Sega, you still owe us Jet Set Radio Future HD.

Just give us that I can forgive you not making a third game for the Nintendo Switch.
Maybe they're holding off to release it in 4K?

I can wait for that. Jet Set Radio Future in glorious 4K resolution. Come on please Sega, I beg of you.

It was an online poll ran nearly four days ago for the Sega Fest event by Sega of Japan. Mostly asking fans what franchises they want the most to be revived, along with stuff like your favorite character and the most invested franchise.

At least Jet Set Radio is the second most wanted revival over there.

I don't know what Sakura Wars is, but I guess being above Jet Set Radio means it's pretty good.

Is Kukui the first professor to be married, visable shown by his ring, in pokemon?
Not just Kukui. As mentioned, Elm is also married, but so is Birch (he's your rival's father and his wife lives at the rival's house). Oak may have been, due to Blue and Daisy existing, though it's unconfirmed. Rowan, Juniper, and Sycamore are all either not married, or their spouses are unknown.

Real Talk: The fact that Streets of Rage (aka Bare Knuckle) is nowhere to be found makes me sad.

Unless Japan feels that the games have concluded just fine and the series won't translate well in 3D. At least NiGHTS got a mention as the 10th most wanted.

I shocked Sycamore out of those three are not married.

Who wouldn't put a ring on that

Call me Zacchaeus because I want to climb all up that Sycamore Tree and see what I can see

...Even if I am a wee little man

It's not like I've expected Billy Hatcher to be popular or anything, but seeing him get no honorable mention on favorite character or a revival is very saddening.

But NiGHTS being lucky is a high relief. I just can't get enough of that dream traveling jester.

So time for a proper update...

Cleared Kiawe's trial and stopped at the next Poke Center...
Colress literally just comes out of nowhere like "Hey look, I'm in this game!"
Dude won't take a break from fiddling with his arm gadget either...lol

Anyway...
Torracat-T'ai Fu
Rocfruff-Skoll
Salandit-Lilith
Trumbeak
Faticate
Mudbray

So many things to talk about where do I even begin?

Well let's start from the beginning...the Professor's introduction at the beginning of the game is a video chat...the way he brings out the pokemon and how his Rockruff is interacting with him instead of both just being stationary sprites, is one thing that shows how far the Pokemon games have come...and it's subtle but I liked how they made it so Kukui doesn't come of as a complete moron when asking your gender and name...'pick your photo' and 'spell out your name'...another one that's come a long way from forgetting their grandson's name...also it's pretty neat that your passport photo changes whenever you change your appearance...

I really like that they added the trainers in the background for the battles...it really brings that sense immersion as it's now an actual battle between the trainers and their pokemon...and it actual gives more purpose to the NPC's since previously you only saw them before and after and at times there was hardly even a difference between a trainer battle and wild battles...which brings me to my next point...
Calling for Help as we see in Totem and wild battles...I'm actually not as bothered by this as much as other folks seem to be...perhaps because I find a way to use it to my advantage as it's actually a good way to grind since it somewhat speeds up the process of finding wild encounters...

The immersiveness of this game so far is great...hearing Pokemon cries in the is not new to the Pokemon games but its still just that little thing that helps bring the world to life...and I love the variety of Pokemon available at the beginning of the game...something that Kalos did well also (like being able to catch three dragons before your second gym!) you're introduced to Alola forms rather early as Rattata, Meowth, and Grimer (as well as Pichu) are all catchable before your first trial while Diglett becomes availbe immediately after completing it...
And while things are still relatively linear as there's a lot of closed paths and such keeping you from getting off track things really open up once you start pushing on...

This game above all others actually gives you more incentive to go out and catch pokemon...first there are NPC's who will ask you to record the data for certain pokemon species and will pay you if you successfully do so...as well as Poke Pelago which allows you to access new features after catching a certain number of pokemon...even though i have my planned team for my first playthrough I can just imagine how many possibilities I have for future playthroughs as I encountered so many pokemon both new and old that I want to use...Sometimes it's hard to progress because I'm just exploring looking for new pokemon to catch and as said there's actual incentive to catch many pokemon this time...

A very small but significant change...Actually being able to add the pokemon you capture to your party right away instead of backtracking back to a pokemon center right away...It seems like such a no-brainer, but this this feature took twenty ****ing years to finally happen beyond catching a handful of legendaries because of the game's plot...this also gives you an opportunity to use many different pokemon as you can simply box one you get bored with if you catch a decent replacement for it...once again this adds to the immersion of the game as it allows you to continue onwards without backpeddling if you find a pokemon you want to use but no room to keep in with you...

Refresh is great feature, and a very good improvement on Amie...first of all being able to heal the status ailments on your pokemon without using up your items and without running back and forth between pokemon centers is phenominal! Gone are teh days of running back and forth from the poke centers while grinding your underlevelled pokemon because it keeps getting poisoned...And with no annoying mini-games I find myself actually wanting to use it more often than I did last gen...

