The best rival who uses the best Pokemon!
Also goes through some serious character development as shown with his ...rejected the weak and most likely mistreated his pokemon in order to make them stronger, after suffering defeats to both the player and Lance he realizes he was misguided...His Golbat finally evolving into Crobat showed he built a stronger bond with his Pokemon...
we need more nasty rivals like Silver (and Blue I guess)...
Actually, being honest here with this question, but have you guys used your real names in Pokemon games? Back then, it didn't really bother me, but now it kinda does since I have had a slight interest in competitive Pokemon; I don't want people to see my real name, honestly.
I always did, though now that I replay them I usually just put the default name(may alternate between color name and normal name)
And considering I'm 90% sure I'll be playing SM with the female trainer, I don't think I'd be able to put my real name
While meh in the original Ruby/Sapphire games, he improves big time in the remakes. He was an interesting spin on the rival concept. Instead of someone who was a jerk who you wanted to beat in a Pokemon battle or your average friend, Wally is a person who starts out timid and not very confident at first, but as the story develops, he becomes a more confident and stronger trainer. It ultimately culminates in the battle in Victory Road where you see how his character has completely changed since you first met him. Again, the remakes highlight this with the theme. I mean, seriously, this has to be one of the best tracks in Pokemon history.
In summary, Wally stands out because he was a person who was following in your foot steps. To him, you are his role model. In Wally's eyes, YOU are his rival. Beating him in that final battle did feel painful thinking about that, but it was also very admirable to see he took the loss like a champ in that battle. He's also a pretty tough yet fun foe to face in the Battle Maison rematch.
He also gets points for having the best Ralts evolution on his team, Gallade.
Lysandre is ****** !
When the first part showed all of them watching, I hoped this would happen and I'm glad it did! This looks epic! Surprised the rivals aren't here as well
I bet the rivals are still trying to gather all the children and elders to a safe location, or are they keeping them under check by the time these two episodes role in.
I too like how the Gym Leaders decided to take action after watching the broadcast. Props to Team Rocket for documenting the ongoing crisis and revealing Team Flare to the world to convince the Gym Leaders to take action!
Oh yeah; I forgot to tell you guys I got a Shiny Ralts at 12 Encounters while chaining in Alpha Sapphire. It ended up being Male, but that does not matter since Gardevoir can still be Male. What do you guys think I should do, though? Evolve it into Gallade, or keep it as Gardevoir? If it helps to decide, it's got a Timid nature, which is not good for a Pokemon like Gallade.
Small Note: I wish I could change the OT name; in Alpha Sapphire, its my real name. I'd rather it be my username.
The spoiler relates to something I did while researching on if its still possible to evolve a Male Ralts into a Male Gardevoir still...
As of now, I am going to remind myself not to search up "male gardevoir" and look at Google Images relating to this ever again...
My bias would tell me to evolve that Ralts into Gallade because Gallade was pretty much made to be Gardevoir's male counterpart.
My real answer is that it depends on what you plan on using Gardevoir/Gallade for. Do you want to use the Pokemon for competitive play, or are you just trying to complete the story? If it's the first option, definitely go for Gardevoir, but if it's the second option, I wouldn't make nature that much of a priority, but that's just me.
Just a heads up, if you obtained this shiny Ralts during the story and haven't beaten the game, it is possible to obtain a Dawn Stone before receiving it in your final battle with him by completing that one Super Training mini-game that gives you said evolution stone.

I've used my real name pretty often. The only games that I haven't used my real name were for my Japanese imports of SoulSilver and Black. That might change once I get Pokemon Sun, but I can't be sure at the moment.

My plan was to use it for competitive play; Gardevoir with a Timid nature is apparently a force to be reckened with. It does not have Trace (rather Telepathy, which is useful for evading moves like Surf and Earthquake), but I imagine I can still make it be a powerhouse somehow. I also beat the game ages ago, so that's not a worry.

Definitely evolve Ralts into Gardevoir then. Timid and Modest are Gardevoir's best natures, with Timid helping it when it comes to speed.
Telepathy is especially good for doubles for the reasons you mentioned, so I'd say that Ralts you caught will already work perfectly for a doubles format.
Telepathy Gardevoir will still work fine for singles, though if you really wanted to get a Ralts with Trace, you'll have to do some breeding to achieve a perfect IV Ralts with that ability (as well as using the Masuda method if you want to still keep it as a shiny).

