Because most video game protagonists are 30 something year old guys with some kind of combination of brown hair/bald and beard/stubble. And yes, I know this is old, but still.
OBVIOUSLY there are tons of unique protagonists, but this is by far the biggest trend when it comes to protagonists. It's the west's equivelent of the guy used in harem anime, you know what kind of guy I'm talking about from me saying that alone.
Well, today just went from a boring old sick day to "HOLY **** AN OLD BUD JUST POPPED BACK ONTO SMASHBOARDS", even if he did technically only appear yesterday. Today suddenly became a good day.
Man, I was so focused on Breath of the Wild, I didn't realize that my favorite unknown series is actually getting it's latest game brought to the Americas.
Culdcept Revolt is actually coming over here! Thank you NIS America!
Shigure automatically gets my vote. His voice is divine, he's a nature-lover like me, he's a cool unit, and is a pretty enjoyable character overall. Also, Pegasus Knights for Smash is always plus.
As for the others, Forrest is alright, but not someone who catches my attention the way Shigure does. Percy is someone I never really cared for, and then there's Soleil, who I dislike.
Aw yeah, can't wait to see my boy Shiro on the next poll!
My personal bias would suggest you go with Hisame, but considering that Nina is a far more popular character overall, I'd say go with her. It would also give a 2-2 balance between Hoshidans and Nohrians in that poll.
We could have moved on to other series if it weren't for those saying "Fates is getting too much attention. Let's do the same for the other games like Tellius and such". At least from what I remembered pages ago.
At this point, she might as well be a general Fire Emblem blog at that point. Hopefully it won't be until the weekend when we can finally move on. I doubt that many people would know much about the Judgral games compared to me.
Speaking of which, why is Soliel popular again? I thought people hated her womanizing gimmick and found the "gay curing" controversy a low point of her character (which Nintendo of America thankfully censored).

I want to move on as much as you, but these Fire Emblem fans can't get enough of me.
At best, I think Awakening deserves one extra, Tellius can get two more, and I'll safely say one for Genealogy because of its heavy obscurity. Sorry Magvel fans. Saturday or Sunday at best is when I hope I finally do Wario and Kid Icarus. And maybe some Sanic and Metal Gear.

Well, in my journey of BotW, I got to the Zora area, as well as got some more memories. Also found the second Great Fairy, so now I can power up my armor twice.
I'm really loving Zelda's character. I especially love the memory of her and Link in the field and she is going Nerd Mode with the flowers and the frog. That was very enjoyable and I was laughing when she tried to get Link to consume the frog.
Now that I can power up my stuff twice, what do I need to power up my Champion Shirt?
-The shirt itself
-3 Silent Princess
-2 Shards of Farrosh's Scales Oh, you can't be serious. I might actually have to fight the dragon?

The "gay curing" never existed. That was something spread by someone who didn't read the supports properly. What was happening was that Soleil was having problems focusing on battling while there were cute girls around(as in the English support, she feels like fainting around them). Corrin tries to help her(admittingly with a controversial way, a powder in her drink without her knowing) by getting Soleil to see him as a girl in order to help her with her "shyness/flustering" around girls to help her not have any problems fighting around them, which was then followed by Soleil wanting to see the other men in the army as females(the powder made her see males as females). Corrin later apologizes when it doesn't work as well as he hoped and Soleil thanks him for trying to help her around girls. See? No sign of gay curing.
Besides the lie around the "gay curing", the other reason why people disliked her supports was because in the JP version, she fell in love with Corrin's female self and was her reason for marrying him, which annoyed him as much it did for a lot of Japanese players(JP players actually hated her support with Corrin, whereas liked her supports with other characters. I mean, Soleil being the 14th most popular Fates female shows that they liked something about her).
In the English version, when they are doing their confessions, she admits that she wants to take the relationship slow and steady and there's no mention of her falling in love with Corrin's female self because the powder was removed in the English version, hence no seeing the males as females. That being said, the powder was replaced with a blindfold with Soleil's consent rather than unknowingly and a rather humorous take on bondage.
Basically, her support with Corrin were made more likable in the English version and apparently even Japanese players loved the changes to her support in the English version.
