Odds are that there's going to be a Direct in January.
I mean pretty much every year there's a direct at the start of the year. 2012 had one in February, 2013 had one in February, 2014 had one in February, 2015 had one in January, 2016 had one in March, and 2017 had it's big Presentation in January.
The only outlier here really is 2016 where it took a bit longer for it's first Direct of the year. Then again 2016 was really scarce when it came to Directs because Nintendo basically gave up on the Wii U and was holding on as long as they could for the Switch.
That is sort of the case once I got Morag... but she is more reliable as a Jack-of-all-trades. I also saw some video say there's actually a third Poppi you can get, maybe I will check GameFAQs to know how since it's better to avoid spoilers imo
Man my favourite thing in XC2 is getting to where I need to after 10 whole ****ing minutes just to get destroyed and respawing ****ing miles away from the spot and having to find the way back to where I need to just to walk near a monster that is 20 levels higher and it hits me with 5000 damage and I gotta do it again like 5 more times before I get to where I need to.
When you die, you simply just return to the point where you last saved or skip travel to. You don't lose anything.
Next time, just try to avoid places that has high level monsters.
Again, not bragging or anything, if you just feel stumped on XC2 I will do my best to give advice. It's a JRPG afterall, bad things happen a lot in JRPGs
When I first encounter Zeke, who we already introduced even before the game was released... I though he was a pretty cool character, however, I was pretty disappointed on his character... he's just like that kind of typical goofing enemy where the main characters never take him seriously... and even himself wasn't too serious until the third encounter.
After he joined us, I can sort of forgive his weird attitude.
I haven't gotten to the point in XC2 that you actually meet Tora, but I have a feeling that his voice won't bother me that much.
I guess I just see that as the way that Nopon talk, like how Moogles in FF end their sentences with "Kupo", even though none of the FF games I played have actual Moogles that you meet aside from maybe Cait Sith's Mog.
Rex's design also never really bothered me that much. My only real problem with it is the pants, and even then, that just reminds me of Sora, and I feel like Sora's design is kind of charming.

Moving on to another topic, I have now bought the Ace Attorney trilogy on the eShop.
It'll be quite a while until I get to playing the games, but I'm looking forward to when I do.
*Every RPG ever*
MC: "Hey man, why can't I unequip your items?"
Sir Not-A-Traitor: *visibly sweating* "Uhm, well, you see, there's a very reasonable explanation for all of this..."
Alternatively
Miss Going-To-Survive-Until-The-End: "PLEASE REMOVE MY EQUIPMENT!"
MC: "I CAN'T I'VE BEEN TRYING TO BUT I CAN'T!"
Miss Going-To-Survive-Until-The-End: "I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE, PLEASE SAVE ME!"

And you say you played Sacred Stones, a game that very clearly allows you to trade the items from the temporary member to the other characters during that time.
On the other hand, you can't use that character in the Link Arena during that time, so that point still remains. It's rather amusing how the way you find out something's not right with the temporaries is not with the equipment, but with other mechanics(looks at a character in Fates).
Kinda thinking about making posts dedicated to spotlights for ten favorite characters for this thread because I'm bored and stuff. I wonder if anyone would be down to see them.
Not a confirmed decision, just a thought. Even though it's technically very tempting to do so. If not, then yeah sure whatever.
Really? Because on a live stream I was watching Tora colleceted something and itwas just a flood of Mehs coming from him. Maybe the streamer was unlucky that day pff
Oh this is so cool! In Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has side quests where you beat them your only prize is having to do a side quest where you receive another side quest to do!
I’m being very sarcastic if you can’t tell.
Side quests are basically pointless to do in this game.
That's the reason why they are called side quests lol. Story wise, even the Blade quest (This was already teased in the Japan XC2 Direct), which has cutscenes aren't totally main story related. You can neglect them if you want to lol.
Blade quests can be triggered once the rare Blade you have reached to a certain affinity, or complete certain Heart to Hearts. Some Blade quests are a bit special that will only trigger once you complete a certain amount of main story.
Compare to XC's side quests, XC2 side quests are more fewer but also more length, but they are more manageable. XC side quest were a lot and a bit hard to know what to do.
After XCX, most sidequests in XC2 seem pretty underwhelming. Though I just stumbled upon the Praxis/Theory quest arc which I hope is reminiscent of all the wacky **** from X.
You need to know... that XC2 are story focused... sidequest were never that good in Xenoblade... I haven't play X so I can't compare sidequest to XC2, sorry about that when I do a minor rant on this.
But again, also for those who completed the main story already, don't any of you guys even try to complete Blade quests? My goal for now is not completing the main story but also complete every Blade quests. Yep, this means I must get every rare Blades, so for there's only...5 to 6 rare Blades for me to get I think.
About that Praxis/Theory quest, the sequence were pretty serious. However...
Obviously, you get Praxis after this quest since her driver was already defeated/killed by your merc groups you sent. A minor rant I have for this quest is...
-I felt sorry for Praxis and Theory how they were resonated by two dorks... this also makes me wonder why some Blade were resonated by monsters such as Wulfric... do they still have some moral or conciseness to control the monster? Maybe they do but according to the lore... Blade's attitude will be influenced by their driver to some extent.
-The sequence where Praxis was about to attack Rex and the group and suddenly returns to her core form also shows that unless they see their driver died, they actually won't notice that they are returning to their core crystal form, or just notice their driver died. So that's why Praxis wasn't surprised or fainted or anything before she returns to her core form like how our characters do...
- Im pretty sure we will deal/get/save Theory later, since she wanted to save Praxis... but after that we don't get anymore of the quest... and by looking at the Blade quest cutscenes in the theater mode it show "Praxis & Theory #1", which confirms that there is another quest to complete... however I check Praxis affinity chart and there isn't a quest... for now...
- And even though I know when Blades are resonate again their previous memories are wiped out, so that's why you don't see Praxis feel unease after being resonated by Rex or other member.
Sorry if I am trying to defend this... but...
XC2 sidequests aren't "bad", they are just uninteresting... that said, completing sidequests in XC2 is way more easier compare to the first one.

