Explored the rest of the Yokai-Watch 2 demo.

My opinion on it stays the same, though I finally realized what my main problem with the game is.

The battle system feels...how do I put it?

You just sort of do things until you eventually win. I know that sort of sounds like every game every, but that's the best way I can describe it.

Regardless, it's still a good game. I'm not in a rush to get it, but I recommend getting the demo and see what you think from there.

From what I remember hearing, you're the cheerleader, the moral support, whereas the Yokai do the fighting. Is that it?

That sums it up pretty well.

The Yokai automatically attack the enemy, though you can do special attacks and moves after a Yokai's meter fills up to do more damage/refill other Yokai's health.

Remember how people kept saying Undertale would be forgotten in a month? Guess they were right after all

On the topic of Sun and Moon teams, I've long realized there are way too many Pokemon I want to use and a Nuzlocke wouldn't let me test them all out so I just decided to say "**** it" and do something different, so basing it off FE, I present to you all "Nuzlocke: Casual Mode"
Rules:
1-Catch every single new Pokemon you see, no duplicates. Every Pokemon must be nicknamed.
2-When a Pokemon faints, you have to box it and withdraw the first Pokemon in the first box. The fainted Pokemon should be put in the first empty slot aka at the end of the line.

Good News
I found my first ever shiny Pokemon
View attachment 117858

Bad news
I made it faint
I am sorry that you ended up losing that Shiny Marill; it's happened to the best of us. The only time I ever really lost a Shiny Pokemon was when I accidentally hit the run button while recording my encounter with a Shiny Feebas via chain-fishing. I got it back later, though.

If it makes you feel better, I've been trying to PokeRadar in X and Y a Shiny Azumarill with terrible luck so far; I think I got to like 30 or 32 encounters one time before a Psyduck appeared. :(

Being honest though, why is it so hard to figure out what grass pile to go into? ;-;

Here's how it was in THE FIRST GAME.
Yokai automatically attacked and inspirited. Here is what you could control.
Rotate: Self-explanitory, slides the wheel of 6 yokai around to put some in reserve and reallign for tribe bonuses.
Pin: Targetting system
Soultimate: Do a quick touchscreen minigame to pop a Soulimate when the gauge is full.
Can't Remember the Term: You do an "inverted" version of a Soultimate minigame to remove an inspiriting debuff from one of your yokai.
Item: Toss a food item at one of your yokai to heal, or one at an enemy yokai (once per battle) to try to raise your befriending chance.

And honestly, you had to do very little of that besides boss fights til like the three-quarters mark... or Post-game.

Yeah, normal battles in YW act in the same way like wild Pokemon battles, very easy to do. The real challenge comes from the bosses, which are essentially gym leaders.

The Flare arc had a fantastic conclusion. Glad I got to watch the episode before the channel was taken down today.

Can I just say though that they did something that should kill the anime's meant for children statement. Details below:

After Lysandre's mega gyarados is beat, he backs away and falls off of prism tower in an an effort to seemingly kill himself. He doesn't die, but the characters don't know that right away. There is also the fact Ash tries to save Lysandre with greninja but fails. Pretty dark moment to consider.

So a "Scrublocke" then :p

Usually on my first playthrough I try to catch every unique pokemon on each route (barring evolutions) and then try to evolve them as I go...of course I usually give up about halfway and just focus on training my team because it is rather time consuming trying to find any rarities...as well as the need to backtrack due to rod, surf, and rock smash encounters...and day/night encounters I missed...

I most likely will be doing the same in this game...incomplete National dex and all...

My favourite Undertale tune is one that gets overshadowed by the Other final boss themes

...Lots of people here at least tried it out. I know it wasn't your intention, but I feel insulted by that as if I can't understand anything that isn't pokemon. Again, I know you meant well.

Perhaps now is the time I admit I haven't tried it out myself... maybe I should give it a chance? Then again, I unfortunately never tried the demo of the first game, although I did possibly watch the demo at E3 2015 a year ago (I say possibly since I wasn't sure if that was the demo they were playing or part of the final game).

You should, but follow Coricus Coricus 's advice and explore everything the demo offers.

I guess I will do this then within the next few days and make sure to at least explore around the expanded area that is in the demo and complete everything there is to it. From there, I'll see what feedback I can give about the game itself from my play-through of the demo.

