Yeah, you can actually play as all weapon classes (including Sloshers and Splatlings) this time round.
They each have levels that make use of their main forte, like the Splatling level requiring its raw fire power

Modern not having Drift being a mistake, level design looking too automated for both Modern and Classic, the Avatar looking like a bit of a mess (tho the idea of the avatar itself doesn't seem so disliked), Sonic Team coasting on nostalgia way too much and probably more I'm missing.

It differs from person to person.

Some communities I follow are really sick of the Boost formula, feel that Classic Sonic is very tacked on, and others feel the game looks very unfocused.

And of course there's the problem with Sonic Team using nostalgia too much.

So in that new Metroid game, you have teleporation points. That'll be useful, since it does seem slightly slower than something like Super Metroid.
