Adam Sandler was okay in Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2 as well.

Plus you know. The movie that made him a star.

The Waterboy.
I disliked the first HT, though it had some good scenes. Didn't watch the second one
Never heard of Waterboy tho
Adam Sandler pretty much straight up said that he makes bad movies because he can.

He's already rich, has friends he can easily work with it and people will pony up enough cash for them. He doesn't need to try.
Honestly, I can't blame him. Being rich and not having to make any sort of effort is some top tier life goals but this only shows he never had any passion for movie-making and that's something I just cannot respect or understand.
Toriyama probably just forgot what was exactly said and just went with it.

I always found regeneration to be contrived. It removes any sense of urgency. At least Piccolo's was actually balanced
Plot holes like these aren't uncommon in long-running Manga. Granted, they are more of contrivances either because the artist wrote themselves into a corner or simply forgot.
Like when Dio forgot all of his vampire powers in Part 3 or how Kakashi is spamming his Sharingan in the last arc when earlier two uses put him straight into a hospital bed.

Spanglish, Little Nicky and the Hotel Transylvania movies are all that Adam Sandler is good for.

50 First Dates is cute in a sappy idea sort of way but not actually a truly good movie.

I chalked Cell's regeneration (or at least, the part where he survived having his upper body blown off) up to a combination of Piccolo's regeneration (where he can regenerate limbs, but not vital organs) and Freeza's ability to survive pretty much anything. (the guy was chopped in half, blasted after using up all of his energy, caught in the explosion of a planet, and survived - and that's not even getting into Resurrection F, where his individual pieces would have still been alive if Trunks hadn't disintegrated them after chopping Freeza up)

GXP did a Q&A for Samus Returns...Sounds quite promising overall...
The game does appear to be fairly linear though it's understandable since the original was a very linear game from the beginning...

However there's a bit of bad news...
No Speed Booster :(...I suppose it's not a big deal breaker especially if the game's still a well designed Metroidvania, but it's a little disappointing, and surprising that they didn't include it into the game since it's been apart of the series since Super...

Wonder if it's because of performance issues? There's no longer any simple sprite backgrounds but now whole 3d rendered environments with lighting effects and such which could be problematic for the 3DS to handle when Samus going room to room rather quickly...

True, the same happens in comics, eventually the writers just reset the continuity and start over.

I mean, Frieza is very tough, but I don't see how being extremely durable enhances regeneration. I mean, compared to Frieza, Cell got chopped up and blown up far easier. Frieza tanked his own planet busting attack, while Cell was literally ripped into cells when hit by his own. At first it was fine, but once he got Perfect it got out of hand.

Edit: We already knew that based on seeing every item slot filled in the UI. I'm fine, its been used to its fullest, Phase Drift seems cool.

Linearity was always guaranteed as well, RoS was always about combat first, exploration second.

What? Why would a Metroid 2 remake not be focused on exploration? I kind of feel there is something wrong with that considering in Metroid 2 you have no sort of real map or anything and have to wonder around trying to find all the metroids.

Although I guess the purpose of exterminating them all is kinda combaty and the areas that prevent you from moving forward until you kill all the metroids in the area make it linear.

Kind of disappointed in that regardless

Edit: I mean, you are just kinda thrown in there and have to figure your way through. Kinda exploitationy

Komori sees more and more opinions from series fans on social media.

In response to the above, he states:

'In order to meet the expectations of these fans, I would like to deliver a “festival”-like game that can be said to be another culmination [of the series]. That’s the feeling I have, and I am currently developing a new game.'

Alongside Komori’s comment of a new game in development, he states:

'This is the last game in the series that will have a map to be drawn on the bottom screen on the Nintendo 3DS. For specifics, I hope that you can wait until the day when we can officially announce it.'
Bet you cant wait to have this come out in 2037

Well, Metroid II was always linear. It didn't seem like it at times because every damn location looked exactly the same. The linearity of the game consisted of going through an area killing Metroid's, find an evolved Metroid, kill it, new path would open, backtrack to the entrance, enter that area, rinse and repeat. It's one of the most linear games in the franchise but the Gameboy gave it the illusion of being so much bigger.

It did break linearity a bit when, at the end, new Metroid's are born and you have to go back through previous areas hunting then down. That's about it though, from what I can remember.

Either someone gave in to 720p 30fps Anime Dungeon Crawler Murder Funhouse and played it or there were some news about the series
"The 3DS is dead wah wah"
3DS ain't dead until deers stop murdering explorers and squirrels stop stealing Ariadne Threads.
Though this sounds like either: a)It's the last main series game("with a bottom screen map on the 3DS) or b)It's the last game ON THE 3DS(since no other console has dual screens).
For now, I'm just thankful EOV is coming out soon. Demo when tho

Seriously though, do not pet the squirrel

Because Metroid II has very little exploration in the first place. The entire idea is to hunt down Metroids, and that is reflected by linear maps, progression not being tied to power ups but rather bosses, and really pathetic (and sparse) enemies.

Yes, there is exploration, but it pales in comparison to the original Metroid. There is virtually no backtracking, either. The game focuses on the Metroids at the expense of everything else, hence my assertion of combat first, exploration second.

