Pretty sure they said upcoming Wii U/3DS games including the games you mentioned meaning were going to see others like Color Splash and Federation Force. Also think this is where we're going to hear about Codename N-Stars.

A few months ago I figured the reason for not having a Direct was because Nintendo was building up to a huge E3 but I couldn't been more wrong with that. Methinks Nintendo really has nothing left to show with the Wii U and not having any 3DS games to show off for next year hence why their only focusing on upcoming titles before doing the NX reveal in the Fall or something.

I just want to know why there's never been a Dark type Gym before lol.

They specifically said what games would be shown off, and it's just TMS, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, Pokemon Sun & Moon, Pokemon GO, and of course Zelda.

They're doing a day long stream of Zelda, and the second day has those other games.

We aren't getting any other games.

Theories suggest is because Dark type represents 'evil'...not to mention a lot of dark type attacks are basically built around naughty behaviour 'Theif' 'Knock off' 'sucker punch' etc...gym leaders are supposed to be representatives for their respective cities hench a typing that promotes 'evil doings' is generally viewed as a less than ideal representative...
They're still shown as e4 members because those are just generally strong trainers...and not trainers meant to set an example within their community...

Which is why we have the leader of Team Rocket as a respectable Gym Leder of Viridian.

Giovanni as a Gym Leader was basically a ruse or a cover-up...

I don't particularly agree with this because not all dark types are evil (Absol) and I feel a dark type specialist could easily make for a suitable role model...

It may be called "Evil" in the Japanese version but there's no such thing as a Pokemon that's naturally evil, Poison types are also usually associated with the evil teams yet we have 2 Poison Gyms
Also, Dark is Not Evil is a thing

Dumb or not...Dark type hasn't seen a Gym leader yet...its not like GameFreak forgot about the type since there are three e4 members who use dark types, there really isn't any other explanation...

I feel like now's a good opportunity given Sun and Moon to have a Dark type Gym leader if there's going to be a town tied closely with the Moon and night time activities...

Because I don't see how you can possibly do so.

There are always enemies near them, so if you talk to them too early, the enemies kill them.

If you try to stall and pick off enemies before talking to them, you run into a brick wall when trying to deal with the infinitely spawning Wyvern Lords at the top of the map, as it seems like it's impossible to get to them without grabbing Effie or Arthur's attention, and that either leads one of your units to die, or your unit will kill Arthur or Effie anyway when they counterattack.

I'm starting to think talking to them is just supposed to be a way to get a free hit on enemies, since they all go for them, and them dying is inevitable.

Dark has MORE than enough material to make a good Gym, the only issue is GF not wanting to do it. Personally, I'm happy with my favourite type not having a gym. After all, Dark is an exquisite taste only for the Elite, so it gives me a bigger ego using them

You can even have a twist where the Gym Leader is secretly the head of the villainous team in the region and it leads to the final conflict in the game. A nice callback to Gen 1 and something that hasn't been done before.

I don't see anymore DLC happening for Mario Kart 8. The DLC we got pretty much increased the game's content count by ~50%.

What reason would they have to randomly tweet about MK64? Nintendo's two main social network accounts (Facebook, Twitter are filled with posts that only regard upcoming/recent games, not to mention they hardly deliver any more info than what we've already seen in a Direct two or more months ago. The last time they tweeted about games that weren't from this gen was when Star Fox Zero was about to launch worldwide, showing their acknowledgement of the SF64 timeline regardless of Zero being a 'reimagining'.
