The reason why I don't really believe in the paranormal even though I experienced a paranormal event is because I was taking medication at the time that could explain most of the strange events that happened

I do love me some paranormal.

...
I had two cases of seeing "shadow people" when I was a kid.
Both of which took place in the first house I grew up in, and both of which were clinging up where the wall meets the ceiling. It's really odd, I never freaked out like you'd expect a kid to do, I just stood there and stared them down on both occasions, they didn't have faces but I had the intense feeling of them staring back at me. Definitely wasn't just a trick of shadows or anything, because they were against brightly lit walls, and I watched them for at least 5-10 seconds a piece, only for them to vanish the moment I looked away. Could have just been dreams, but they're oddly specific and short occurrences that are nothing like any other dreams I can remember.

Mundane Matt said the story of the guy trying to steal the Zelda demo at E3 is BS because "There is no such thing as a wii u hacking community. The wii u doesn't have a large enough audience to have a hacking community"
Oh wow, the ignorance.

Speaking of ignorance...

As for the Color Splash controversy:

A lot of people jumped to conclusions without checking out the footage for themselves. The two quotes Quinn posted weren't even close to each other, and watching it makes it VERY apparent it's not GG/SJW related. The Exposed tagline should have tipped most people off as Watergate:Exposed was huge. If people had taken a moment and fact checked, the situation would have calmed down a lot quicker.

As far as "even if it wasn't intentional, Nintendo should have known and [is therefore to blame]". I disagree with that sentiment 100%.

With that line of thinking you could say things like "Own an Apple device? You are supporting some messed up working conditions in China. Oh it wasn't your intention? You are still to blame".

Nintendo is really an ignorant company. They are very insular, I'm sure that GG/SJW didn't even cross their mind when writing the script -- especially if the script is a faithful translation/ localization of the Japanese script.

Intention matters so much. The whole thing of microaggressions have gotten a little out of control. Sometimes people really are just ignorant-- for no fault of their own. It doesn't mean you can jump down people's throat. On the other side, the harassment is NOT okay. If people had ignored it, it wouldn't be such a big deal (and here I am commenting on it).

The world would be a far better place if we remembered that everyone is human, and we weren't such assholes to each other online.

Do you believe in the paranormal? Like ghosts and stuff?
No.
My belief in those stuff vanished when I embraced science. To this day, I still don't believe in anything that doesn't have a proper scientific explanation. (Although I wouldn't have minded that stuff existing. :p)

But the game was made with a Japanese audience in mind, so again how can this be a weeaboo game?
It seems to alienated the Japanese audiences too. Not everyone in Japan is interested in J-pop, obviously.

I think that with the paranormal there are so many different types of experiences one could have. Some experience one, others are common occurrences. While a lot of the time these don't happen or can be passed off as something else, I think there are still real cases. There's a lot of strange ones that are hard to pass off.

I think things like psychics are similar as well. It's either you find one
( with a low chance) that's accurate, or you find something that isn't true.

The paranormal is one of the many things in the world and history that interest me.

IT doesn't have physical proof, yet it's something I feel is possible and we caould lean more about in future.

The supernatural may just be something as of yet unexplained by science that we may one day find the answer to. Maybe not.

I love science, I also love ghosts and aliens and the idea that bigfoot might be wandering around somewhere. It's important to keep a sense of intrigue and wonder about the world.

Do you believe in aliens?

Finished playing Link's Awakening again! \o/

I don't usually rebuy VC games I already own, but this one was worth it.

I wouldn't say I believe in them but I certainly think it's possible they do exist.

Most of the conspiracy theories about aliens visiting earth are bunk, though.

Not necessarily aliens but i'm almost 100% positive that there's life outside Earth. Whether these life forms are extremely sophisticated or aren't intelligent forms of life is the main question.

For us to have not been conquered by aliens I think there's a chance of the later being true.

If by Aliens you mean little green men, probing, Area 51, and stuff then no...

but if you mean life on another planet...then yes...I find it rather hard to believe this is the only rock in the universe to have conceded any sort of life...
Whether or not there is intelligent life is a whole nother story entirely...

----

also I'm not particularly a strong believer in ghosts and paranormal...

I decided to look up the "Blue Ocean" thing. I remembered seeing a page concerning it on TV Tropes, so I went there again.

The TV Tropes page I remembered reading basically said that this one guy predicted the Wii and HATED everything that Nintendo did this generation.

Checking the most recent pages on his blog, he was still very, very negative about Nintendo. . .until just now with the new Zelda game. Now he's very, very cautiously optimistic.

He also said that Nintendo is likely to try to shove a huge volume of games out for the NX, which is what I've been thinking for a while. So no sir, not only your readers will not be surprised by the software flood. It's just that people outside of your readership who consider the idea are apparently in the vast minority. :p

It's still depressing to see pessimism, but at least it's UNIQUE pessimism and Zelda seems to have alleviated it slightly.

