I was thinking, Toon Link is cosidered a newcomer, even though he's a port from Young Link, because he's a different character (kinda) from a different Zelda game. Well, hasn't the standard Link in the previous games been the Ocarina Of Time Link? And the Brawl Link is the Twilight Princess Link. Does'nt that kinda make him a newcomer? I don't know, I think it really depends on one's personal opinion.

I like to think of a back story between Link and TP Link being in brawl, but that's just me. The Link from Ocarina of Time had stronger weapons but not so much effective sword techniques. While TP Link has very effective sword techniques and not so strong weapons. Strange how it works out. I like to think that OoT Link had stonger magic mainly because of how powerful his Spin Attack was influenced by it. TP Link however is physically stronger than the other, but with less powerful magic behind his attacks. So, to get back on topic. Yes, TP link is a newcomer in my eyes.

He's not a newcomer to me because he's Link ad he's been in every Smash Bros. game.

Yeah, he is kind of like a new comer. I think. But since he has the same name as the old Links. I guess they don't count him as one.