Yeah at the end I had over five pages of quests built up, and after a certain point I just started ignoring NPCs who had !'s or ?'s.
Had the same problem with the first Xenoblade I think. XCX for me personally was stronger in that area. Thank goodness for that, since I wasn't going to find anything interesting about the main story there...
You may want to go back if you need to raise trust, get EXP points, or items... that's what side quests are for, for bonus stuff for you to get.
And the Blade quest may not be interesting, but they give rare Blades more personality.
Such as...
Boreas likes to eat good stuff like Chowder...
Agate is super afraid of bugs (Whenever you swap your Blade to Agate when battling against insect monsters, she will say "AHHHHHHHH GET THAT AWAY FROM ME! I'M NOT JOKING! GET IT AWAY!")
Dagas is just... arogant
Newt is obviously a military enthusiast...
another note...
This post battle dialogue was pretty hilarious and a bit unexpected:
It was Zeke saying:
I demand Praxis taking off her eyepatch! You are infringing Zeke's copyright!
I kind of forgot what Praxis said, but I remember she just railed back at Zeke.

You will get her...
After listening to Rex's VA fall flat...

After chapter 3 I think... or 4... sorry I kind of forgot...
Got him too...
and obligatory...
After looking at his heart to heart... man Dagas is pretty similar to Dio.
And hope you can get Floren (Venus Boy Trap) soon lol.
He may be ugly... but I think he's the coolest character in this game....attitude wise
And tend to be the trouble maker... overall Tatsu was not a very good character....
Perhaps...
But again... you can just swap the leading character if you can't handle with Tora voice lol.
You may want to go back if you need to raise trust, get EXP points, or items... that's what side quests are for, for bonus stuff for you to get.

It's a generalisation, alright. And as you said, a mechanic is usually what will tell players that something wrong is not right, it's just that equipment restrictions are the most common
Finally got around to starting Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Took me quite a while to get to a game I was formerly so excited for
This is. . .definitely a xenoblade game. Only beat the first chapter and then played two more cutscenes, but it still feels like Xeno. The 3 hit combo thing is interesting, but dman did combat feel clunky at level 1. Arts being tied to it is also a huge change im not sure how I feel about yet because there is so much more to play.
Feels like they throw a tutorial prompt every 3 seconds but I guess that is to be expected. Blades seem like they will be a bit complicated but again, we'll see.
Current favorite thing- the locations. Monolith is fantastic at making breathtaking locations to run through in xenoblade games, goddamn.
And once you completed you do get something worth, sometimes I guess lol.
Similar with previous Xenoblade, completing quests can help you raise your Blade's trust, which some are required to unlock certain affinity charts, if you want to get rare Blades more easily. You have unlock those affinity charts, and doing quests are one of the ways to do that.
The combat feels somewhat slow, but I have a feeling it'll get better, as the battle at the end of the chapter felt faster than any of the other battles so far.
Overall, I'm looking forward to the rest of the game and I can tell it's going to be a lot of fun.
After some consideration and a bit of research in the form of game reviews...It seems Steamworld Dig 2 and Enter the Gungeon seem like good choices...Also my buddy's been practically begging me to get Enter the Gungeon for my Switch...he's played it a lot on Steam...
Worms can wait for now...plus the price and over 4GBs of space is sort of turning me away from the game for now...perhaps if there's a sale...
Also I'll be starting Xenoblade soon, so there's that...
Man I like the game but a lot of characters have pretty lame designs. I just fought this Zeke guy, and it’s pretty obvious he’s gonna be a party member since one of the silhouettes in the blade list is his blade, just like how the Morag chick’s blade is also in the blade list.

Rex: Lvl 12, Recruited Tora and Poppi. Story is coming along nice and smoothly now that we've new team members not to mention Poppi's hilarious awakening cutscene. Now that I've Tora, I might wrap up that Crane side-quest before I go rescue Nia. What was drawing a bit of ire in me was how ridiculous it was Rex kept dying in 1v1 fights during some exploration and side-quests. The Aegis's slow auto-combos didn't help, but thankfully I think I've found a good 'Jagen' Blade in a Knuckle Blade called 'Kurenai.' If you ask me, the knuckles might be my weapon of choice alongside Swords - much faster auto-combo and nicely complemented with a Healing Blade. Though I gotta say, I'm pleasantly reminded of Wakka from FFX whenever I bring out the Bitball. I guess that's one thing to get while the Steam Sale's still on - FFX-2 Remastered. It'd be nice to have VII to X on the PC ready to go in succession when I go on a Final Fantasy binge again. Anyways, now that Tora and Poppi are on the team, I should be dying a lot less frequently.
But I think so far, Gormott Province leaves a very 'Gaur Plains' impression when you step out on to it for the first time. If we were to see XC2 content in a future Smash instalment, I imagine it'd be a likely choice for a new stage.
All in all, 8 hours so far and hopefully more fights can be completed rather than R.I.P again, Rex.
Edit ...I think it's maybe time to swap avis to avoid confusion. Gimme a second...
