What is the real difference between the two and which one, if you are Xian, do you follow? For atheists such as myself take this time as an opportunity to understand their side, and then we can have an open debate on the 2 main parts of the Bible and the non-biblical side.

Heaven someday. Do you want to come to? its as eas
Old Test. is the prophecies of the Messiah, laws of God and end time prohecies. New Testament is the Fullfillment of those prophecies, the teachings of Jesus Christ and a more end time prophecies (Revelations for Example).

Ok lets see how many athiests respond to this thinking they know the bible inside and out.

They're two completely different things.

The Old Testament is abuot God and the Israelites before Jesus came.

The New Testament is about Jesus fulfilling the promises of a Messiah.

That's basically it, most people will choose to follow both since it's two different time periods, and its all the same story.

The New Testament and the Old Testament are practically the same except it's just that the New Testament was written after Jesus' birth. Also the Old Testemant tells prophecies of things in the New Testamant and prophecises a bit about the future(about towers falling etc.). The New Testament is the same xcept talks more about Jesus, and prophesises about the future.
Gigyas, some people who only worship the Old Testament call themselves Christians but they aren't cause they don't believe in Christ(such as Pharisees and Saul[the one who got his name changed to Paul]).

You guys, I think I'm addicted to the debate forum.I feel this weird urge to come here every single day! I think I'm going nuts! Ahh! Anyway, I don't really follow either testament- they just don't appeal to me. All these homophobic jerks claim being gay is wrong because it's in the bible- well, the bible also supports slavery (that's in Leviticus, the same chapter as the gay thing), and tells you that you can'tt eat certain foods like lobster and ham. And by the way, what is all this sh*t about the prophecies about Jerusalem coming true? Hello, there's been fighting going on in the "holy land" for the past 1000 years, ever since the crusades! The palestenians are not ALL evil, and don't forget the jewish terrorists in the 1940s, like the zionists who blew up the King David Hotel- everyone over there didn't get enough hugs in their childhood. As 4 the new test., jesus was an all-around great guy, with MOSTLY good philosophies (the thing about only christians getting into heaven i disagree with) but i honestly don't know if he was the real deal. Over the past 3 years i've gone from devout catholic to liberal christian, to what i am now (a semi-aetheist 'spiritual seeker'). I'm sick of people quoting the bible trying to convince everyone else that they are wrong. In 2000 years christianity will either have been obliterated as a religion, or it will have changed a great deal. So really, i don't believe a lot of the bible, i'm not even sure if i'm a theist- i guess only tie will tell.

p.s. all you smash world guys, take a little break! Get outside, go see a movie, take a vacation. Gideon, I want you to relax for a week- get some1 else to take your place. I'm kinda sick of the forums, so this will be my last post 4 awhile, but i will check the debate room to see if anybody addressed my post- if i get dissed, i'll come back and diss the disser.

Also, watch what "christians" ou quote from. some people quote has chirstians just to give us a bad name. Use a little common sense.

Anyway, of course we cfollow both. The reason the Jews don't follow the New Testament is because they don't believe the Messiah ever came yet. Some Jews do believe in both, however.

So theres no real debate over which is better or which one follows, so I say this topic should probably be closed...

I don't want to be rude or anything, but that is a very basic concept of the Bible.

And as for the topic- Some laws in the Old Testament are out dated because of things that are said in the New. For instance: God tells us not to eat pork in the Old Testament. However, in the New Testament, Jesus says somewhere that it doesn't matter what you eat. This is not a contradiction, but it is only that the two things "cancel out" so to speak.
