support system would be a bummer but not a deal breaker. That said based on how the statement is worded, I'm siding with Serenes Forest in that it's more of a de-confirmation of Pair Up mechanic rather than supports as a whole.

Since spells are learned upon leveling up and are ridiculous in terms of utility/power, it's mainly for balancing purposes. Clerics also automatically know Nosferatu. Magic Users are arguably at their best in Gaiden.

So basically they're being as faithful to the original as is possible for a 3DS title - most of the stuff in that list was in the original; basically the only thing they aren't bringing back from Gaiden is 8-bit sprites, going by this (and even then, the sprites being used are similar in art style to the originals). Being able to attack enemies in dungeons before battle, and money, are new, though (money wasn't in the original Gaiden, since weapons didn't break). Just waiting now for archers to be confirmed to have up to 5 range again, and all will be well.

I wonder what they mean by "duelling" protagonists? They aren't in opposition to each other at any point, the game just swaps between the two every so often.

Already been mentioned, but I also reckon the "no supports" thing is moreso that they won't be including Pair Up/Attack and Guard stances, rather than support conversations being dumped entirely.
