Green/Blue/Gary Oak replaces Giovanni as the 8th gym leader in Kanto once Giovanni leaves during the events of RBY. Oak becomes the GL during the events of GSC. This can be seen when you play through the Kanto circuit in the Gen 2 games.I dont think green was ever a gym leader
The one I'm using is called XKCD substitutions.I need that. Can't wait to turn a certain term into something funny
Interesting. Now if only I can get my hands on one since I'm kind of annoyed of seeing anything involving ****ing Harambe or Doge all over YouTube. Not really this site, but any site.
I'm using a word filter extension for Chrome.
Kanto: MistyMan, I've been lazy with the Pokemon polls lately, especially with Sun and Moon's release getting closer with each day.
That said, it's time for the next the Pokemon poll... actually, I'll just make this a question for today. Why? Because there are so many characters that fit the topic that the poll would have quite the huge list.
Who is your favorite Gym Leader from each region?
Mine would be:
Kanto: Sabrina
Johto: Tie between Morty and Jasmine
Hoenn: Norman
Sinnoh: Roark
Unova: Tie between Cilan/Chili/Cress (all grouped into one because I liked their gimmick) and Drayden
Kalos: Tie b/w Korrina and Clemont (liked him in the anime, and he was surprisingly a decent challenge)
Also, who is your favorite Gym Leader overall?
I'm going with Roark. Yes, he's just another Rock-type Gym Leader, but I like his design. He also had some interesting development in the anime, and you can't go wrong with having a Ramparts as his ace Pokemon (I know its just a Cranidos in the games, but in the anime and the post-game, it evolves into its evolution).
I'm going to echo the Gen 2 statement because I played Soulsilver. . .Which is Gen 4 but is also a Gen 2 remake so same difference.I dont think green was ever a gym leader
Ooooohhhhhhh they meant BLUE.I'm going to echo the Gen 2 statement because I played Soulsilver. . .Which is Gen 4 but is also a Gen 2 remake so same difference.
To add more to that since everyone else is saying it too, he's the only Gym Leader in the series that doesn't have a dedicated type. He just uses his normal team without a starter.
But...But thats BlueHe was in Gen 2. He replaced Giovanni as the final gym leader.
That's uhhh well . . .i suppose that's a reason. . .Because she's the only one that got a card with her naked printed on it, and I own it
Like I said Green/Blue same difference. I'm used to calling him Green, since that was his original name.But...But thats Blue
LOL, I'm just joking.That's uhhh well . . .i suppose that's a reason. . .

It's quite the debate...for a while I wasn't sure whether to call him "Blue" or "Green"...so I went with the middle ground: Gary, because of his anime counterpart lol. It's not caught up in the "Blue vs. Green" debate, which helps avoid confusion for me personally.Like I said Green/Blue same difference. I'm used to calling him Green, since that was his original name.
I just call him what he was given in the US, Blue and sometimes Gary if that slips pffIt's quite the debate...for a while I wasn't sure whether to call him "Blue" or "Green"...so I went with the middle ground: Gary, because of his anime counterpart lol. But he's always been Blue.Like I said Green/Blue same difference. I'm used to calling him Green, since that was his original name.
It's. . .kind of confusing, I admit, which is why I answered the way I did.But...But thats Blue
Green is the other name for Blue/Gary. It's just that in English HG/SS, he was called Blue while in JP HG/SS and in Sun and Moon, he's called Green.I dont think green was ever a gym leader
He's also been Green, but for longer. But he's always been Blue.
Have a good night. Sleep well.Well goodnight guys I am super tired and **** yo
Why dont they just keep him as "blue"?Green is the other name for Blue/Gary. It's just that in English HG/SS, he was called Blue while in JP HG/SS and in Sun and Moon, he's called Green.
This is true, but nobody calls Mario Jumpman anymore either. He's also been Green, but for longer.![]()

Blue, green, it doesnt really matter.
His real name is buttface or some other dirty word and we all know it.

He's usually Blue, but I think the Pokemon Adventures manga had him as Green and the girl as Blue or something because I vaguely remember being really confused reading that.
But he's always been Blue.

Let's just all call him Gary.But...But thats Blue
True, but that's because Jumpman wasn't really a name to begin with. This is true, but nobody calls Mario Jumpman anymore either.
yeah hes Gary, **** itLet's just all call him Gary.
I don't care about different universes or canons, he's Gary because it's easier to remember and canon is irrelevant because we give names to our characters anyway
Welcome to the smaller third party! I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone lol.Let's just all call him Gary.
I don't care about different universes or canons, he's Gary because it's easier to remember and canon is irrelevant because we give names to our characters anyway
Neither is Green. At least it's not a given nameTrue, but that's because Jumpman wasn't really a name to begin with.![]()
I think US Sun and Moon calls him Blue still. Though I might be mistaken. Why dont they just keep him as "blue"?

Most main characters in Pokemon don't have given, normal names. Like, I've never met another person named Moon or Sun.Neither is Green. At least it's not a given name
Ah, but Blue does have both a family and given nameMost main characters in Pokemon don't have given, normal names. Like, I've never met another person named Moon or Sun.
"This is my son X"Most main characters in Pokemon don't have given, normal names. Like, I've never met another person named Moon or Sun.
Actually it was. It was his name in the Donkey Kong arcade game and later changed to Mario. He was also going to be named Mr. Video as well.True, but that's because Jumpman wasn't really a name to begin with.![]()
Sun-Wukong?Most main characters in Pokemon don't have given, normal names. Like, I've never met another person named Moon or Sun.
