Did anyone see the commercial for the Mini NES?

Just in case anyone wanted to see how they were advertising it.

Personally, I really want get this.

I own some of the games on the VC, but having my first system in mini form with a R.O.B amiibo sounds like the best thing ever.

Today would have been Robin William's birthday.

Here's to a man who made me, along with countless others, laugh. It can be a rare commodity.

...Huh, so Robin Williams was born on my birthday?
Didn't realize that.

I guess I can add that to the list of other things that happened on July 21, like the release of the Virtual Boy, Pokemon 2000 in the US, and the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book.

(More like you were born on his. :p)
Well, on a happier note, Happy Birthday. :colorful:

May your continual rebellion lead to greater and noble endings.
Well, er, yeah, you know what I mean. XD
Thank you.

There's a Kirby: Planet Robobot demo on the 3DS eShop.

There's also one for Mario & Sonic Rio 2016 for the Wii U now.

This is based on Europe though so I can't say if the same applies internationally.

I would try both right now but I'm kinda determined to try and beat these unfair Sonic Generations stage mods.

There's a lot I disagree with in this one but I'll leave it here for others to have a look.
. . .

. . . . . . . .

Every time I hear the "Sonic hasn't been good since 3&K and he'll never be good again" comments the internet seems to have on infinite loop, a part of my psyche cracks into little tiny pieces.

I should probably have something more of value to say to that, but after the sheer number of times I've seen the first video game series I ever cared about talked about like this I almost went into rant mode and at this point Coricus.exe has failed and needs to reboot.

Post Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

SA1 and 2 were good games.
Sonic Shuffle is BAD.
Heroes was okay, but the repetition of it really brought it down.
Advance 1 was great, 2 good, and 3 depends on who you ask.
Battle is actually a great spinoff.
Rush is great, Rush Adventure is weighed a bit down by the changes.
06 is not even the worst 3D sonic game.
Secret Rings is.
Black Knight has enough fun with its concept, as simple as it ends up.
Unleashed is a damn good game with honestly Werehog's battle theme and lack of a drop shadow being the two big issues to me.
Rivals and Rivals 2 are enjoyable but "budget" titles.
Sonic Chronicles is very mediocre.
Colors and Generations are some of the best games of the series, albeit they come off short.
Lost World is bad, not horrible.
Rise of Lyric is a big contender for worst 3D entry.
Shattered Crystal is okay, nothing more.

Oh yeah, the Riders games.
Riders 1 was good except for that damn Jet vs Sonic race at the end of babylon.
Zero Gravity mechanically was probably better but felt far weaker.
Free Riders is a camera game that feels like it.

I think that covers it all.

Tried the Monster Hunter Generations Demo

Used the Lance because why would I not want to use a giant spear?

Wound up barely beating the Easy Mode target with only 10 minutes left. I'm pretty sure that is really slow.

Not sure if i'm terrible, the lance has horrible damage, or i'm just doing it wrong*

*Other than playing singleplayer

I can respect that.

Most of the games you have an outright negative opinion of I haven't even tried.

Lowest what I've played (well, other than '06 come to think of it but considering the low amount of progress I've made on that after all these years "I haven't exactly gotten the full experience on that one) goes is "very mediocre," and while I enjoyed Chronicles well enough I'll admit that the ending was a troll.

Let's hope the new game ends up being under the "good" list.

You forgot Shadow.

Otherwise, you covered it all. And Rise of Lyric is even worse than Secret Rings due to its immense glitches(although they did get fixed down the line... and the game had nothing else of interest then. RoL was extremely mediocre).

...unless you play Sword and Shield... or Dual Blades... or heck, a properly played Hammer isn't that slow.

Lance is a tricky weapon. I'd advise doing the training first before trying a weapon on a monster.

If you use Guild, be sure to use R+A,X to close distances. You can even mount by using Forward + B + X while charging.

Today is Waluigi's birthday (unofficially, as it's the anniversary of Mario Tennis 64 being released in Japan).

Happy bday!
Happy Birthday, WAA!

Hope you get your own game soon, or at least be a part of Wario's games.....

EDIT: Oh and Rebellious Treecko Rebellious Treecko too!
Rude of me to not wish you a happy birthday and only Waluigi. :p

Shadow: Same as heroes. An OK game weighed down by its repetitiveness.

And I'll explain my reasonings below.

I can respect that.

Everything worse than OK, reasoning.
Sonic Shuffle: For a Mario Party clone, it being bound to Card values for effectively everything, Mini-games being incredibly rare, and the absurdly long loading times lead to an unenjoyable experience per board, with I think 7 or 8 in total.
06: What can I say that hasn't before? Glitchiness, controls that feel untested, unsettling graphics, Shadow's speed, and a medicore application of what could have been a damn good story.
Secret Rings: Horribly unresponsive controls. Absolutely non-sensical path of progression. Some of the worst missions/levels of the series, repeatedly. That ending. And... most of all, at no point it felt fun. Even Rise of Lyric had some level of enjoyment pre-patch with how stupidly held together it was.
Lost World: Dear god. Motion controls alone made both versions nightmarish (pre-WiiU patch. 3DS Secret Stages. Honestly most of the late level design in WiiU especially. The most uninteresting and bland villains. Writing that makes people act truly out of character. And the GRINDING you have to do in a SONIC GAME to BEAT THE STORY. It isn't even "do extra missions" or "explore stages carefully" like Generations and Unleashed respectively. You have just to redo stages for more animals.
Rise of Lyric: This game is like Superman 64. A liscensed game by people who don't know what they're doing it seems. Very hallow writing. It's emptiness and mediocrity through and through.

Free Riders: It's a kinect game. That should say everything about how it goes.

So what are your impressions of Federation Fart Blast Ball?

I've killed Senran Kagura to make more room for it (Thanks to my cousins deleting files). I'm just curious as to whether the game is still clunky as every other impression so far.

Well, teeeechnically.

Post Sonic 3&K =/= Modern Sonic, as there's quite a few spinoffs in the gap between.

And then there's a couple of other titles as well.

*cracks open History of Sonic the Hedgehog*

Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic 4 Episodes 1 and 2, Sonic Triple Trouble (by like a month), Sonic Blast, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic Drift 2, Tails' Skypatrol, Tails' Adventure, Sonic Labyrinth, Sonic the Fighters, Sonic R, Sonic Pinball Party, aaand some crossovers.

And Sonic Jump and Sonic Dash. And a couple of really minor/obscure games I left off.

. . .Mostly just wanted to do a history lesson, LOL.

Apparently amiibo unlock skins.

And a Ridley skin is a in-game unlock.

Legitimately forgot about Sonic 4. But let me go down those, from what I've played.

Labyrinth: Bad. Sonic with a crawling pace in isometric zones should say enough.
3D Blast: OK, basically Labyrinth but better.
Knuckles Chaotix: OK. Very varying level designs. Some of the most interestingly handled special stages (in a good way), but something that really requires understanding of the game from a pretty early point for you to handle it well.
Sonic R: Honestly, OK-to-good. It's awkward, to say the least, and playing as anyone but forms of Sonic is just handicapping yourself. But it's actually enjoyable enough. The Soundtrack remains the best part of it.
Sonic The Fighters: It's... functional. Metal Sonic is a nightmare. The game honestly feels horribly imbalanced. But it really just stands as a Sonic arcade fighter.
Sonic 4 Episode 1: Alright. Nothing special besides the stupid amount of lives it gives you.
Sonic 4 Episode 2: Ehhh its okay. Tails as a gimmick is meh. Stage design has gone down. And... it just didn't leave an impression.