Then that is my plan; a Shiny Gardevoir. Wanted to mention it has good IVs in Attack (welp) and Sp.Def (that's good), with relatively superior potential. Being honest here, I think I'm fine as it is; breeding it and making it shiny will be a difficult task as is. What do you think of it overall with the IVs and other factors combined?
I like the fact he evolved his Kadabra and Haunter more
'Cause it means he made at least one friend to be able to do it

Hugh is the best rival because he had an actual part in the plot and wasn't actually edgy but regretful about what happen to his baby sister's Pokemon.
Plus he had the best theme and did more help than any of the rivals against the evil team.
I kinda hated Silver and still do because he wasn't even a rival but just an asshole who had daddy issues and was in the way

Having good IVs in five stats would be more preferred for competitive, but if you're not in the mood for breeding, I wouldn't recommend going through the entire hassle of having to hatch tons of eggs just to get a perfect IV shiny Ralts.
That aside, I think the shiny Gardevoir should still do pretty well. The IVs in Special Defense are still a very good help, and the Timid nature combined with the Telepathy should make it pretty useful. Just make sure you EV train it. Investing in EVs for mostly Special Attack and Speed and some HP should be a top priority, with some investment in Defense and Special Defense if you have room.
Once you've trained up your Gardevoir, test it in a few battles and see how it performs.

I gotta say some things about Metroid: Other M. And fewer things about Federation Force. I figured here would be the best place to put it. But anyways, paragraph incoming!
OK, so Other M... The GAME is good. Let's talk about that for just a sec. It's good. It is an awesome representation of what a 2-D Metroid would look like if there was a Z-Axis in the original game. The game is super easy to control. Simple, sweet, and fun although a little clunky specifically in transition to First-Person. The game is face paced and has some awesome action... That sentence, however, is what spells out the gameplay's problem. It's almost all action. Linear action. A very tiny bit of exploration is in its entirety. Which is NOT Metroid. Metroid is all about exploration. So that's a negative on its part. Everything about the game is not Metroid...
Including the story. Oh boy here we go. The story is boring. It drags on too long. It makes Samus nothing like the Samus we love. It tries to be a sequel to, arguably, one of the greatest games ever made. It almost tries to retcon the entire Metroid series, most notably the Metroid Prime series. For ****s sake it even tried to give Samus PTSD over a Baby Metroid even after she's seen her parents slaughtered in front of her. The hell? The Daddy syndrome is even worse considering she cries over him leaving when any other time she would have just waved them off. She's cold. That's why she's a bounty hunter. Duh?
TL;DR ~ Other M is a good game with a bad story. BUT it is a bad Metroid game. Nothing makes sense in continuity at all. And the gameplay is way too much action for a Metroid game. But seriously, applaud Team Ninja for their gameplay. They did a good job.
Now, about Federation Force. This game... Is actually really really good. However, it is only really really good when you have friends. Otherwise, when you get to later levels, you will be constantly shooting at damage sponges for WAY too long. Seriously, the enemies take way to much damage near the end of the game. It is also quite action focused but it's broken up by quite open exploration. Especially for a mission based game. Way more than Other M. The level design is fantastic. The mission structure is great. The action is awesome. The gameplay's fun. I definitely recommend the game. As long as you get some friends to play with you. Offline or online, friends are a necessity for this game.

