Just some quick thoughts about Mighty no. 9 if anybody's interested...
As a diehard Megaman fan... Mighty no. 9 looks alright from watching people play. Basic gameplay works and seems fun, music and designs are cool, and the actual voice acting is good. The only problem with the dialog is that it's "spammy" for a lack of a better word. Like Cryo and her PEWPEWPEWPEW the entire fight. Japan likes it cheesy and hot-blooded where every attack is called out, but overseas... Things like this are why we have localizations with tons of small changes. Myself I don't think it really hurts the game.
The 3D art style is good, almost like DKCR... In boss rooms and the first screen of most stages. The problem is that the middle of most stages have very basic and bland backgrounds. If that quality could of been consistent the entire game I wouldn't of had any complaints there. (Also there's some weird things like the larger explosions, no mouth flaps and such that could of used some polish.)
The stage and boss designs are nice. Personally I like this level of difficulty, but for most I'm sure would prefer something more forgiving. A game like this needs an easier difficulty with infinite lives nowadays, especially with the bosses. Something around where Shovel Knight is by default where you can tank hits but can't make it by tanking everything. Replay value seems to be there, wouldn't really know unless I got ahold of it.
If this was just some indie it probably would of made it through the development hell relatively unscathed by fans. But it isn't. It claimed to be the second coming of Megaman and fell short. Worth it if you're desperate for something like Megaman but it's definitely not on the level of other Kickstarted games such as Freedom Planet or Shovel Knight, or even self funded games like Gunvolt or Cave Story. It's Mighty no. just fine.
