Oh, so it's gonna be one of these nights, isn't it?
Welp, at least I have an excuse to skip school tomorrow.
One of these days, you'll have nights where you don't sleep at all and go to school/college just like that, and sleep through the classes.

Like me right now.

I dont think you wanna skip school just because you have a test you didnt study for. thats even worse then not sudying for the test
Nah, that'll just give me more time to study for the test.
Also, lack of sleep is still a valid reason to skip school.
Man I wish I could of used that excuse.

I just didn't go because I didn't want to go, and they graduated me.

Now I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.
I'd do the same if I didn't have a conscience.

It honestly P's me off when cashiers can't be bothered to do simple math...

Comes to 30.10 I give them 40.10 they pull out a calculator and when I tell them to just give me 10 they laugh as if its funny they couldn't figure it out...

Umm...I'm sorry why are you getting paid to do this again?
Personal experience:

I've already counted out your change and you're standing there trying to hand me more change as I'm trying to hand you change, you're the umpteenth customer I've dealt with in the day, there's a line of people behind you complaining about how slow everything has been going, some snob is off to the side asking me to show them where something is despite the fact that I clearly have a line of customers, someone's just walked in and basically tries cutting to the front of the line to return an item (which is going to be a massive pain in the arse later). There are only two people working at the moment and the other bloke is in the back working stock so I would have to run off to get them, I still have a list of things I'm meant to do in between customers but haven't had time to do because of all the customers so I'm going to have to stay longer than I was meant to just to get that done, and at this point I'd much rather chuck the change at your face than try to figure out how many quarters, nickles, dimes or pennies you have and how that will factor out of the $20 or so you've already given me, particularly when so much as a penny under or even over will be marked down by management.

I quit retail over a year ago and that still irked me just thinking about it.

Don't complain about cashiers, people, they're treated like scum for just trying to do their job and barely get payed for it.

You still don't if you're even considering skipping school for something that's your fault in the first place.

I'm not trying to come down on you, but coming here being like, "ahh I'm not going to school lol" isn't something you should post and expect sympathy. Excuses won't work when you're graduated. Don't rely on them.

A generally chiller one where the profs not only don't much care about absences, but fully expected few will achieve perfect attendance. At least past first year. I'm so glad to not be in hs anymore.

Dunno where you're going.

This right here is important to keep note of and an important lesson in general regardless of if you're in high school or college.

Honestly, though, bringing in my own advice for @Pokemon Trainer Lampy, I would never procrastinate on tests and then the day before, be like "oh hey, I guess I should study for the test now". That's never a good idea, and it often leads to unfavorable results. Besides, your general goal in high school is to graduate, and I wouldn't hold off on tests until the very last minute that could determine whether or not you advance to the next grade and one step closer to graduation.

Make a schedule or think of a specific time-frame you will use to study for a test in the future. Having at least 3-4 days beforehand to study is the best way to go about that and will bring the best results.

I literally just said I can't sleep and therefore I won't go to school, which is just as valid as not going to school because you're sick, at least in my school.
It's not like I drop out of school all the time.

Noted.

It's not that I didn't study for the test on purpose - I wasn't home most of the time, and when I came back, it was already really late and I already needed to go to bed.

From my experience, college professors are lax about attendance usually. My attendance rate is around 70% generally.

I still don't think skipping out on the test is a good idea. Unless you're absolutely certain you'll fail.

The thing is, this tells me you should of done some studying a couple days beforehand in order to prepare yourself. Even if you didn't have much time today (or yesterday depending on time-zones), you would be more prepared and confident in taking the test. There is one exception I could see, however, is that when you said you weren't at home most of time, you meant to say that this has happened over the course of the past few days. If that's the case, I could understand.

Not to sound harsh either way, but this would of been the best course of action.

I won't skip out the test, I'll just do it later.
Skipping school would actually help me a bit because I'd have more time to study.

Then I don't know what you were expecting. But you got what you got, and you should take it to heart.

LOL WHAT?? Man I'm jealous as hell, if that's the case!

Seriously though- no. Lack of sleep is not the same as being sick. You pull that **** here, you'd get an F on that test. Same goes for a job and college.
It's not like I drop out of school all the time.
Maybe not, but if your school is that tolerant, I can imagine kids trying to abuse the system. Not saying you do, but...

Look. I'm an adult whos also a ****-up. Seeing kids saying, "ah I ain't going to school" for an excuse like yours just... makes me wonder. Like, are you gonna pull that to your future manager? Tell him you didn't get enough sleep so you can't flip patties or something? He'd fire your ass in a heartbeat.
Good. I hope you see what I'm saying too. There's too many assholes in this world. At least be a smart one. :p

I'm done with this whole arguement.
I really don't know why I even brought it up at the first place.

They are lenient about missing classes (I've seen students get by even when they hardly attend classes), but you really can't afford to miss tests, except for medical reasons.

Something new from the people who brought you the live-action Sonic fan film.
To be honest it's not exactly awful, at least not as bad as the Sonic fan film. Acting felt awkward but I chuckled a few times.

Do have to be honest; I was only offering the best advice I could to Lampy. High School is not fun; many people here can relate to that, especially to those who have completed it (like me). However, getting through it with the best effort possible is very important; it's going to impact your future if you don't finish it.

I wanted to draw a big Christmas picture featuring a bunch of characters I like (mainly Smash characters, probably), but never got around to it because time went too fast.

So I drew this instead so that I may become faster.

Kudos if you recognise the pose.

If it's college or University, you usually can skip class as much as you want so long as you are able to keep up with studies...and still show up for tests and exams...

If its High School, you usually have a required attendance, I actually know some students that failed their class because they were pretty much absent for most of their classes...just skipping school for the sake of skipping school is unwise, you don't want to get in the habit of doing it...especially if there comes a time you NEED to skip class because of a sickness or an emergency...

Really, I just need a break from thread. I post here more than I thought I would (which kinda hurts me irl, mostly because it distracts me from school) and very often I end up embarassing myself - this time it was just too much for me. I'm not as confident as I may look - in fact, I'm crying as I'm typing this.
Sorry for acting like an idiot.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Try not to take any of this stuff too seriously. This thread is clearly full of a bunch of ****ing squares what with their well organized study schedules, and their perfect attendance awards, but I think they all mean well and are just trying to help. You're lucky you can get away with missing class with little repercussions, I couldn't in hs. I think the main thing to take away is it won't last forever. Though college is pretty chill if you still are present for the actual important stuff (tests, labs, due dates, presentations, etc) - which usually aren't overly flexible. When you enter the work force though, it's a dif story. Also, fwiw, excuses eventually run out.

You'll learn all this in time. Try not to let it knock you down!
