Everyone knows the wall jump.
But do you think you should be able to do attacks off a wall jump,or attacks spesific to a wall jump,or your b moves off a wall jump,or anthing else?

I think it would be cool since we now have crawling.

Maybe like a wall crawl? or if you get hit into a wall hard enough, you like stick to it?

... no. That would be dumb and eliminate wall techs.
True, but what if this happened only if you DID wall tech. It would be a cool element to be able to climb walls, possibly using the same control scheme for crawling. Anyways, interesting idea, I like it.

Crawling up walls? I personally think its a stupid idea, but that's my opinion. If you don't like my opinion...sue me.

i think the wall-tech-attacks sounds cool though. someone knocks you into a wall, you tech, and jump into a spin kick off the wall or something. awesomenss.
That could be nice, actually, tech recovery attacks. We have recovery attacks when you dont tech and are just lying there, how about being able to do a new kind of attack right out of a ground / wall tech?

Maybe like some characters can only wall stick. This could add strategy to some characters.
Maybe you could do it in a way so it won't do it, like pressing the B button before hitting a wall.

Those are my ideas. If you don't agree with me, go argue about it elsewhere. I won't respond to you.

Here are a couple of guys I can think of for this trick.

Actually, debating can actually be a fun part of Smashboards, however, I kinda do agree.

However, I currently cannot think of any wall sticking characters, so that's kinda out, who knows what will be in the game. Also, B is for the special, so their special would HAVE to be that stick.

Oh, tech recovery attacks do sound awesome. Maybe they can also be done out of a walljump, to add at least some more importance to wall jumping characters.

Incredible. You're the definition of closed minded.

I think if megaman was in brawl he should be able to slide down walls, aside from that this spiderman wall sticking idea is garbage, as it eliminates the need to wall tech. Hell if you get spiked close enough to the stage and your ''spiderman'' idea was implemented I suppose it could even work like a wall tech, except youd stick to the side of the stage, garunteeing your recovery.

Well, if you were to press no buttons at all, (LIKE I STATED IN MY POST BEFORE) you would just wall jump. This would not eliminate wall teching at all. It would enhance it, giving you a choice. You could even fake out your opponent with this trick. They won't know if you are to stick to the wall or not.

I stated I'm not gonna reply because I'm not in the mood for some stupid argument about something so little.

And thats why my wall sliding idea is more practical.
Naturally not everyone will be able to do it. (imagine Jiggs sliding down the side of Four Side...no thanx).

Those that can already wall jump will be able to wall slide. A few other non-wall jump characters should wall slide too. Say Link, Pikachu, ZSS*, Snake*, and some other obvious choices.
Of course while wall sliding, you wont be able to sheild or attack. Only use you second jump (if you havent already) or fall down on your own terms. It's mostly used to position youself better when comming down.

*this is assuming neither of them can't already wall jump

Hmm, Mario can wall slide in Super Mario Sunshine. If wall sliding was done, Mario could also do it then [also, he can walljump as well].

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'll have to agree with Dylan_Tnga. I for one don't like Sheik, so If I'm able to smash sheik out of the arena and she always comes back because she can stick on walls, man that would be so gay.

Another thing that would be interesting (it would change the balance, but possibly in a good way) if the usefulness of their tech was based off of their animation.

What i'm saying is, everyone can still tech for the reasons they always have, but some would be clearly not as laggy. Why? Go play the game and watch Mario tech, and then Mewtwo tech. Mario if I remember correctly, simply uses his hands to tech. Metwo however, uses his mind to flip himself over (never actually touching the wall/ground/cieling, which is just sick).

Imagine for this reason Mewtwo's tech was smoother and the least laggy? If not anything else, it might move him up a tier lol ^_^

I'm not saying it couldn't ruin the balance, but it'd be a nice simple way of fixing it too. Its all luck on our part who gets what special abilities in any case.

First, ask the question on how many stages with wall will there be... I haven't seen any in the trailers, so my guess is that they will not do to grandly on walls... If there isn't a half amount of stages with walls, why even have a wall attack if there is only so few of them... A waste of scripting and animation work if you ask me...

Tech attacks would be interesting and can be seen as possible... Could add a bit of new heights to mind games... Though, not quite sure how everybody's tech attack would look like... All I could imagine is Snake doing a roll back and tackle roll counter...

Can't you just do any attack as it is directly after you tech already atm? I think it would be cooler to have some of the stuff other people suggested, like being able to tech then cling to the wall and slide down then jump similar to megman, You can jump off a tech as it is now anyways just letting you slide before you jump wouldn't imbalance the game that much really IMO it would just be a cool new addition.

Hmm, but be careful about ledge stalling with that. If you could slide down it might leave room for characters being able to jump on a wall somewhere out of the way (like down below a level) slide down a bit, jump back up and waste a lot of time. I wonder if that'd be a problem. I like the Megamanesque sliding idea though!

Yeah! Except only Megaman and Zero could do it! Great idea :) (If theyre in the game, and I really hope they are Im such a huge MMX fan you have nooo idea)
Other than Megaman and Zero, Mario also does this on Super Mario Sunshine. Is this a good omen for Megaman? Heck yes!

Shoot! Superstar beat me too it!! I'm late......so late.

Wouldn't it be funny (& probably very broken) if Megaman/Zero made it into the game and you could scale a single wall with their walljumps like you can in Megaman Zero for GBA?
