Apparently they don't allow it meaning it's illegal so they go banning people from miiverse who talk about it. It literally makes no sense to do that. They have never stated it but apparently they did. They allow action replay which also mods games and cheats which if they were playing online with others it would be un-fair. And with the right precedure action replay can also play roms.

Old news but yeah, such an immature passive agressive way of going about things.

Read this from another thread:

I just did a little reading and discussing the legal implications with the big N and PM and here's what I gathered. There's a US law that basically forces a company to press charges if they find someone tampering with their property. Seems asinine, but the reason is that a company doesn't say "we love what you're doing, press on!" then a year later sues them. a.k.a entrapment. That's why Miiverse posts are deleted and an employee should never go on record and acknowledge PM.
Nintendo staying 'in the dark' is GOOD for us.

Just keep on provoking, err, presenting PM to Nintendo... and keep asking them about PM.. each and every person at Nintendo... keep reminding them about it. Do it enough and I'm sure that a very *special* Nintendo-PM event will be happening...! Doesn't that sound *fun*? Of course it does! Now get to it...

Seriously guys don't rock the boat with this. Leave nintendo alone about PM and they'll leave us alone. They didn't shut down the Mother 3 fan translation, so I doubt they'd shut down PM which although popular the user base is much less than the consumer base so I don't think they're worried about loosing sales

They wouldn't. Project m requires a LEGALLY owned disc of brawl.

no it doesnt...

besides, it's modification of intellectual property that is being broken, not piracy necessarily
Action replay mods games too and that is allowed.
And it actually does require a brawl disc.

They're not profiting off it. Gray area, and no real jurisdiction.

No profit? No reason to get on the case.

For our own good?
The same thing has been said about the NSA.

Read my first post in this thread.

AR isnt a modification of a game. It's not distributing IP.

and no, it doesn't
It does. The hackless and Homebrew one do.
AR does mod games to add cheats.

Put simply, Action Replay is a legal product being sold by Datel. They somehow acquired the correct rights to sell this product, although it is not endorsed by any company and will void your warranty if somehow you are caught with it. The PMBR does not have those legal rights.

You're discussing a moot point, buddy. PM will always be banned on Miiverse for legal reasons. As I posted before, once they acknowledge PM, they are forced to take legal actions by US law. Then the project gets shut down. I would recommend you drop this entirely and if you wish to discuss PM, do it here.

It's very possible to play project m through a pirated copy of the game. You can even play it on the dolphin emulator, there's even netplay mods if you do that.

That being said Project M has nothing to do pirating Brawl, it's compatible but there isn't anything they can do about that.

OMG kid. Listen.

I live in PAL world.
My legal PAL disc cannot run Project M, because there is no PAL version of PM.
YET I STILL PLAY IT.

at NO POINT did the disc ever need to be in my system for me to play it.

next point:

AR does mod games. - Correct.
however IT IS NOT A MODIFICATION OF A GAME CONTAINING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BELONGING TO NINTENDO.

See the difference?

Its like PM is a fake flat peak hat with some sports teams logo on it.
and Action replay is a embroidery machine and thread.

Hackless version can't work on a pirated copy. Still either way mods can be on roms too. AR cheats and gameshark cheats. LOL. As I recall cheats for like pokemon can be place on games to get pokemon from the game in an UNOFFICIAL way.

Correct, hackless cant be run without a disc.
You said that a brawl disc is needed...which, it isn't. if you use homebrew you don't need a legit brawl disc. or even a disc at all.
Thanks for understanding finally.

As per AR/Cheat devices.

you still don't get the bit where AR is a TOOL to mod.
It doesn't contain intellectual property owned by Nintendo.

Do you understand the difference between a Hammer, and a Spice rack?
The difference between an Iron and Shirt with wrinkles?
A Pencil and a drawing?

Or perhaps the difference between a Shovel and THE HOLE YOU'RE DIGGING.

And what about r4. Although not approved but still legal. If they want to prevent piracy then they wouldn't allow DStwo or r4 to be legal because they play actual copies of the 3ds games and roms without pay.
