Has anyone here read the Manuel Bartual thread on Twitter?

In summary, a Spanish comic book writer called Manual Bartual went on vacation, when very strange things started happening to him. He chronicled his entire vacation trip via tweets. The whole thread gained a ton of traction over the last couple of days (even being #1 trend worldwide) and even though the story is very obviously fictitious, it's still entertaining.

The original thread is all glitched up due to the insane amount of replies so it's a pain to just go to the Twitter and read it, also it's in Spanish so here's a thread that translates the whole thing and includes the original tweets via pictures.

Sanity Trilogy, a Steam card and a Nintendo eShop card - no surprise what I bought with it, Sonic Mania and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove! Couldn't ask for a better way to spend the celebrations with my family!

That looks like a psychic orb in the image. I think it's a major hint the character will be that one fortune-teller girl that appeared in Ed's story, who is also speculated to be Rose's apprentice.

Since when are Disney villains misunderstood? Even if I wanted to assign some particle of sympathy, the ones on the Misunderstood end wouldn't be it at ALL. At least Scar constantly lived under his brother's shadow, at least Mother Gothel feared the cold uncaring hand of death. What the flip did Clayton and Gaston do aside from play into the author's love of bara? I admit it's been eons since I've watched Beauty and the Beast, but I BURNED Tarzan into my memory as a kid and there was absolutely no Freudian Excuse to regret Clayton going full Mumkhar. And I have no idea what would be sympathetic about Jafar aside from being sarcastic, either. I guess he's, um. . .not as bad as his look-alike Validar? I guess?

*EDIT* Kay, 'nother thing. Funny and scary are not mutually exclusive and thus not opposite ends of a spectrum. Pretty sure at least a couple of those characters don't even function on that axis.

For real though, I don't see how Ursula and Jafar are misunderstood, and Maleficent and Evil Queen should be more to the right.

First of all, Gaston is a misogynistic man child with a cult of personality that was willing to send a helpless old man to an insane asylum (which in the days of 1700s France, was essentially sending him to his death) and murder a clearly sapient creature in an attempt to have Belle for himself. Dangerously entitled and holds a lot of sway. Yeah, he's funny, but anyone who seriously considers him misunderstood needs some serious help.


While funny, I would move Cruella and Hook upward a smidge. Keep in mind Hook casually murdered one of his crew members and Cruella literally wanted to perform mass puppy genocide.

I'd put Kaa midway up the middle line. He's scary by virtue of acting on animal instinct and having hypnotism/a detachable jaw, but morally he's just a wild animal looking for food. Protagonist just isn't on the menu.

Keep in mind Clayton wanted to exploit (and ended up murdering) an endangered species. "Misunderstood" my ass. Glad he hanged himself. That ****.

I actually understand Maleficent being where she is, but it's a matter of interpretation. Back in those days, being excluded from the royal christening was a BIG deal. As an audience we don't know what previous interactions the royals had with Maleficent, so we don't know if it's justified. But at the same time, proclaiming yourself the Mistress of All Evil doesn't help one's case.

Gothel should be much higher up. She kidnapped the then-infant princess and psychologically abused her for eighteen years and attempted to murder the only outside connection she had.

Jafar isn't misunderstood. Yeah, he sees being the Royal Vizier as beneath him, but that's just as much his arrogance as the Sultan's ineptitude.

Reminder that Hans attempted double regicide on a trade partner nation in an attempt to usurp its throne. Reminder that executing him would have been more than justified.

Ursula being seen as misunderstood is a growing belief, but I...can't see it. The main argument is that she never dupes Ariel and it was the latter's fault for signing her contract...forgetting, of course, that Ariel is a minor so the contract likely isn't legally binding anyway (unless Triton just really needs to get his **** together and fix that policy). And the fact that she tried to usurp Triton's throne and lay waste to the entire ocean, killing all but the most landlocked of nations.



tl;dr: No, you can't attempt regicide and then say you were just misunderstood.

For all the Fate series fans here, one of the previous trailers for the first Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel movie has been subbed.

The biggest news though is that the movie will be coming to US theaters, so we can assume it will be coming out overseas elsewhere as well! The US release date is yet to be revealed.

Kaa is probably where he is due to all the rule 34 involving him where he hyponotises popular vidya/animu girls and I wonder what happens from there.

For the rest of them, I'll go with Kingdom Hearts lore.

-Maleficent wants to use the darkness to control all worlds. Evil for sure. Though apparently she's neutral in KH3 so???

-Clayton, Hook, Jafar, Frollo, and Lady Tremaine spawned big giant Heartless.

-Gaston TRANSFORMED INTO a Heartless. Didn't even get his heart stolen IIRC, just straight up transformed.

-Scar didn't even turn into a Heartless, he became a a lingering sentiment (similar to Terra) born from his pure will to see Simba dead and poverty and suffering brought to the Pride Lands. It still retained Scar's physical form.

Don't take this too seriously, though the KH lore stuff is what actually happens in the games

And I certainly hope Sacred Coins aren't going to be something meta changing. Actually, the only thing I'll accept if they are meta-changing is if they allow weaker heroes, like Stahl, Jagen, Henry, etc to compete with the higher tier heroes and they only affect those weaker heroes while higher tier characters can't access them at all.

Still have yet to play Manta Maria.

Manta Maria's kinda interesting, at least playing it on Turf War so far. Each side's section and the center zone all feel kind of isolated from each other due to the vertical portions of the ship all over the place. Can make a push a little hard but on the other hand it also makes the stage feel much more massive than it actually is and makes it easier to sneak into the enemy's base if you can make it past the choke point in.

I probably haven't figured it out yet, but then again I'm pretty sure not many other people have either.