I played the demo for the first game...wasn't really impressed, at least not enough for me to buy the game...

From what I gathered with the battle system it was like a mix of Pokemon and Xenoblade in a way...since it has auto attacks and the Soultimates which are kinda like using Arts though not really...
Its kind of strange since your role is sort of maintaining the situation rather than trying to controlling it...so it felt rather bizarre...there's also the inspiriting involved and you as the player have to purify your inspirited Yokai so they can continue to fight (which I guess is kind of similar to healing a status ailment on a Pokemon)

I might try out the demo for YKW2, since supposedly a big improvement but I'm not really expecting to be blown away...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I might just give up halfway through it and stick with a fixed team but I still want to try out every new Pokemon but I need rules to tell me what to do and I can't do standard playthroughs anymore
From the new Pokemon, the only one I outright don't like is Bewear and some that I'm not interested but wouldn't mind trying like Morelull and whatever Flower!Klefki's name was
Probably gonna reset after doing the postgame(if there's any) and do a proper Nuzlocke then

I will note that the demo lacks the plot progression and Yo-Kai recruitment of the full game, so when you explore the demo a significant chunk of what makes the game enjoyable will be missing.

You should at least get a pretty good grasp of how the fighting works, though. And this demo has some shops and a couple of other things which IIRC the demo for the first game lacked.

I would suggest Undertale to anyone, under one condition:

You go in without knowing anything.

If you know who's who and what happens when, along with what to do at which situations, the game will not be enjoyable.

Hence why most of my One Piece and Undertale posts have spoilers because it wouldn't be fun if all the twists were spoiled for our fellow non-fans, right?

Figured I should make an Undertale post since it's the anniversary. :p

Man I love that game. But seriously, love it or hate it, you can't deny it has an amazing soundtrack. Seriously one of my favorite game OSTs out there. And for some reason I found my enjoyment of each character depended partly on how good their theme song was. Going off of that, my favorite character is, bar none, Papyrus. Such a fun character, and one of my favorite video game characters actually. Hammy, boisterous, and quirky, but also quite naïve makes for a fun mix. I still need to get to ordering my Papyrus figure and finishing my Papyrus Smash moveset (right now I only have the specials).

So yeah, happy birthday, Undertale! Glad you still have a random, even if it's quieter now. :p

Edit: I meant fandom in the last sentence, but mobile thinks I'm Scooby-Doo apparently.

I'm working on something game releated but I need inspiration.

What do you think the biggest things to happen in gaming this year were?
As others have said, Overwatch was a HUGE one.

Beyond that, everything involving Pokémon and its 20th anniversary. Gen I rereleases, Pokémon Go, Sun and Moon prerelease and eventual release, all of it. Also just to make sure I'm not somehow that behind, Uncharted 4 was this year, right? If so, that too. That was huge.

As for worst things, Disney Infinity getting cancelled.

Actually, I disagree. I won't deny that going in blind is by far the optimal way to play. That being said, I went into the game almost completely spoiled for everything and still found it immensely enjoyable, and I'd probably rank it among my all-time favorite games.

So while I'd definitely recommend going in blind, I think the game is solid enough on its own merits that it can still be enjoyed regardless.

Overwatch - The big new IP that's extremely popular and had it's fair share of controversy.
Breath of the Wild - The biggest game at E3.
SFV EVO finals on ESPN - That definitely V-Triggered plenty of people.
Pokemon's Anniversary - Pokemon Go has over 500 million downloads, anime's been pretty good recently, Gen 1 rereleases, Gen 7 is coming out.

I forgot about Overwatch. Or rather I forgot it was Overwatch's offical release this year. I followed the Alpha and Beta and kinda missed the fact it was just early release stuff.

Still, some good stuff. Other things I'd say are Mighty Number 9 and No Man's Sky but for the wrong reasons.

Despair arcs 10 episode ****ed me up

Im crying fam
Eh, personally I thought it was underwhelming. But the whole Despair arc has been underwhelming and filled with things that raises even more questions.
Juzo being gay is surprising. Not the fact he is, but that they outright revealed it. Even with Nagito they danced around the bush. Kind of dumb he didn't want to be outed that much he let Junko destroy the world, though.