I don't believe in Ancient Aliens though. :p

I enjoy supernatural stuff in stories, films, anime and all. In real life, my intrigue is about stuff that exists without a doubt, but are still difficult to explain, like Black holes.

I honestly don't factor whether or not we've been conquered into whether or not intelligent life exists across the stars.

Basically, my reasoning boils down to this: What reason do they have to even DO it?

Or more specifically, a few of the entries in the first folder of this TV Tropes page address a lot of the more common assumed motivations for invasion and why they don't make any sense.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/JustForFun/HowToInvadeAnAlienPlanet

We're not really USEFUL to anything. The most I imagine the average alien doing is studying us from a distance and maybe taking biosamples for cloning purposes once in a while. There really isn't much reason to invade earth outside of a sense of novelty that a space faring race might not even have.

I believe in Aliens. If you actually do some research on the topic it's actually pretty insane how much government coverup there is that's apparently been done. The amount of former astronauts and NASA people that have come out and said there is stuff being hidden. And even looking at officially released government documents can lead you to believe something is up.

I don't know, but for whatever reason, at least one video of his videos used to get on my recommendations and it kept annoying me, especially because his titles were extrememly click-baity.
Yeah, why is that. I get his videos in my recommendation too and I have never clicked on them or any videos of the same nature

Who's Leafyishere? I'm not familiar with most YouTubers.

Also, I'm getting flashbacks about one guy that I won't name unless prompted that is apparently normally decent enough but at one point became the focus of attention on GameFAQs and eventually decided he would just start kicking the darn beehive and acting condescending towards the people that already hated him instead of just acting decent or avoiding the place. And then he complained about GameFAQs sucking on Twitter after he'd already kicked said beehive.

And apparently he had a history of being a troll on GameFAQs, which was part of why they were so hard on him in the first place.

I'll weigh in on Aliens and ghosts.
Aliens: I'm completely certain they exist.
I'm not sure they've visited earth. Or that we have any way to know if they did. I am very suspicious of accounts of alien abductions and such. Those ancient aliens people are full of crap.

Ghosts and the supernatural:
I don't believe in the supernatural conceptually. If ghosts exist, they're a natural phenomenon we don't understand yet.

As for ghosts, I don't believe they exist. I also don't specifically believe they don't exist.
There is no serious evidence that they exist, and they don't explain some phenomenon that we couldn't explain without them. We also have no theoretical basis for how consciousness could exist separate from a living brain.

Ghosts might very well exist. We don't exactly have evidence that suggests they don't exist. But I don't feel it's reasonable to conclude that they do exist, based on what we know.

I finished the Hidden Truths DLC

I found human Anankos rather likable. Sure, he sounds just like Cam Clarke Corrin, but it felt pleasant to hear this side of Anankos after experiencing the one from Revelation. I even felt bad for human Anankos by the second part. Owain/Odin had some really likable moments here, even more than Inigo/Laslow's IMO.

The first map took me two tries, as it mainly came down to RNG luck against Sumeragi. The first time I wasn't lucky, while the second run had a better luck. The second map took me three tries: one with RNG luck going against me against a Dark Knight, and the second try was just a test to see what would happen if you took the non-Dragon's Vein path. Long story short, do the Dragon's Vein path. Those Berserkers are just way too scary to deal with. With the third attempt, I did the full Dragon's Vein route, and it wasn't as bad I thought when I learned about the enemy swarm, particularly because all of your units get super-charged and the one that activated it gets added skills. In my run, it was Laslow, and he got some kills thanks to Astra. I even got some RNG luck against Arete and the Maids and managed to escape before the Kinshi Knights arrived.

As for the story points...

Damn, Lilith acted pretty scary for a villain, especially how she treats human Anankos, but I guess I have that impression because I'm used to seeing her as a kind girl. Human Anankos's death makes her realize that the Dragon Anankos never loved her as a parent, and the human one tries to reach out in the final moments. She learns of her father's son's/daughter's name, and so she decides to travel to Nohr and be with Corrin to make up for it, although she will never reveal that she is Corrin's sister. Yes, turns out Corrin's real little sister is Lilith. Older sister or little sister? We don't know, but I'm leaning towards the latter.

I kind of wish we got to see Anankos without the hood though. There was a moment when he was dying where you could see what was underneath his hood, but it looked like even his hair covers his eyes.

And quite shockingly, human Anankos ends up returning to dragon Anankos. The DLC ends with one scene showing Dragon Anankos talking about how he will destroy humanity and laughs menacingly, and then the credits play. After that, we see Dragon Anankos again, but this time, he speaks in that weird caps-and-lowercase language like Monster Garon did in Conquest, but this time, it's a plea for Corrin, Laslow, Selena, and Odin to defeat him and free him from his madness, ending with the Dragon Anankos gaining composure for a brief second as he says, "I believe in you." It then transitions to a special narration text talking about how you will never learn Anankos is your father and Lilith is your sister during your adventure.