Edit: There are really no notable secrets or alternate paths to find, either. In fact most of the items are rather easy to find. You explore in a literal sense, but it is rather limited compared to what Metroid is associate with.

Another Mario tidbit:

Camelot wanted Wario & Waluigi to have their own girlfriends in Mario Tennis 64 but Miyamoto shot it down (like with Wapeach)
I may be a huge WAAH fan, but I not sure I would be interested in such thing.
I knew WaPeach was possibly a thing...but a WaDaisy....?

I can understand that....but from a progression standpoint Metroid II is one of the most linear...

You're still confined within certain areas and you have to complete specific things in order to progress through the world...often times being limited by the lava...Unlike in Super Metroid where you can pretty much do anything apart from enter Tourian from basically at any time...Metroid II doesn't really reward you for exploration as much as most other Metroid games beyond simply being able to progress forward...

Derrick of GameXplain compared MSR to that of Fusion in terms of it's linearity...Linearity doesn't mean the entire game is going to be built upon a single railroad track but rather it's split into different segments at a time that must be cleared before you move on the next area...

Did any of you actually play Metroid II? Playing it beginnimg through the end made me convinced that Daedalus himself designed this god forsaken map because once you're in, there's no getting out getting out.
Here's the map for reference

Only the last two areas are really linear.
And trust me, half of the game is backtracking and praying you don't end up walking in circles.
It doesn't work though, you're trapped in it forever

Yep. Took me months to complete the game even once. It was just so disorienting. Everytime I'd start playing I'd get turned around REAL ****in bad even using a map and it just got on my nerves. I did push through it though. Never touched it again.

I've beat AM2R 3 times though so I'm convinced it was just the limitations of the Gameboy that kept me from fully enjoying it.

It is true the individual areas are non-linear, but the map as a whole is one giant loop. I mean, you technically backtrack from area 4, back to area 3 to get to 5, but it really railroads along the same path. And that same path even has the same theme playing all the way through. It's like driving down a highway and taking occasional stops, yeah, it diverges, but you still have to get back on that highway.

Also, you can get everything in a given area the first time you are there. So take area 2 where you get stuff like the Ice beam. You can get obtain every missile and energy tank on your first visit. If you are diligent the first time, you never have to go back there, unlike in other games where you need future power ups to get certain items. Which is good, the black and white landscape really prevents you from easily remembering individual rooms.

Getting lost =/= Nonlinear...That's the difference between having a map and not having a map...But I was referring to the game's progression as a whole, not simply each individual area...

Professor Pumpkaboo Professor Pumpkaboo you may have to un-quit Splatoon 2 eventually.

I think the person who linked this wasn't sure if it was real, but

Please have this be playable octolings.. im hella bored of Splatoon right now. If only they would put them in the game now. The longer they wait, the more likely im never to touch the game again

The difference between a Metroid II guide and a Super Metroid guide.

Metroid II:
Go here, go here, kill this, grab this, go here grab this, go here, go here, kill this, grab this.

Super Metroid:
Go here, grab this, go here, grab this, grab this, grab this, you can come back to grab this other thing later, go here, go back or wall jump up there whichever the **** you want, there's no point in using this guide cause if you find one of the many ways to break progression it's useless anyways.

This is a brilliant analogy.

I mean, I don't say this in a negative light. A game can be linear and be great, or be non-linear and be trash. Or the converse of the two. Regardless, there's more than one way to have a well designed map, and SR seems to be an example of that. I actually really enjoy RoS for what it is, linear map and all.

If Wario and Waluigi ever get evil counter-parts to Peach and Daisy.

They should be named off putting things that are the opposite of Peach and Daisy.

Like Princess Pear and Princess Daffodil.

I don't think Wario wants a girlfriend though.

Wario's one true love is money/success/gold.

He's basically a strong independent woman who don't need no man.

Dunno why you put success in there.

Wario's not particularly driven. He just wants the cold hard cash.

I mean the guy did create a video game company in WarioWare.

That takes a bit of success driven want in a man.
Eh I disagree.

He did it by making games that can be completed in a few seconds and pumps them out as fast as he can.

I don't think he cares about the quality or success of his business.

Pear is often the most divisive fruit from what I've come across and heard in social settings. It's the direct contrast to a peach. A peach is sweet and intense in flavor. A pear is somewhat tart and has a bite.

Daffodil isn't a flower. It's a weed. A pest. A pretty one sure, but it's essentially a weed.

I guess you have a point.

He doesn't pay his employees either and they're essentially some of his only friends outside of Waluigi.

Err.... Small correction.

Daffodils have flowers, but it is a weed. Flower is a part of the plant, not the kind of plant.

He doesn't pay his employees either and they're essentially some of his only friends outside of Waluigi.
I will always snicker that Wario called all his friends to make a business, but never invited Waluigi.

Clearly, he's not actually his friend.

Poor Waluigi.

Actually they are.

Pears also as I said in a edit after you quoted have the opposite taste of a peach.

Peachs are intensely sweet. Pears are bitter and have a bit of a bite. I love pears myself actually.

And I did mean Dandelions. Whoops. Sorry. I need coffee.