Welp I guess the Aether Foundation is evil afterall...at least that's what the first cutscene greatly alludes to...tbh I kinda wish they didn't show this off right at the beginning as it makes me very wary and suspicious everytime I encounter them in my travels, despite them being very benevolent overall...It seems likely Colress is associated with Aether but I haven't gotten far enough at this point to know more for sure...

As for Team Skull...these guys crack me up...no bones about it :troll:

Structural changes with the trials and Kahunas...Surprisingly it's not really that big of a change, a trial in and of itself is like a Gym puzzle whereas the Totem battle is like the Gym battle...then you have the Kahuna at the end which truly serves as the replacement for Gym Leaders...

My experiences so far with trials and Totem pokes...
Ilima's trial
pretty basic, similar to the puzzles in the first gym in previous games since the player's only just starting out, Team Skull being the usual numbskulls
'You remember us, yo?'
'Who?'
'Oh, I get it you didn't recognize us cuz we switched places'

Totem Gumshoos
not really a big challenge tbh, handled it fairly well

Lana's Trial
well apart from her nagging at me to look at splashing water when I wanted to explore on my brand spanking new ride pokemon:131: there wasn't much too this trial other than defeat Wishiwashi...

Totem Wishiwashi
wasn't really looking forward to this as my two best mons are both weak to water, and I doubt any other pokes would take hits very well either under the rain...so I just yolo'd it and went with my Torracat, and what does Wishiwashi use for it's first move? Soak...well that was nice of it...now to wittle it down until it dies...Torracat didn't really have much other than Lick to paralyze it so it definitely took a while to finally kill it, also doesn't help that both the Totem and the support Wishiwashi kept spamming Growl...

Kiawe's trial
meh...that's pretty much all I had to say though I did double take at the Hiker randomly popping in...so far it was the weakest of the three trials I've done so far...

Totem Salazzle
First time getting a good look at Salandit's evolved form and I have to say...I rather like it...after seeing it in action I have to say that it's pretty sweet and it's cry is disturbingly awesome...Rockruff had no problem taking it out while I'm working on training my own femme fatale...

One complaint I have is...one thing that I was hoping wouldn't be in the game and that's the amount of dialogue at the beginning of the game...though it's not as bad as Kalos people just won't leave you the **** alone at the beginning of the game...
And yet again...any tutorials are unskippable...I get these are in the game for first time players, but the flaw behind this is that people only play these games for the first time once...for successive playthoughs it gets really annoying going through people holding your hand through the beginning of the game...give us the option don't spoon feed us Game Freak...

That said, it's not bad enough for me to not enjoy how the game is panning out so far...I'm only on the second island so far and I'm loving the experience...Its still waay too early to call how much I like it compared to previous gens but so far things are looking really good...

Or maybe the series is just more oriented to Westerners than Japan. At least that explains why Ristar, Billy Hatcher, Golden Axe, and House of the Dead didn't event reach the Top 10.

Well HUH.

Apparently being shot in the face by Solgaleo while shoved inside a Nihilego fixed Lusamine's attitude problem.

I mean she seems to be a bit molecularly unstable now so that might be a problem, but she actually loves her daughter and doesn't have a creepy look on her face now.

Hey @~ Valkyrie ~ I know you also happen to be a Sakura Wars fan.

How do you feel that it's the most wanted Sega revival in Japan?

You haven't had the most fun yet. Not until you do a Multi-kill with a Charge into a pit of death.

My Dartrix's HP is Rock, so I haven't really had to worry about Fire Pokemon so far. I'm right before the fire trial looking if there are Turtinator here

Well that was poetic.

I made a point of catching Solgaleo in a Luxury Ball. I like doing that for Legendaries and Pokemon in general anyway, but in this case the only Luxury Balls I had obtained were the ones Lillie gave me. I caught Lillie's little Nebby in the balls Lillie gave me herself.

And just like that, I've finished the latest episode of Super.

As much as I know they should go back to their time, I really wanted Future Trunks and Mai to stay in the present. Also with the fact that Future Zeno didn't recognize Goku at all, I guess that means there's technically an infinite amount of Universes in Dragonball and not just 12 (originally 16 till Zeno had a tantrum) finite Universes. Some timelines may have more Universes than another, or the same amount but drastically different.

I just reached the second island lol.
All my progress stopped because a mexican driver won a Nascar National Championship and I was jumping and crying in excitement.
But it's time to play again.

Lol saw this comment at one of the Pokefinder spots:

"I wish you'd photo me like that"
lmao. These are ok to do, but the comments are fun so I like that aspect.

. . .Dangit, I looked it up and I flat out missed where the Luxury Balls were available to purchase at. If I had know where they were from the start I would have stocked up long ago. At least I looked it up in time to stock up for when I get unique Pokemon.

At least I was just being dumb instead of them being gone, I need my Luxury Balls.

So I went to YT because I wanted to listen to the Sun/Moon ending theme for the anime so I went and typed "Pokemon sun moon ending" before realizing the horrible horrible mistake I was making.

