I get that. And honestly I'd be all for a win. Like I said, it would help further along Ash the most. One of my biggest gripes with the anime is it's lack of character development (especially with Ash), and this would be a big thing with him. It would show that Ash has grown, has learned, has accomplished something in his twenty year span of being a concept, instead of being just a glorified tourist meant to show off the next brand new region.
At least validate that Ash can do what he planned to do since the very first episode, rather than throw in some forgettable paper bag thrown in just to have Ash lose and woo new region!
I'm still not over Tobias for that reason. Because **** Tobias.
And hell I still don't see why he can't do both. Just because he wins a region that doesn't mean he'll never lose, or that now he's forced to be in that one region for the rest of his life.
But, if they wouldn't let him win any of the other regions before this, why should I see Kalos being the only exception? I can't deny it, it's a status quo. And by God they will stick to it.
I'm pretty sure when Alola comes around and we get our new Pokemon league arc it's just going to result in the same conclusion.
Because Ash isn't a protagonist, or really a character. He's a marketing tool meant to sell merchandise to new and old demographics alike. He won't change. His fate won't change. Because at his core is toys, and the money of consumers to get said toys. And they want it to stay that way.
It's because of that flat-lining progression that I stopped watching the Pokemon anime, but it's also the same progression that keeps selling toys.
So I guess they're doing something right.

IGN's review seemed kind of half-assed tbh...didn't really mention anything that sways me one way or another...

GameXplain actually did well to explain various aspects of the game and how it works and functions without giving away too much (Metroids confirmed though) Going over how the missions work, details on a lot of the mod up-grades and how they work in the game, as well as touching on both multiplayer and single player experiences...
NintendoLife...."Samus Who?"
....ignoring this, it's a fair review, though almost too fair, but some points were similar that were mentioned by GameXplain...I noticed some complaints about lack of customization, I mean Metroid's customization was limited to the last suit power-up you acquired, paint-jobs and colours are a step up from this to begin with...
NintendoWorldSupport...Once again a pretty positive review, mentions additional power-ups can be found through exploration in each level (I believe GameXplain mentioned this before also) which is good to hear since there is incentive to explore the area...one troubling thing to hear was how longer levels require to be replayed entirely if you die so if there's problems with a boss at the end it may be a little frustrating (ptsd flashbacks of Metroid NES returns *shudders*)...overall another fair review

In closing, generally there was a fair amount of positivity coming from most reviewers, and these reviewers took the game more for waht it was rather than what it wasn't and accepted it as such, some even loved the game...At the end of the day though it seems this game is very reliant on multiplayer as a lot of the mission are designed almost specifically for multiplayer, even though generally the single player was still doable, just a bit more challenging (I'm fine with a challenge I just don't want the single player experience to suffer too much from this) There's a fair bit of exploration added though, expectedly it is rather limited to a more linear mission based system which is once again more in-line with a multiplayer core...Proper Metroid games wouldn't function well as multiplayers, especially those that are supposed to be co-ops afterall so compromises have to be made understandably...After reading through the reviews and giving myself a decent grasp of what this game's about, I going to get this game? Hold on...This guy just said that the producer said this was originally going to be just some generic shooter, until execs made it a Metroid spin-off...every other source I've seen stated it was always planned for such...This is the first time in over a year since the game was announced that I've heard that this was the case (unless I see a source that actually states this I'm taking it as misinformation since it contradicts what I've heard)...Either way, part way through he appears to take a bit of a turn, sounding like a major skeptic at first, he ended up enjoying it for what it is...once again, like what I've heard from other positive reviews...

Personally, I think Federation Force would've been fared over better if it was its own original IP (claims about it being a Metroid clone be damned). But as it stands I don't think it is "petition it to be scrapped" bad nor offensive.

I think what surprises me more about the Kalos league is that people seemed to be more pissed about this outcome then they were about the Unova League's, I don't think I ever would've guessed that the Kalos league ending would outdo Ash losing to an idiot in the amount of backlash it got.
If I can, I'll try to pick it up this weekend. The good reviews (particularly from GameXplain since I know they were pretty skeptical about it) makes me think it'll be a worthwhile game to play, it's just a matter of getting a team together since I've had bad luck with Monster Hunter in that regard.
Other options I feel would be subterranean or within the depths of the oceans to contrast the surface based lion and air based bat, so something like a spider would also be an option.
I'm glad to see that Federation Force is getting good reception overall, I know a lot of fans will write it off for its timing and other real life issues, but it's good to hear that despite the vitriol there's a good game underneath it all.
If I can, I'll try to pick it up this weekend. A Scorpion is a good guess, particularly if it is alchemy related. I don't think that will be the dolphin though since the Chinese leak makes it sound like they're separate entities, but I could be wrong there.

Like in all the previews, these two are horrible at playing the game AND talking so there's not too much to see. Sonic looks legit though.
Characters who aren't Sonic get a speed boost in his levels as well. Pretty neat.

Not to mention that, while a 8-years and a 6+-years hiatuses are horrible for Metroid, it took 10 years for DK to have a new mainline title between Donkey Kong Jr. Math and both Donkey Kong '94 and Donkey Kong Country.

A majority of them just saying that you kill off Samus, which is not what happens at all.
As well saying it was symbolism and that Nintendo really is trying to kill off Metroid.
Adding to that is how everyone's saying that the series is dead for good after this, ignoring the scene after the credits which clearly shows there's plans for the franchise.
