Before you know it, MatPat just release another Theory - this time on Metroid - that was easily debunked in 5 second when you actually pay attention to one little detail that destroy pretty much everything that he had come with.
Ah MatPat, why do you rush out your theory? It's just a waste really...
Tough, it's not as bad as it's Ace Attorney Theory, good lord, that one was just beyond bad...
I wrote a whole paragraph on the previous page debunking his theory because he made several questionable points...as well as missing the most crucial point there was...

Oh and, good job, by the way.

Feels good to be a non-prem again. :001:

Anyway, FFXI is having some kinda special event going on and it'll be free to play for a few days on the following dates.

Friday, November 11, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. (PST) to Monday, November 21 at the same hour.

And they're having a Mog Bonanza right now.

I'm most likely only gonna stick around for the events, but should be fun if any olde FFXI players post in this thread.

MatPat time again?
I'm just going to bring up one thing of his that particularly irritated me nobody brought up.
"Is the Official Timeline of The Legend of Zelda WRONG?!"
Man. This might be interesting. Probably just gonna harp on the crux of Link dying in OoT's journey but also beating the game.

I, honest to god, thought this game was discontinued in favor of FF14.

Nah, it was the console versions that were discontinued. PS2's and 360's servers for certain things were shutting down so they had to shut it down, besides, it's better if a game isn't held back by old hardware.

FFXIV is dropping PS3 support for that same reason, actually!

It's time for the next Pokemon poll!

Now that we've looked at our favorite Gym Leaders and Elite Four members from each member, it's time we move on to the final spot in the Pokemon League...

Who is your favorite Pokemon Champion in the main series?

Answer in the Strawpoll below:

http://www.strawpoll.me/11642256

You can only pick one so choose wisely!

Who did I pick?

This guy!

Steven Stone is easily my favorite champion in the series. Not only does he have an awesome and suave design; he's also a really memorable character. You encounter him pretty often in R/S/E, but he gains a much bigger story presence in the OR/AS. In those games, he's the one that tells you about Mega Evolutions, helps you obtain Latios/Latias, and even gains a pretty big presence during the Delta Episode. Did I mention Steven has a great personality? He is wise and kind, but even he has that relatable attitude towards his parents sometimes (demonstrated with his dialogue with his father in the Delta Episode); his rock-collecting hobby is also pretty fun. Steven is also a total badass, and he can be serious when the situation calls for it (some of Steven's best moments are in the X/Y anime, especially during the Team Flare arc).

Did I mention he has my favorite champion theme and favorite track in the entire series? Seriously, just listen to this masterpiece!

^This track ALWAYS gets me pumped and makes my adrenaline run wild. It's a total shame it hasn't appeared in Smash yet. He also has a memorable team of some tough Steel and Rock-types, and said team becomes tougher to take down in the remakes (as long as you're not using Primal Groudon). Steven Stone has been my favorite champion ever since I've played Ruby, and I have a feeling this won't change any time soon.

I will say that Cynthia was a very close second though for similar reasons: cool design, great story presence, great character, excellent theme song (probably right behind Steven Stone's theme IMO), and a memorable and very challenging team (definitely the hardest Champion team I ever fought). I have a feeling she and Blue/Green will win this poll. We'll see.

Voted Cynthia because she was really challenging and her battle theme is one of my favorites in the series.
I quite like Steven and Lance as well, though.

I think he looked at World 1-1 and Green Hill Act 1 and compared the two for that, he also showed how running across certain sections of cities shows him being slower, the the video forgets the concept of TOP speed
Not to mention he used Modern Sonics canon height of 100 cm (3' 3") which doesn't apply to his much shorter Classic self, the one he used in the video.

..wait what...
No, you know what? I don't want to know about it. At this point, Samus is Sonic Big Sister because how fast Samus can move in speedrunning.
At least we have Gnoggins video which debunks MatPats dumb theory.

That and the fact that we have an official statement from Sonic Colors that normal Sonic is already approaching light speed, and we all know that Official Statements > fan-made theories. Even back in Sonic Adventure's guide he was already described as being hypersonic in speed, which is proof that his top speed increases over time/as he ages, so that made using the first game in the series to judge his top speed even more flawed.

Voted for Red. But Steven was a close second. The rest are okay.

No particularly deep reason. But no one's topping that feeling when you first see yourself from the previous game as the final opponent. Before the internet got to where it is today. The shock from it was awesome.

You already have a creepy smile Garfielf. And you're not far from getting red eyes.

So for the heck of it I decided to count up how many stages you'd have room for if the stage menu was turned into a "Page 1" and Page 2" instead of "Normal" and "Special," with the second page being bumped up to the same number of stages as the first.

As it turns out. . .a whole lot.

You could add every stage that wouldn't be outright redundant from the 3DS version like the optimistic folks have been saying and still have enough room for nine additional ones. And well, if those folks are right about it being "so easy" to port them and not being a pain in the butt to upscale, nine stages is a pretty good realistic number of new stages with how many they pumped out during the DLC era.

Granted, every analysis I do doesn't take into account the possibility that they might do ANOTHER DLC phase, but. . .

I wonder. . .if they did port in stages, would they edit in the ability to swim in the ones that have water, or would they just leave you free-falling in some and able to swim in others? Probably the latter, but Tortimer Island seems like it could use a mechanics change if it was brought over. . .

Anyway, if there's one reason to bring over Ice Climbers other than just being Ice Climbers, it's an ice stage. Dozens of stages across multiple versions of Smash 4 and there is not ONE. And it's easy enough to get sick of one setting or another that lacking a biome is a bit problematic. That and, well, when I tried Brawl briefly, Summit actually felt REALLY interesting. Heck, the "Ice Climber" track actually coordinates with the movement of the stage! And that movement. . .yes I'd like to play that in Smash 4.

Not going to argue with Fountain of Dreams or the "trio" of stages people want in order to shake up franchise-biome coordination, though. And a Splatoon stage seems extremely likely no matter what happens, it's just a matter of what they go with.

I also have a bit of a theory regarding Cynthia's team in the pokemon games...how they represent various aspects of her character...
Garchomp-Strength
Milotic-Beauty
Lucario-Sense/Intelligence
Roserade-Class
Spiritomb-Mystery
Togekiss-Kindness

She also used Gastrodon and Eelektross in the games

Green, and it's not even close.

While other future champions have done better than him in both being involved in the story and as a challenge, none of the other champion battles feel as personal as his, which I feel adds to the atmosphere a lot.

It was the perfect way to close off your journey. The guy who, not only is your childhood friend, but also is your long time rival, finally get to meet at the biggest stage of them all. While you're both at your best.

It helps that he's actually a challenge too, speaking strictly in terms of Gen 1. Forget how broken it is, that didn't matter when you were 7 or 8 years old and you could only think "how the **** do I get through this Alakazam."

After him I'd have to go with either Cynthia or Steven. I don't particularly care for either's character or involvement in the story, but I enjoyed their battles a lot. The rest of the Champions have been ok to meh (Lance, Alder and Diantha were honestly boring, Iris was alright, I have no idea what they were thinking with making Wallace champion and I don't count Red as champion but just as a separate final challenge).
