PM is still livin'. So long as there are players it'll stay alive. A lot of big tournaments have dropped it, but there are still plenty, like Xanadu, that still host. PM 3.6 looks hype as hell.
Maryland has one of largest PM populations if I remember right, mostly because of Xanadu. I'm not sure how many live in the area, but a couple of the devs hang out there sometimes which helps. I saw JCaesar when I visited. As long as there's a good group that can keep the hype going PM should be fine for a while.

you dont know what a hack is, do you

its a mod. so was dota, counterstrike, and team fortress. they still had huge competitive communities even tho they "were not le real game xd"
Yes they were mods, but they became games because they rought something NEW and DIFFERENT to the table, unlike PM which just brought exploitable physics.

I think Project M will eventually return in a proper manner once Smash 4 has been around for awhile (2-3 years). That said, there is still the matter of fact that Nintendo would have to acknowledge the changes made from Brawl to Project M.

Things such as implemented wavedashing and airdodge momentum would not be a factor that Nintendo would be focusing on but rather the changes to characters such as Sonic, Lucas, and of course, Snake. These three characters are just a few but the most prominent when it comes to changes when it comes to movesets, especially with Snake's PM exclusive smoking taunt. Only time will the fate for Project M and its community, but I do believe that Project M will make its comeback once all of this controversy simmers down.

^ Shadow has it right. Each game has different experiences and different metas,

By that logic, Melee isn't a smash game, or shouldn't be played anymore because of the advanced tech. The advanced tech is one of the reasons the game has such a cult following.

I always mention how Bowser in PM is radically different from every other bowser because of the added mechanics (super armor, bowser bomb jump) and the added dmg and knockback from Melee's incarnation.

You can't fight Zero suits in Melee, and you can't use PM bowser in Smash 4. Unique games are unique.

PM Will never die! I enjoy this game than any other smash game, Hopefully there can be some way that PM can be like how it was before.

I mean it's the same for ganon! Float mix ups, a skillful reflect, you can even use his cape to jab reset, something he didn't previously have. Combine Melee ganon with a dacus and suicide side+B's and you have yourself a dangerous character that's fun and intuitive.

So people wouldn't be frustrated when online is filled with "cheaters" like with MKDS? I don't think so.

That's not the point. Losing to somebody better then you is a completely different thing from losing to somebody who "cheated." Which is why everybody hated MKDS.
Really? Then how come Smash 4's forums are filled with people crying about characters needing buffs/nerfs, even though there are no advanced techs, ie 'cheating', involved?

People will cry about anything if they don't win, because it's easier than admitting they're not as good as the person who beat them. In Melee, they cry about 'wave-cheating'. In Brawl, they cry about tripping and MK. In Smash 4, they cry about whatever's popular at the time. Be it Little Mac, Diddy, or whoever else people feel is unjustly beating them, they'll cry.

There's no difference. Even if the game was perfectly balanced, people would assume it wasn't when they lose to better players and make a big stink about it.

If your goal is to avoid frustration in online gaming, good luck. I can't think of a single online, competitive game that didn't have a smattering of whiny, entitled fans lobbying for whatever it is they thought they deserved.