Gonna talk a bit more about the latest Super episode

It's sorta weird to think that even though they're going back to the future, it's not their future but a version of their future. The future Trunks and Mai come from was destroyed since they pretty much failed stopping Zamasu and need Zeno to erase everything. They only sorta won because they found a loophole, but only sorta.

Also, if the Zeno from Trunk's timeline is now in the present, who runs Trunk's multiverse? Unless Zeno destroyed absolutely everything, including the other 11 universes, there's no one to reign supreme there.

You left out the fact that Jockeys hate me too.
Jockeys are the scourge of the earth. One of us getting ridden right into the unavoidable witch on the stairs, two instantly incapacitated.
I love boomers, though. So fun to pop with a 7.62mm. And explosive M60s to stumble wedding witches.
And wtf was with that RNG, director pls

I'm getting a slight headache from just reading this.

This is why I don't like time travel stories very much because 9/10 they complicate things fast.

How the hell are you people going through the game so fast? I haven't even cleared the second trial yet!

Also, when the hell do I unlock Poké Pelago?

Yeah, it was handled pretty wonky. Couple that with the multiple universes, and you just have a confusing world.

This game keeps getting better!

Current Team:

Azura: Level 25

Toucan Sam: Level 23

Puka: Level 23

Selkie: Level 23

I devoted the next Hau battle at Panuoli Town to leveling up Selkie so that it could catch up with the rest of the team. The battle wasn't too difficult. Hau still has two Pokemon, except this time, his starter Pokemon evolved.

I love the western theme going on in Panuoli Town, though I wish there were more buildings to walk into. The only one you can visit is a house filled with Magmar, one of which gives you a Quick Ball. Around the center of town, a girl riding a Taurus tells you that Taurus can kick up some hidden items, so I tried to use Taurus to do that... little did I know she was referring to her own Taurus and I had to use a different Pokemon to find those items.

Cut to the ranch part of town and I'm introduced to Stoutland, a.k.a. the Itemfinder of this game. Stoutland is alright for a Poke Ride Pokemon. It can move fast, though the sniffing for the hidden items can be annoying at times. Maybe its because I'm used to the generation 6 Item Finder. I guess I'll get used to it eventually.

So Cut to some battling later and I had my first battle with Hau. Wasn't too bad. Selkie actually handled Type: Null pretty well.

Several Team Skull grunts walk in after the battle, and they reveal Gladion isn't really a part of a Team Skull. Hmm, this is interesting.

Now we get to the Water Trial. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Apparently, you get the Scald TM as you descend the hill, and you can the Charge Beam right before you enter Brooklet Hill. Let's just say that TM made Totem Wishiwashi pretty duable. Use a few Charge Beams and heal when Puka's HP was low and it was all good. It also helped that the Totem Wishiwashi used Soak on Puka, so that meant Water Gun wasn't hitting as hard as it normally would. I also got lucky with Totem Wishiwashi summoning a smaller one rather than an Alomomola. That ally Pokemon was taken out by Toucan Sam after Puka landed the kill on Totem Wishiwashi.

So now we get the Waterium Z, and we make our way down Route 6. Those same Skull Grunts from Melemele Island are trying to harm a Drifloon, and a woman named Hapu has come to stop them. Hapu is Mudsdale girl from the trailers, and she's pretty calm and mature. I already followed the story spoilers regarding who she is, so I'm curious to see if she'll appear in Ula Ula Island.

Anyway, the Grunts are dealt with pretty easily, and then I head back to HeaHea City to get a new polo shirt, then it was off to the Battle Royale.

Man, the Masked Royal tried to cover his identity as hard as he could, but it was blatantly obvious that it was still good ol' Professor Kukui: not only does the body frame give it away, but also his dialogue. Gladion was apparently there, and so was Hau, so you can guess who participated in this battle. The battle ended with myself, Gladion, and Mr.TotallyNotKukuiInAWrestlerOutfit surveying it at the end with Hau's Torracat going down pretty quickly thanks to Selkie's newly learned Rock Tomb.

After the battle, we get some great dialogue between Hau and Gladion.

Hau: "Why did you even do the Battle Royale?"

Gladion: "Because Null and I have to make it on our own. And I don't ever want to forget that."

*Gladion leaves*

Hau: "...Wow. you're just a ray of sunshine, eh?"

Aw snap! Hau coming in with one air-horn dropping line. Gladion, you better have a burn heal!"

Hau continues, "I think you'd have a lot more fun if you just let yourself have a good time with everybody else. You can do a lot more together, too."

So Gladion wants to train himself because he wants to make sure his bond with Type: Null deepens, but Hau brings up a good point about the importance of friendship when it comes to becoming stronger. I think this has the potential to be explored further into the game for some interesting plot development.

So there isn't much to do in Route 7, nor are there many trainers in Wela Volcano Park, so Kiawe's Trial comes about very quickly. Welp, time to test my luck against that Totem Salazzle. Good thing Azura has that Waterier Z equipped. I don't think this should be too hard.
