Age doesn't cause "minds being less stable."
Most elderly people are just as sharp as they used to be until they start dying or become diseased.
Whatever, you're allowed to be factually incorrect.

Seriously though, your brain starts to decline in your mid to late 40s, and you lose more and more brain capacity.
And most of those mental diseases coincide with old age. There's ways to keep yourself from getting those problems, but as you get older and older your health declines more and more. aAd again, it affects different people to varying degress, however, I'd say that some politicians seem to be at some kind of age where they are not well and probably should be retiring.
It's not to say that anyone old is by default less stable than anyone young, it's just that getting old is a phase of uncontrollable decliment in health, just like being a kid or a teen is a phase of devolopment. I think it's better to acknowledge stuff like that rather than pretend that when people get old no one's going to get handicaps that come with it. But that's just human biology, I guess.
