Short comment on nearly 17 pages worth of posts: Sorry about the Ike replacement thing, lol. Don't want it to happen, but I think it is best to accept that the possibility is really there. Second, thing I think was a bunch of LoZ talk. I really have no idea what they'll do with these characters, but the idea of having each character represent a different Zelda series is interesting. Could use some decloning too. There are so many items in the LoZ series, it'd be easy to change up the Links. Sort of a combination of two points: I like the idea of Ganondorf being decloned, and Black Shadow taking his place as Captain Falcon's clone. I just figured the F-Zero fans wouldn't like that very much, and want a unique Samurai Goroh instead.

The last thing I'm most curious about: Why do people consider Wolf and Fox as clones? What moves do they even share? B-air?! Their specials are only the same conceptually - Wolf's work completely different. The only true thing that is cloned from Fox is the Final Smash. Baffling.

The last thing I'm most curious about: Why do people consider Wolf and Fox as clones? What moves do they even share? B-air?! Their specials are only the same conceptually - Wolf's work completely different. The only true thing that is cloned from Fox is the Final Smash. Baffling.

They're more like semi-clones. Anyway, Fox and Wolf do share similar animations as well, such as when they grab a Super Mushroom.

I'm not in approval. The only Melee character that I agree with bringing back is Mewtwo, and that's because he wasn't a clone nor was added in just to increase the number of the roster. That's why Dr. Mario and Pichu went as well.

And I do wana see Mewtwo come back. All they haz to do is power him up a little because in Melee,he had the weakest smash attack. But he also had a kill foward throw!

Well Roy would right off the bat have two moves different from Marth.


The vertical Shieldbreaker, and the slower Sword Dance. Counter is staying because even Ike has one, and they all work differently, so my guess is his UP+B being by default more horizontal, or a new one altogether.

I was also thinking of a quirk for Sukapon. Since he moves around while twirling, would it be neat or just plain ANNOYING if instead of having different run speeds, he would gain momentum the longer he went in any one direction. Actually, maybe it'd be better if he carried over momentum despite turning. Trying to think of gimmicky things for characters since Sakurai is all up ons that. :V

But out all of the "clones" I would say Wolf is the best (I dont really consider Luigi a clone). He basically has the same B moveset, but it doesn't even seem like it with the animations he has.

All his specials are copies of fox's moves, just executed a little differently. Not all of the starFox characters need a lazer, a fire up B, and flashy over B, or a deflector. Same goes for you Falco!

oh yeah and combos are what destoryed the very essence of ssbb. Now its just some Nintendo version of Street Fighter.If Sakurai wanted his characters to preform combos,he would have put a combo list at the pause screen.

Smash Bros was not intended to be a competitive fighting game. It's supposed to be a casual or party game that anyone can pick up and play. That's why he did not and will not include combos in the future.

I really don't see any of them beyond Sonic, and even then, he's probably the fifth most likely character to be removed (after Lucario, Wolf, Ike, and Snake).

Sonic isn't going anywhere, he was the most requested character for a while now. That would be stupid to remove him, considering the Nintendo-Sega relationship.

Yeah I built something similar in Brawl. It was a flat platform with two springs on either side (simulates the ropes). It was certainly a tourney style stage though. Cool ideas though.

We'll soon be reaching the point of having a regular cast, I think. Eventually only a few characters will be added per game. Probably as replacements to represent newer stuff.

As big of a cash cow as it is, I don't think they can milk it for too much longer.

Yeah that would look nice. And tournaments like the simple stages like final destination and battlefield. This should be ideal then.

I'll have to disagree, if the games build off of one another and are good; this could be long lasting. It depends how long the fire burns! I for one love them, but brawl was disappointing for me.

ANYWAYS to be productive in this thread, what do people think about bringing back that one DK stage from melee, Kongo Jungle (not sure if that was the exact name). It would be good for competition and when I used to play casually I was very fond of that stage.
