Next Month EGM - Cover Story!

Yesterday I received my newest issue of EGM magazine. I thumbed to the back of the magazine to see next month's feature. Sure enough, next month will feature a Brawl cover story. I'm aware that this is not real news, and that it most likely won't reveal anything new. That is the reason that I didn't post it last night.

Now I listen to a podcast called All Games Interactive (AGI). AGI is a daily live radio show about videogames and features a live chat room for the 2 hour daily show. Today, EGM editor Dan "Shoe" Hsu was being interviewed, and one of the chatters asked him about SSBB. He said that it's very similar to Melee, but he hasn't really played it too much. He then made mention of the cover issue. According to him, it will be in-depth about the features of Brawl, a look at the fan base and competitive scene, and will also have 16 Different Covers!!! Each cover will feature a different character.

Although this probably won't reveal anything new, I think it will be a very cool feature and a much bulkier article than most of the information we get from magazines (EGM cover stories are generally about 10 pages long.) Also the prospect of 16 different covers is very cool and a great idea.

Alright, just wanted to hear your thoughts. The interview with Hsu can be downloaded at www.allgames.com (just download the 12/12/07 edition of the All Games Interactive Podcast, episode #420. It can also be found on iTunes.)

This is good news. Yeah, the reviews are going to start popping up in January for sure(I expect no less than a perfect 10, I mean this game has -everything-). That's why I think they can't keep the roster a secret for much longer...I mean, at worst, EGM is going to tell us that there are X amount of characters, etc.

Sadly Nintendo Power and a couple others already did their Brawl issues. I really wish they had waited. But I figure most of them will do a second Brawl story with lots of reviews and such after release. Not just a page but probably a full near-10 page article, even if it's not the cover.

Protip: your local library (most likely) has this, if you don't actually want to pay for it. Like me. <<;

WOW This sounds great to me...if there will be 16 boxarts then I assume they would have one for each starting character, which to me would seem like there will be 16 starters...SWEET!!

mutliple covers are cool, but im still only picking one up. When EGM's Halo 3 issue came out, I went to two stores because I wanted the Master Chief cover. I held on to that issue btw.

This time i'll probably grab either the Mario or Sonic covers, assuming they will both get covers.

It's great that Brawl's going to be featured, but I doubt any new information will be revealed. If anything's new, we'd probably know via the Dojo or other reliable sources.

16 covers, eh? 1 for each newcomer confirmed=11. 1 for Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, and some other vet. Or maybe just 11 for the newcomers+3 for the PT's Pokémon+Mario and Link/Donkey Kong. That'd be sweet. :) Anyways, if I see it and it looks sick, I'll grab it for sure! :psycho:

Pimp Kong...or Diddy Kong as we know him would be MY COVER OF CHOICE! :grin:

he really doesn't. Trust me.
I used to work for one of those companies (I left because I felt like the scum of the universe.)
The company I worked for was Guerilla Pr.
They still owe me 30 bucks.
