Christ. And to think this isn't the first time for SE. Remember when Tomb Raider launched pretty well with 3 million at launch but SE considered it a failure? Meanwhile Namco's still sitting there with their Dark Souls money being given back


Gotta agree, FE Maker wouldn't work well because you'd either have untis that're too weak or too strong. Zelda sounds more exciting because the idea of making your own Zelda 1 is terrific, I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it played a lot smoother than the original

There's no other way he would be that popular for an Awakening character.

A Zelda maker would be fun, for me

But TBH, I don't see it being used as much as a Mario Maker.

The only way I see it working is if the game has a mode where it takes people's constructed maps and stitches them together to create a somewhat random adventure for players to go through. So they can have a Zelda 2D game that's different every time they play it

The problem I see with that is like, item placements or whatever

So Nintendo Dream interviewed the FE Heroes developers, inclusing about the Choose your Legends poll.

Some things of interest:
-The devs were not expecting Lyn to be as popular as she was
-Lucina was apparently more popular in Japan, while Ike was more popular in the West.
-They're baffled by Donnel's popularity.
Also, it's nice how there is notable demand for #FE characters in Heroes and the developers addressed surprise at this.

So much for a flop of a "terrible" crossover. :awesome:

LOL, I was just going to post how I didn't think a FE Maker would be that great. It'd be a nice option for a FE game to have it's own map maker but I don't think a game dedicated to just that would work out well

Real talk, that game wouldn't have gotten NEARLY as much backlash if they kept their mouths shut about working with Atlus instead of hyping up major SMT characters with Ike, Hector, Lyn, etc.

I honestly agree with this.

They're definitely were at fault for initially advertising the game as a SMT x Fire Emblem crossover and going for an idol them. I still like the game though.

Apparently the cartridges for Switch games "taste bad" according to early access people (some believe it's to discourage little kids to put them in their mouths).

Now I'm tempted to try this when I get one.

That's perfectly fine to like it, even if it's 'perfectly fine' for your twitter retweets to exist, it's still good that you could find enjoyment inna product many others could not

Wasn't Donnel a thing during Awakening though? I do remember him being talked about a lot
Yeah, mostly jokingly though did people talk about him. I mean, he can be a great unit when you train him(and that's not saying much, almost any unit in awakening can be.) I mean, sure he does have plenty of unironic fans, but most awakening characters do and yet he got a TON more votes than most.


Also, not a Nintendo franchise and I know I've been talking about this franchise way too much recently, but I'd actually love a castlevania maker. You have A GIGANTIC variety of enemies, weapons, locations, and items. And also a great selection of playable characters.

Rights issues aside, I would be all for it for the salt alone. :troll:

Though having the Mirage enemies mesh with the Fire Emblem characters would be weird.

Zelda Maker for the maps and dungeons would be nice on it's own. That being said, if a Zelda Maker happens, I hope they bring the Costume Mushroom feature back. Even if it was NES-style only, the Costume Mushroom was very fun. Plus playing as Samus or Marth or even Ashley on a Legend of Zelda-style map? Sign me up.

For a Fire Emblem maker, yeah it sounds like it would be hard to balance even if you could directly control growth rates. But that being said, if it would help me realize my dream of an FE game with only using a Lord and Generic units, I'd be down for it. And when I mean Generic Units, I do mean Generic Units like the units you can capture in Fates and whatnot.

It's not that surprising for Lyn because she was designed to be a player friendly character by easing them in the FE gameplay.

The big thing was that she still holds up which tells me how loved those GBA games were.

Christopher Sabat just WORKS better as the hammy superhero yet also pulls the cynical and fatigued part of All Might VERY well. There's a reason I occasionally go back to the Plus Ultra scene

I've always liked Generic Units since Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Battle. I usually have Generic Units in a class of their own compared to Unique Units, mostly because I rank the Generic Unit designs for how fitting they are for their class and just their designs in general while Unique Units designs I rank with their character/personality.
But I'd definitely try out a FE Game or even a spin-off where you have very little Unique units and have to rely more on Generic Units, whether it'd be through a Capture or Recruitment mechanic and whatnot, to progress through your game. You'd still have a Main Lord character, but there would only be 1 or 2 other Unique units.
And with Generic Units, you'd have to rely on RNG a bit, but at the very least, you can check to see their stats, what classes they can reclass to, and other things that normally the Unique units would have, but you'd still have to press your luck a bit with Growth rates. On the other hand, if doing a Recruitment thing, you could have a feature where by paying some extra gold, you can ask for those with good-growths all around or those with "potential"(meaning somewhat low-growth rates, but a chance of getting Aptitude or even getting a chance of higher-than-normal growth rates on a couple stats).

That aside, it'd be cool if they expanded on Generic units in future FE games and even Captured units. It would've been cool if the Boss Units you could capture in Fates had their own reclasses like they did their own growth rates.

I just wish the Capture mechanic was explored more in Fates
If characters other than Niles and Orochi could capture enemy units, it'd make things a lot better as you're forced to use them if you want any of the generics
Also, more capturable bosses and treating them as playable units and not just Einheijar. Fates has the least number of generic bosses in the entire series and most of them don't even get the novelty of unique skills like Haitaka(who, btw, IS best Spear Fighter) or Gazzak(who, btw, IS best Berserker).

I actually like the design of the generic units sometimes better than the actual characters. It's on a character by character basis though