I also want to mention how Other M was meant to be a new direction for the Metroid series...but instead took too many steps back from other Metroid games instead of pushing it forward...Sakamoto dumbed down a lot of aspects that makes it a 'Metroid' game because he thought players weren't bright enough to do things on our own in the game...the game features so much hand holding it's not even funny (yet it also leaves you in the dark, sometimes literally, in other areas)...Samus' narrations for example leaves nothing to the player's interpretation, it's not just that's it's boring or droning or dull, it's literally put in the game to tell the player what's going on instead of letting us figure things out on our own...
And as you mentioned it was an attempt at retroactive continuity...and this isn't a ''Kraid is actually supposed to be big' sort of retcon but a 'all those games you've been playing for the past ten years never happened' kind of retcon...which is something that doesn't sit well with fans of those games...
Objectively the game is 'meh', functionally speaking it works (at least until you encounter the game-breaking glitch that soft-locks the game)...honestly the gameplay (which would've been a lot better without the poor control set-up) isn't good enough to make up for the horrid story and at times I feel it's overstated as a way to justify the game being good, when it's really not that great I felt...but it's biggest problem lies in the name it carries...I feel like it would've done a whole lot worse had it not been a 'Metroid' game since it did somehow manage to break 1 million in sales though it's still in the bottom half of the franchise...it wouldn't have nearly been as hated, but it would be pretty irrelevant...
This game felt way too ambitious for what it is...
As for Fed Force, it pretty much has the same problem as it's not really a Metroid game, though for what it is, it's actually a good game, and I'm saying this as someone who's played and beat the game solo, I've had a few issues with some missions (which were very clearly designed for multiplayer co-op) but after figuring out what I needed to do and how to better prepare myself properly it really wasn't too bad going forward...I, actually really disliked the final mission...It could have played out a whole lot better...
And I'm very confused by the affinity with shooting balls in this game...
I felt like Federation Force would've been a whole lot better if it was actually treated like a Metroid game to an extent...Less missions but they last longer (with checkpoints or save zones of course), with a better emphasis on exploration like you actually need to figure out where to go instead of just moving forward the whole time, some missions you were supposed to figure out where to go but all you needed to do was just keep moving forward and perhaps backtrack slightly just to open a door ahead...sometimes I felt missions were literally just pointless filler and at times didn't really contribute anything to the game's plot or development and sometimes could've been better left out or added in with other missions...heck some missions are literally JUST boss fights...Some areas could've been a lot better if they were implemented more often, such as out of suit missions which were fun but featured some pretty simplistic platforming that could've been a lot more challenging...
Went with Bianca, though Cheren's at the top for me too and choosing between them was hard. I prefer the friendlier rivals really, and these two did it best. Great battle theme, competent teams, and a lot of actual character development. Went with Bianca between the two in the end since she got slightly more development IMO.
I must be in the minority because Silver's my LEAST favorite rival, haha. Yeah, I may hold apathy toward all Kalos rivals (except Tierno, he's cool. He dances with Corphish and just doesn't care), but I only feel antipathy toward Silver. The guy was an asshole for the sake of it. Yeah, Giovanni abandoned him, I know, but it doesn't excuse his behavior entirely. At least Blue had redeeming qualities.

These are the thoughts I've expressed on these games for so long. Especially how Other M is a good game with awful writing and plot (aside from the wonder of Anthony). I've gotten stares when I shared those opinions in other places so I'm really glad someone else understands.
I refuse to say Other M is a good game with bad writing. Why? That. ****ing. DPAD! Want to know why I don't own Other M anymore? That game PHYSICALLY harms me by using the dpad which kills my thumb! The 'point and click' sections are bad, as you need to look for things without being told what to do, not to mention that one is IN THE DARK MEANING YOU HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW IN THE DARK! That's just ****ing dumb It's as if I blindfolded you and tell you that you need to pick up a specific coin on the floor. The soundtrack is unmemorable with the exception of Ridley's themes and one of the other boss themes. The FPS segments are poorly done as you can't even move, so if you're required to shoot something eith missles, you better make sure you're far away from it and that everything else is dead. I can give Other M brownie points, but I'd be putting a brownie in a pile of ****. The brownie itself is great! But it's not worth scooping it out of a pile of ****
Due to the channel being dead and having little to even no traffic, I just had to delete it and told most of the people who joined to use the Source Gaming Discord, much easier and it's pretty much like the NintenZone discord anyway

I just had a dream, where I was in a Library, and they had an empty kiosk with the exception of a single piece of paper which had information on an upcoming Nintendo Direct...
Except this direct was for some reason solely going to be focused on the Regi trio....and that a certain claw item wasn't going to return....yes, I'm confused as well....
So I go to Twitter so I can post it here...except I can't because the image that was with the Twitter post was HEAVILY nsfw....
I don't get dreams very often, but when I do....I wake up confused as ****....

Not just that but it was posted on NINTENDO's twitter, and there was no nsfw warning it was just there out in the open on Nintendo's feed...
One of the most confusing parts for me was the removal of a claw item...what the Razor Claw? they won't get rid of that it's like an evolution stone and Weavile's too popular of a pokemon...Grip Claw's pretty irelevant but why would they remove it? Metal Claw TM? Dragon Claw? waht?

The ONE thing on my team that could handle her Wormadam due to it having surprisingly good coverage. It needed Shell Smash but Quick Claw activated. To this day I still can't beat her strategies, and she only recently found out about IVs
