it will pretty much be a strawpoll tournament for nintenzone on what 1st party nintendo series we want revived

For now I have the following series

• Advance Wars
• Golden Sun
• Mysterious Murasame Castle
• Duck Hunt
• Punch-Out!!
• 2D Kid Icarus, like NES and GB
• Game and Watch
• Wario Land
• F-Zero
• Sin and Punishment
• Daigasso! Band Brothers

• Drill Dozer
• Starfy
• Custom Robo
• For whom the frog bell tolls (this one's for you BluePikmin)

I have excluded the folowing series
Chibi-Robo- as much as I feel it could fit, it kind of just got the game
Mother-"the series is dead"
third parties- trying to keep this simple

Note, there is about a 50% chance I will forget about this by tomorrow.

And I don't think Punch Out needs another revival when just got one so scratch that one off the list. Unless you wanna take the base Wii game and remaster it and add extra fights in the base game and DLC

It's weird to think that Punch-Out has been gone for almost the same amount of time Advance Wars has. Only that the former franchise was lucky enough to get a rep in Smash Bros.

Speaking of it, I just watched episode 20
That was certainly unexpected but at the same time doesn't feel like an asspull
And here I thought Archer returning Rin's stone in the first episode was some continuity error, talk about a Chekov's Gun

And speak of the devil(maybe literally), Kirei is back
And what's up with Lancers and their tendency to kill themselves? Just after I started liking him too

And yeah, Lancer turned out to be pretty cool, too bad this series has something against cool guys with spears
Guess being Lancer really is suffering

And where the hell is Assassin? And I mean both, fake Assassin kinda just disappeared with no mention and true Assassin has still not been shown

Yeah, the Lancers killing themselves has become a joke among the Fate fanbase. Whenever a new Lancer is revealed for the spinoffs, there's usually a comment like, "Let's hope his/her master doesn't force him/her to kill him/herself." Not all Lancers meet ends similar to Diarmuid or Cu Cuthulain though.

As for Assassin, True Assassin won't appear in this route, but don't worry, you'll get to see Fake Assassin again before the show ends.

I also made a slight error when I typed the previous post. It's Episode 21 that contains some deleted content, not episode 20. I can tell you about what was cut once you reach that point.

That multiple routes thing might be a good thing for a VN but it unfotunately doesn't translate well at all in an anime

Rool is seriously lacking in recent appearances but they feel his large fandom alone should get past that agenda (or did we think...).

Even I can admit that the Murasame Castle ronins (Takamaru fans) clung on to any recent cameo and guest appearance to counter the relevance argument. Though the real issue was the series being Japan only until it was coincidently localized around the same week he got hit with the Assist Trophy of Doom.

Well that explains a lot. At least I can be fully prepared for when it does happen for Smash 5's round of darts. Most of my choices are either obscure (Fatal Frame, etc), unlikely (Senran Kagura, etc), or characters that were likely until they got the short end of the stick (, K. Rool, Ridley, etc).

"Reps". People went on and on about which franchises were "over-repped", which "deserved more reps", and so forth. They turned speculation into a contest between which series was "better" when that was the completely wrong way to look at it.

Relevance does matter, though...for better or worse. Absence from the spotlight is something that it seems you can only overcome if you're a Smash veteran or an iconic retro or third party character. It makes sense to an extent; they want characters that at least some part of the fanbase will recognize and want to acknowledge the newer blood for what it's been able to do. Would be rather unfair if they obsessed so much over who was "deserving" and only focused on characters from one era, wouldn't you say?

Everyone got so high strung about any given character's identity and which franchise they hailed from. What they should've been looking at was if they'd been in anything notable lately, how well a moveset could be built around their abilities, and what new and unique things they could bring to the roster.

Exactly. This annoys me so much. Those are guidelines, not hard rules. One can argue he isn't consistent with his guidelines for every series, and sure, that's a fair point. But that's not trolling or lying. It's just a person having biases. Like everyone else.
