New Smash Bros = New Main?

Does anyone else find themselves using a different main in each smash bros. game?

For example I myself went through a lot of phases...
SSB64: I used as my main, but shifted to , then back to

Melee: Started with , but switched to , then , then , and back to .

Brawl: , switched to , then to , then , and back to .

I hope I'm not the only one who's done this.

I see you are a Kirby fan. I know Kirby has had his share of move revamps and replacements, but over all I'd say he is the same. I guess I kind of feel comfortable using a character that is both quick and powerful.

Depends really.

In 64 I main Yoshi.

In Melee I was maining Ganondorf, but have switched to Peach as a main.

In Brawl I was maining Olimar but have switched to Falco.

Don't see myself changing mains again in those games.

As for new Smash, it is possible. Depends on if a new character gets a playstyle I like or a old character gets a revamped playstyle. Or I might end up going back to Yoshi, Peach, or Falco. Won't know till I get a chance to try out all the characters in the game.

Not really, I play around with the new characters, but I've always stuck with Kirby/Marth. Although if a fan favorite of mine like Chrom or Bowser Jr. got in Smash Wii U, then I'll main them too.

Yes I am. But To be clear I learn 12 characters each time a new smash comes out. As for kirby It's just character loyalty, he's been my #1 since 64, even tho he sucked at melee I still suck by the character, but his PM version shall redeem that soon enough.

Anyway your not the only one who does this, I usually pick the rest of the characters I learn by the franchises I play the most, or I choose those that are quick and have combo potential. (don't really care if they have knockback, I just need a speedy character)

Mario, Fox, and Ness have been my core characters since the original but I like to play as everyone. I have always been in the "Best Kid on the Playground" scenario because I've either been too busy, too poor, or too far away to go to any major tournaments to be motivated to seriously invest in any particular character.

I do that thank you very much, but that soon becomes predictable and in higher levels of play you will get roped if you try to be cute with those bairs.

His grabs never work, his dash attack leaves him wide open, his nair isn't feared anymore, and most of his attacks are stripped of priority if there's a clash.
There's a reason why he's the bottom tier and pichu rose above him, at least pichu has a better nair.

Been playing kirby all my smash life, I think I would know the character inside and out. In 64 he's a beast because of that hitstun and priority, in melee sadly he isn't very good compared to other characters, at least in brawl he got better and has better options than just a bair.

In melee all he has is bair, and the occasional up-air, f-tilt/down-tilt, nair. and maybe an inhale if you like messing around xD but honestly in melee you'd get whopped by a character that out-prioritizes him, which is almost everyone

It appears that my love for Link and Jigglypuff was prevalent. However, Brawl certainly desecrated characters that I enjoyed, such as Link and Jigglypuff, that is ironic. Apparently, I have always had a love for the Triforce; however, it wasn't until recent that I picked up Ganon. Before, I was using Captain Falcon and Ganon was my secondary. I have added more characters as I progressively mastered some. Toon Link was a necessary replacement. I picked up Marth in anticipation of Smash 4. So I have not changed too much. However, Lucario used to be my main in the beginning of Brawl. So that has transitioned out. I have maintained a relatively stagnant character selection though.

I wish, my disdain for Twilight Link is at an all time high, I honestly think I am going to gravitate towards Toon Link again. It is really sad, Link has always been my Main. He was great in Smash 64 and Melee, that gale boomerang really desecrated his prevalence for me. Maybe he will be great in Smash 4, I am not going to lie though, his aesthetic appeal is lacking.

I've done my fair share of switching mains but I've grown pretty attached to Sheik and as long as she makes it into SSB4, I don't see me switching again. If anything I might have a secondary main, as I'm pretty interested in Mega Man, but I've grown too fond of Sheik over the years to just stop.

But if a good player didn't expect you to do that because they think it'd be stupid then you would get the upper hand . And yes actually, a bair would win you a tourney if they were at high percentage and you killed them .

In Brawl Bair only. Kirby's Bair is so strong in Brawl he doesn't need his other other moves. Bair all day erry day.

In Melee Bair more.

M2K is like one of the best Smash players out there. He even made it to grand finals in 64, Melee, and Brawl at an Apex before even.

This is actually what I do, when I get bored of my usual mains, I decide to pick up the random button. I have been playing Smash since the beginning, so I know a lot about most of the characters. The only characters that I cannot use for the life of me are . I am decent with the rest of the roster.
