Back from wherever I was.
On the FE talk I apparently missed:
- As someone who had no knowledge of the series before, when I played Awakening it kinda came off to me as a gameplay first, plot/characters second kind of series. It wasn't bad by any means but what pulled me in were the maps and trying to figure out ways to break the game like in Disgaea (turns out it wasn't hard.) I do like some of the characters like Chrom, Olivia, Inigo, Owain and so on. But to be fair I also skipped on a lot of supports (and some kids.)
- I never played Fates and I probably never will outside of maybe Conquest, but you will never convince me the 3 route thing was anything but an awful concept. The multiple version idea falls apart when you have to buy all 3 anyway to get the full picture of an underwhelming and overly convoluted story, but if you buy only one you get instead an underwhelming and overly convoluted story that also happens to incomplete. Plus from what I've seen, Revelations having such a huge cast seemed to be more of a detriment to it more than anything else.
- FE Warriors having so many moveset clones is something I feared from just the idea alone and was sad to see that be the case, I'll likely not get it unless we see a definitive version like HW's. Also no Roy, no buy.
- Echoes looks good and Kliff is basically me_irl so I have to get it eventually.
