Dragon Quest 8 is the best game of the series. I'd definitely recommend it as your first Dragon Quest.


How could the best rpg on the ps2 getting an updated port for the 3ds not hype you up? I bought my 3ds when it came out specifically for the possibility of this game being remade for it. I still can't believe I saw this coming years in the past.

Lord help me, the news of Echoes actually got me to start playing Gaiden again. Playing on easy mode for that sweet EXP boost.

That mercenary on the 4th map is such a pain to kill. >.< Luckily I managed to get him in a position where Mage!Cliff coud chuck fireballs at him form a distance. I'm guessing the updated mechanics in Echoes will make him much easier to fight, but some part of me hopes that he's still a challenge in some way.

Nintendo answered some questions from Kotaku, including those that are related to the user interface. You can take a look at it here.

Here's a summary:

• Netflix and other video streaming applications won't be available at launch.
  
• Switch is not backwards compatible with previous systems, something we all know already, but support for other controllers may be considered for a future update.
  
• If no microSDXC card is being used, everything will be stored in internal NAND memory. If there's a microSDXC card inserted, all redownloadable content (like digital games and DLC) will be stored on the microSDXC card. Switch game cards are read-only. This means game save data is stored on the system memory.
• Screenshots taken using the Capture button can be edited (using text of various sizes, colors and positions).
• A new Mii Maker application is found within System Settings, so it's no longer a separate application like on Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. They can be used to represent a user profile, but aren't required. You can set a profile picture from an included library of Nintendo character images (those we've seen already). You can send or receive Mii characters between systems, or use an amiibo figure to transfer Mii characters from the 3DS or Wii U.
  
• Users can access the eShop that corresponds to the country identified in their Nintendo Account.

Honestly, even with those 3 games getting C&D's from Nintendo, Nintendo lost and the internet won.

AM2R was shut down after it was released where it was finished and fully playable. Pokémon Uranium was shut down after release too and a bunch of dedicated fans are still keeping it alive with update patches and a running sever. Nintendo ALMOST won with Pokémon Prism by shutting it down before release until 4chan leakers saved the day.

The only victory Nintendo has gotten was a Super Mario 64 fan remake and that's because it was C&D'ed before anything came out.

I'm just hoping Super Smash Flash 2 & Super Smash Bros. Crusade doesn't do anything stupid to get too much attention.

I'm leaning towards Ninjara myself...

I'd probably go with Spring Man or Ninjara myself. Spring Man looks to be the Ryu archetype for ARMS as a standard and accessible fighter to all players. Ninjara could be my second choice, since he looks to be quick glass-cannon archetype.

PsychoIncarnate - Yeah Titanfall's a neat series - the first one was a bit lacklustre for content, but come Titanfall 2 last year, Respawn stepped up their game quite a bit by adding a full campaign mode with plenty of banter between Jack and BT. Although I did have a temporary rage-quit from the multiplayer a while ago, one can enjoy the single player experience just on its own merit.

Though that was a bit callous of them to say that about the Switch, even if they are drunk. I don't think interviews should be truly taken seriously should the interviewee is slightly intoxicated.

I don't use Netflix but I really hope the WWE Network finds it's way to the Switch considering it's the only streaming app I actively use on consoles...

I have a shiny Xurkitree now, and I didn't think it looked that great from looking it up

But in game it actually looks really good

It looks like the entire thing is glowing

And it doesn't have the clipping problem with the glow effect the regular Xurkitree has - Correction, it does have it but because of the color you can't actually see it

I really should think about actually completing some of these side quests I'm collecting...
should probably backtrack and buy some of the Art upgrades as some Arts I'm using don't seem to be doing the job as well as they could be...but then there's also having enough money....which I get by completing side quests....

I'm glad more games are getting Latino dubs nowadays. The years we had to endure dealing with Castellano are finally paying off.