I also find it funny that Odin, Laslow, and Selena were supposed to go to Hoshido originally. Just imagine how different they would've looked like if they adapted to Hoshidan culture! They end up in Nohr only because Corrin turns out to be there. Not only that, but those three knew about Valla before Corrin learned about it first hand. Imagine how the three felt during the Revelation playthrough in the later chapters.

With the first one, I liked how they referenced Robin at the end of it when Human Anankos talked about feeling the presence of a "tactician."

Still a shame that when you get First Blood for your main adventure, it's probably going to be pointless because you've probably already beaten the game at that point and thus you no longer have to worry about Dragon's Vein tiles, especially when the way this DLC is set up is so that you would play it after beating Revelation.

I also beat the Before Awakening DLC.

Dear lord, this map is BRUTAL in the late-game. The main issue here is that Master Ninjas are constantly being sent out at the fortresses (and it is a "Rout the Enemy" mission for that matter), so you pretty much need to play your cards right and make sure you take out two Ninjas at a time while having at least two of your units stand on the fortresses to prevent them from coming out. Also, if you're playing this on Hard or higher, the Master Ninjas have Lunge AND Poison Strike, so it is very easy for one of your units to be swarmed out of nowhere and die.

Oh yeah, if you want to obtain the Hero's Brand and the Exalt's Brand, Chrom, Frederick, and Lissa need to survive the map. If Lissa ends up in the range of the Master Ninjas and at least two of them remain AND can reach her, you might as well just restart.

I started out using myself, Jakob, Kagero, Laslow, and Hana, mainly because I wanted to see the support dialogues. They were pretty sweet and funny. Later on, it turns out the four units weren't doing much to keep the Ninjas at bay, so I ended up using Xander, Hinoka, Takumi, and Oboro. Even using them took a few tries. This is one map where you can't just Dual Guard the whole thing.

For those tackling this DLC in the late-game, here's how I did it.

I had Oboro take out the first Spear Master with a Brave Lance. I then had Xander soften up the nearby Oni Chieftain and have myself finish it off. I paired Hinoka with Xander for the Dual Guard. Takumi used a Spy's Yumi and an Attack Guard with Oboro to take out the other Spear Master in the distance. The Ninjas arrived on the top. I had Takumi stand on one fort, and Xander on the other. Frederick moved in over the bridge, and Oboro tagged along, equipped with the Guard Naginata so that she could tank up hits. Oboro survived the onslaught with minimal damage. The ninjas also moved forward. Takumi one-shotted one of them, while Hinoka took out the other. I made sure to stand on one of the forts around the beginning. From there, it was pretty easy. More ninjas were reinforced at the top, but I moved in my other units to take care of them. Once I cleared them and the Spear Masters nearby (with Frederick's help of course), no more reinforcements arrived. From there, I took out the remaining Spear Master with an Attack Stance Hinoka and Oboro, while Takumi finished off the Oni Chieftain after Chrom and Frederick worked together to weaken it.

This map still felt really nostalgic though, especially with Prelude battle theme playing in the background and the map taking place on Chapter 2 from that game. The very ending to this Xenologue also plays out the first cutscene from Awakening, complete with the voices from there.

And with that, I'm taking the fifth option... drop the sword and Dragonstone and hop into a robot. You know what's coming next...

Has it really been 20 years since Nintendo 64 first launched? Man, time does really fly.

I'd like to ask, what are your fondest memories of the system and its games?

It's definitely been a long while since I last played any games on it, so I can't really name any at the moment. I do know I've enjoyed (and tested) many titles ranging from Super Mario 64 to Mario Kart 64 to Super Smash Bros., to name a few. It was the only fifth-generation system that I owned. Those were some great times.

Titles that I never got to fully experience, or even play for that matter, during my time with the system include both Zelda games, Pilotwings 64, four Rare games (Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, and Conker's Bad Fur Day), Mischief Makers, Paper Mario, Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2 (which is pretty ironic considering I don't even know how to play Pokémon properly in the first place), and a few others. That said, I did play the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time in 2011, and may check Majora's Mask later on. Admittedly, I did check some of the games I listed above by other means, but no worries-- I won't talk about that stuff.

Funnily enough, I didn't deal with any problems when playing Mario Party's infamous analog stick-centric minigames. It's probably just some sort of weird luck, I guess.

My fondest memories would be having Pokemon matches with my family on the first two Stadium games. Nothing like stomping your opponent's best Pokemon with the almighty Slowpoke. :079:

I believe in aliens, maybe not intelligent fully formed ones, but there's defintely a planet out there with some form of live on it. Universe is far too big for us to be alone.

As for ghosts? I've seen some unexplainable stuff in my time on this Earth, so yeah I do.

Oh god, I'm officially the frizzy haired guy from the History Channel.

My fondest memory would have to be selling it for a PS1.

No but in all seriousness, I don't have a lot of fond memories of it.

I sure remember playing Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing a lot, Star Fox as well. Quest 64 is another game I remember playing and not knowing what the hell was I supposed to do in it. Mario Party was something I rented a lot.

I missed out on the "classics" like Banjo, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and even Paper Mario.
