• Pokemon disapoints me. 2 versions for a Platinum/Emerald? Nah. I imagine this has something to do with watning to get to Switch ASAP but who knows. 0 interest in anything shown.
• Minecradft on everythinggggggggggggggggg. I love it.
• Mario Party out of nowhere. Pretty cool, but with no boards and no friends I dont really care
• WHY THE **** DID THEY MENTION SMASH BROS DURING METROID. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE HINTING AT A CERTAIN CHARACTER
• Atlus games are cool, but Radiant Historia is the only one on my radar right now
• XC2 was awesome. The Driver/blade gimmick seems super interesting, and I love the existence of factions. Definitely my most wanted game after Samus Returns. 9 minutes was way too long though. (told y'all this would happen )
• MOTHER****ING LYN. Super happy she made it in. Still not getting the game near launch, but this is a big boost for me
• We have a MOBA on Switch lol. It's straight up League of Legends Summoner's Rift too. Tencent you crazy
• DOOM is awesome. Definitely buying it. Thought we would get F4 though and rpetty disappointed. No offense Wolfenstein
• Octopath Traveller looks great. So happy to get actual gameplay. Mechancis seem spectacular too. Very excited for this one. Thank you Bravely devs
• Odyssey. Not muc to say here. Dr Mario is cool. game will be great. nothing much here

They want and expect the "hardcore" Smash demo to overlap with this game's audience. Both diehard Nintendo fanbases. So they throw in the series name as a buzzword. Nothing more complex than that. They'd do the same for Kid Icarus or F-Zero or what have you.

I don't think it's worth throwing out yet, basically. Actually having non-SD/Awakening/Fates in the base game is already an eye opener. I don't think they'd show it if it WAS the European box art, so the other one could just be a cover up.

Celica's sprite is the only oddity. Either way we'll know for sure by Tokyo Game Show since they're doing reveals there.

I found the Direct pretty lackluster, all told.

- Pokemon is cool, but it lost its magic for me a while ago to the extent I definitely won't pick up anything short of a new generation and can't bring myself to sink time into playing seriously.
- Metroid looks cool and was one hell of a tease with the Smash mention
- I don't care for Splatoon
- I don't care for ARMS
- Xenoblade, Octopath, a couple of other JRPGs ate up a substantial amount of time from that Direct and it's a genre I don't care for at all
- I know it's a Warriors game, but Fire Emblem kind of fell under the above for me as well
- Skyrim has outstayed its welcome. I poured hundreds of hours into that game when it was released and I won't play it enough to justify the purchase...
- ...which is a shame, as Bethesda have really thrown their hat in the ring. Doom and Wolfenstein weren't things I saw coming.
- Minecraft and Minecraft: Dragon Quest edition? I sort of get the popularity but these sorts of games bore me.

I guess I'd have liked to have seen some new games that I could've got excited for, but oh well. Pokken is a serious consideration for this month, and Super Mario Odyssey will eat up a whole lot of my time after, with Zelda and Rabbids DLC to come in the short term and Prime 4 at the very least to get hyped for in the long term, so I've got games to play.

With the storm rush mechanic from DW8 and my assumption of the weapon triangle being closely similar to that... Good pick up actually.

So Cordelia and Hinoka gonna be day one main pick ups then? ROFL

As for weapon customization. Hm might Koei bring in weapon fusion from DW8 and WO (weapons would actually be OP if customization was on Warrior Orochi power level)? Sounds broken.

Having a secondary weapon is definitely DW7 / DW8 though.

100% to appease the fanbase and move units, same with why all the others are undoubtably going to show up as, and were held back for, DLC.

Personally I'm surprised Lyn is even in the main game. I can't imagine that was always the plan.

Aside from talking about Xenoblade 2 for five years (nothing against the game itself, they just presented it in the most boring way possible), this was a pretty decent Direct.

Doom on the Switch was a pleasant surprise, and it looks like it runs pretty well too. I'm really loving how Ocopath looks visually, may try out that demo.

One of my favorite Splatoon stages, Kelp Dome is returning, pretty pumped about that. The Tent Brella also looks pretty cool.
