Umm... the Ice Climbers haven't been "relevant" in a long time either. Heck, why even bring up the "relevant" thing anymore=??? Ness, Jigglypuff, the Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, Marth, Roy, Ike, Pit, R.O.B. and now even Captain Falcon are irrelevant outside of smash.

Geno wouldn't be anything like Mega Man. Having played every classic Mega Man game, I don't see where you are coming from. Geno's got a machine gun thing; Mega Man has a mega buster generic shooting gun.

Krystal, on the other hand, has a pretty awesome staff, and also is a psychic. Heck, I hate Krystal as a character, and I don't want her in smash, but she's at least important to her franchise.

Really, comparing what some of us have as "guilty pleasure" characters that we would see (like a Geno) is not a crime, especially to what people on GameFAQs expect to see character-wise (Andross' nephew had a noticeable fan base over there pre-Brawl). To simply compare them... shows that you haven't been to GameFAQs (which is a good thing).

Ice Climbers was indeed an interesting choice and a step forward- hell, they were probably the progenitor- of the retro character representatives. I'm aware Pit was supposed to be in Melee as well but Ice Climbers making over him was significant. Ness, Captain Falcon, and Jiggs are a part of the original twelve, Mr. Game & Watch is actually a creation of Sakurai, Marth is the first ever Lord in Fire Emblem, and Pit is blatantly going to make it due to being in a game Sakurai helped with. The only ones with real trouble on there are R.O.B, Ike, and Roy. The last two only because of the recent Fire Emblem game coming out.

I already mentioned the error in wording I put forth with Yuii. They wouldn't fight the same at all, but their abilities are similar enough. After that it's more a matter of relevancy and no surprises for who wins that one.

Krystal is a basic damsel in distress, got demoted to basic fly-by pilot in Assault, and then got reamed by the fanfiction-tier writing of whatever that DS game was called. I wouldn't call her important in the least bit if Wolf makes it over her.

GameFAQS is silly, yes. However, if you recall the silliness that was pre-Brawl hype, you'd know equally well that Smashboards has its fair share of idiocy.

But Golden, the difference is here people just want Krystal. Not many people flat out expect her. Some think she has/had good chances both now and pre-Brawl, but no one flat out expected her that knew what they were talking about.

Meanwhile on GameFAQs, some people flat out expected Andrew, because he was "new."

"New" does not equal playable in smash bros peoples! (although I am preaching out to the wrong crowd)

But....Andrew wasn't new....he's been around as long as Wolf....

But the difference was we have a "veteran presence" here. Most of the regular posters here know what they are talking about, whereas over on GameFAQs few who post regularly know what they are talking about.

Over there they don't have much logic. They just think they like this character, therefore it WILL be playable. We think if we like that character, we would like them to be playable (or they should be playable).

While Sakurai isn't modest with referencing his series, he actually is with his characters.

It took THREE games in the Smash series just to include more than just Kirby, and that was only because Sakurai thought Brawl was the last Smash he was making.
That being said, and because Kirby feels complete with the three it has, I doubt there will be a Kirby newcomer.


That, and remember Kid Icarus isn't Sakurai's series, he only developed one game in the series. If Sakurai wants to add his own character though, he would look no futher than Magnus, who Sakurai actually created.

Kirby has 3 characters, but the series is amongst the biggest represented with characters in smash. Heck, the series has sold over 30 million units worldwide. The only Nintendo bigger franchises (in terms of sales) with less characters are the Game & Watch franchise (only one star) and the Donkey Kong franchise (always being forgotten about).

Star Fox, for example, has sold only about 3-6 million units worldwide.

That's called royalty fees, and there's the question of whether or not Sakurai himself had to pay for the rights to make a Kid Icarus game. The more I talk about stuff like this, it becomes more obvious that a big game company like Nintendo must have to go through so many legal hurdles every time they make a game.

All the people who say he's "too big" aren't regular visitors of this site. They're just a bunch of randoms who don't understand that smash bros size isn't automatically the same size as outside of smash.

Again, the regular posters, a few exceptions behind (back then; nowadays the regular posters are all smarter) didn't post stupid/random stuff like that and expects it. There's a difference between wanting and expecting something.

Smash Boards, for sure, isn't an exception to stupidity, but it still is a heck of a lot better than GameFAQs. I grew tired of arguing with people expecting Ralph from Oracles of Seasons/Ages to be playable pre-Brawl!

SWF doesn't limit stupidity as much as GameFAQs because the site is formatted to be more open to debate... because the site is genetically a site built around the competitive smash bros scene. However, because of this, the people who come here know a heck of a lot more about smash than the average GameFAQs Smash Bros. board goer does.

Step 1: BRING THE DAMN BARREL CANNON BACK.
Step 2: Animal Buddies.
Step 3: IMO, I'd prefer something like a cave or ruins stage.
Step 4: King K. Rool and Dixie.
Step 5: Colonel Pluck music somewhere. Not to mention this(or something like it) in a Kremling Medley or as an area theme(perhaps a shop area, as suggested before? Hero Territory=Cranky; Villain Territory=Klubba).
Step 6: All of the Tikis as ONE boss followed by Tiki Tong. Preferably with K. Rool fighting them(irony, you know ).

All of this would make me a happy player.
