I understand how people are concerned about how Star Fox will turn out, but knowing how Miyamoto is developing it, I wouldn't be too worried. After making it big as the developer behind Mario and Zelda, I admit that he's made some questionable choices after the fact, but gameplay was never an issue.
He seems to find ways to at least try to be both original and fun with the technology while leaving additional options for those loyal fans who want a more traditional experience. Pikmin 3 is a good example of that, as another title developed by Miyamoto. If that does not ease your concerns, you should remember how Star Fox 64 3D had motion-based controls but also allowed one to play the game in the original 3rd-person perspective that required button-pushing instead. Everything will be fine.

They are not not gimmicks, I really don't care if you do not like them, the think that bothers me is that you are calling them gimmicks, I don't want take this any farther, but the reason why the Wii U flop in the release are many others, mostly stupid marketing decisions. They are only four or three games that require the Gamepad from all the the games coming next year, so if you don't like perfect i don't care, but do not share your hate for the Gamepad by calling it a ''Gimmick'' because is not, is just that how like you said you hate it. I don't know, he seems very adamant about pushing the Gamepad these day, probably under a lot of pressure from investors.

He's also the guy who forced Fox into Dinosaur Planet and asked Intelligent Systems to remove the story out of Paper Mario Sticker Stars. He's also the guy Nintendo employees went behind his back to add story elements to Ocarina of time. He's sadly well past his prime.

Excited to see what Miyamoto does with Starfox, game will likely turn out Amazing (hopefully). I don't mind the new control scheme, as long as they make it work. I really hope the voice acting is good, 64 3D's was pretty good, so I wouldn't mind if they kept that voice cast.

I agree. As I have said, he has made questionable decisions in the past. But none of the mistakes me made above resulted in poor gameplay. I enjoyed Star Fox Adventures for what it was, even though it wasn't a proper Star Fox title in any sense. And while Paper Mario: Sticker Star lacked story, it was still fun to play. It's gameplay was much closer to traditional Paper Mario. Would I have preferred a more engaging story? Absolutely, but it was still fun for me to play. Besides, Miyamoto did not directly produce those titles.

As for Star Fox, I anticipate gameplay being perfectly fine and probably the game's best quality. I imagine that the story will be fun, but more simplistic than past titles.

Which is a problem. Nintendo needs to realize that the market has shifted to older gamers who like a good narrative as well as good gameplay. Furthermore, if it has motion controls, he will greatly limit his user base. You would be surprised with how many people, like me, absolutely dislike it. I play games to relax, not to wail around.

Mr. Miyamoto was also asked when a new F-Zero game would be made, to which he replied that he needed to find the right controller interface to do so.
Translation: never. :(

I'm not a fan of motion-controls either, but with that in mind I believe Miyamoto will allow a traditional 3rd-person perspective button-based control setup. After all, why make this title a Star Fox game if you didn't expect Star Fox fans - who are use to the older control scheme - to be drawn to it? Why would one alienate them with having only on control-scheme available?
I sincerely do hope that Nintendo will feel more inclined to create good narratives in the future too. I even appreciated the subtle presence of story in Super Mario Galaxy. It's a shame that they haven't expanded upon what they can do with story, as I feel A Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D World, and Pokémon X & Y did not have the most interesting stories, almost as if they were afterthoughts. However, they were still fun to play.

Almost 2,000 Brazilian Bucks for a Wii U.
Socialism at work.
I don't approve of the crony capitalism here though, it's essentially the same thing. Come together and clean out the corruption in government.

Hope things shape up for Brazil, such a beautiful country needs beautiful video games, haha.

I really hope we can opt out of that motion control i see him doing. Remember how starfox command went..

We should have the option to use Buttons/sticks only...(even better, gamecube controller..Starfox assault netplay has been growing on me)
