Top pick means everything. The top pick gets more money then anyone else, and that sort of investment forces a team's hand. The Rams HAVE to start Bradford and pay him a ton of money. If they had traded the pick and picked up Clausen or McCoy in later rounds, they could develop the quarterback, lessen the pressure on both the player and the organization, and save some $$$. I'm not disagreeing with the pick, just merely pointing out that the top pick is a huge deal. Just ask the Raiders what Jamarcus Russell has done to them.
Btw, I'm a huge dolphins fan and I loved their draft. Getting Odrick was a smart pick. At this point it looks like they're just stockpiling young players and creating competition. In the coming years (and even this year) I expect the phins to be a serious threat in the AFC.
